New technology helps archaeologists explore the past

Archaeologists are switching their pickaxes for subatomic particle detectors. The high-tech tools can see through hundreds of feet of rock, and allow archaeologists to glimpse the ancient world without damaging artifacts. Chris Livesay reports.

    • Not just that, we have fragile archeological sites around the globe that are waiting for the technology to retrieve and/or investigate without destroying irreplaceable knowledge
