AMAZING Buys for a French CHATEAU!! Supporting Local Animal Rescue - Journey to the Château, Ep. 178
In this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart continue the renovation of the water closet for their chateau guest room bed and breakfast suite. Patrick installs and grouts the mosaic marble floor tiles. They also make a return trip to the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis (30 Million Friends Foundation) animal sanctuary to pick up an item at the request of the owners of another KZhead chateau channel, as well as shopping for a few amazing things for their own chateau.

The new little chandelier cleaned up beautifully. An excellent find.
Stuart picked a great one. I expected a nice chandelier and it turned out to be WOW….. we got really lucky ❤😊❤
The petite chandelier cleaned up beautifully. A great find. The inspectors at the door assuring quality control look satisfied with your purchase and clean up.
That mini chandelier is just darling.
Patrick the bathroom floor is looking lovely. Great find Stuart, it sounds like the chandelier has found a perfect home can't wait to see it once its fitted. And that Ginger always has something to say, too darn precious. Till next time, hugs to all and stay well.
Thank you Ina. Hope all is well. The new flooring makes that little WC brighter and nicer. And the chandelier will mate that entrance quite the entrance! 😂. Hugs and love from us ❤❤❤
I enjoy your German introduction, Patrick. My parents emigrated from Hamburg Germany before i was born, along with two aunts and their families. So i was raised surrounded by German, but they are all gone now. So hearing you speak makes me sentimental. All the best for your restoration of the chateau.
Thank you so much. We had some comments in the beginning from people who were annoyed at us for addressing viewers in multiple language. Now I’m glad we stayed the course. ❤. Huge hugs from Colombe. ❤
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452you can’t please everybody 😂. I think it’s very inclusive. ✌🏼
Dear Patrick and Stuart it is your channel and you can speak or address to people in what language you please. I like it the way it is. ❤🤗😊🍀🍀🍀🍀
We love how inclusive, warm, and kind you are! Also, tell people the way it is- chocolate or vanilla!
Yes please, an as-you-go question segment sounds great. Pat the pups and enjoy the flowers.
Thank you once again for the smiles, laughs and taking us along.
After Patrick polished it, it was just stunning. Good find.
I love how you are staying sympathetic to the chateau
Love the camellia. The color is beautiful. The chandelier was a great find and I personally LOVE the water closet tile. Can't wait to see your flowers🥂
I agree. The colour of the camellia is wonderful. I’m looking forward to the flowers as well. Thank you ❤❤
I appreciate your detailed explanation of your technique of tiling. You bestow confidence in the viewer’s ability to take on the task of tiling their own bathroom.
Oh wow, the ‘little’ chandelier is beautiful, what a find! Patrick…the mosaic flooring looks great AND we love how you make it clear that you both do things your way, that’s why we love watching your vlogs. Yes to the short end sessions for questions, great idea! Plus, thousands of cranes over us too…Spring is coming fast and it is early…big smiles here.
Thank you so much. The chandelier, It is so adorable. ❤. The flooring is making that dark WC so much brighter. Isn’t it amazing when the cranes fly to their summer grounds? Gives me goosebumps. 😊😮😊 Hugs and love from Colombe ❤❤
Patrick is so patient. Cleaning the chandelier would make me stressed. Please show us around the garden and in a couple of weeks orchards could be starting to bloom, which would be great to see…
My favourite job, Clea ning a chandelier That one came up so beautifully what joy. Clever Patrick man of many talents❤👏👏
I love love love that chandelier the size the shape the crystals...its FABULOUS❤
Thanks Stuart and Patrick! I really enjoyed the episode as per normal. Loved the little chandalier, the ponies, doggies and of course the little marble tiles. Can't wait now until you surprise us all again on Saturday morning down under!
💖❤️💖
Same thing here in Georgia! Hundreds of Sandhill Cranes flying North over our house in the middle of February! This is a first. Love the sweet chandelier! 🥰
How beautiful having the cranes flying over.
Great finds!! I love the wee chandelier! You had it sparkling again in no time, Patrick. The mosaic tiles for the bathroom are wonderful. As always, Stuart, your music choices complement the video perfectly. A wee Q&A at the end sounds delightful!
You took the words right out of my mouth, the chandelier is adorable.
The now cleaned little chandelier looks beautiful. Great find Stuart!
I really like the idea of a short question and answer session at the end of each episode. The chandelier is lovely 👍🏻🌷🪻
Patrick the bath is really shaping up , love the tile .Amazing find with the chandelier .Your videos are always .so uplifting . Love to you both
Yes, the chandelier is truly adorable! Love it, and love you two!!
The tile job is excellent. Now I am not usually a chandelier fan. Not typically my style but by the time Patrick finished cleaning that little one and lighting it up I was in love with it. It's going to look beautiful in the vestibule. Love the idea of seeing it through the window too. Bravo.
Stuart, what a good find in that chandelier and, Patrick, how you made it sparkle ✨️
Hallo meine lieben ich bewundere euren geschmack freu mich immer wenn ihr was schones findet ❤😊❤😊❤
couldn't sleep , to much on the brain , whats better then some Patrick and stuart 🥰 the tiles look very good guys x love the little chandelier .much love Yx
Love the little chandelier! I kept seeing things at the 30M d'Amis charity shop and thinking, "Oh you need that!" Some of the little bedside tables really caught my eye! LOL! A little Q&A rather than a whole episode of them sounds great to me.
We love those bedside tables too 🤣. They have some wonderful donated items. Some quite pricey. Love your feedback and sending hugs from Colombe
Would love a Q and A with each video. What a sweet chandelier. It’s going to be beautiful in the water closet! Love the mosaic tile, too! You’re the best you two!
I love the idea of you answering questions! Absolutely love your new sweet chandelier.
Sooo sparkly!! Quite the vaboom for the new foyer. It will make entering the new suite feel very special. The new floor is very classic and airy. Looking forward to the new Q&A section. And I'm in Maine, so very jealous of your daffodils.
Oh that chandelier is so beautiful and cleaning it was a labour of love.
What a lovely chandelier! It is so delicate and sweet! Good find Stuart! Patrick, you are once again doing a great job on the lavabo floor, it looks perfect! xox
Hi, I loved seeing the little chandelier blooming under your wonderful care. CH
sad I missed the live today! Halo Patrick und, hey Stuart!! that chandelier turned out gorgeous!!!
I’m rather surprised that some people have never heard of mosaic tiles on the floor. We’ve used them in the past in bathrooms and loved them! Much easier too if it’s not a large bathroom too. Lots of early 20th century homes in this area have them and are original. Looks beautiful
Love that new chandelier and it is perfect for the spot you have chosen .
My small town bank that is over 130 years old has beautiful mosaic tiles on their floors & they have held up tremendously with farmers walking over them probably daily.
Floor looks great Patrick can't wait for the outside video on the spring flowers on Friday Stuart lovely chandelier and answering comments at the end of volg brilliant idea cheers guys
Cheers my friend. I’m looking forward to seeing what Stuart has found. There are so many plants already in bloom. Amazing. The floor is done and now I am finishing the walls….. so exciting. Hugs ❤
you are doing a thoughtful and timeless renovation of your chateau, its so lovely to watch your journey
Patrick, great job on the floor tiles, and you are absolutely correct. They will last year's. They also look beautiful. I love that chandelier and look forward to the installation. Be still my heart when I saw those two horses heard to head in love. How sweet was that. I loved that charity brocante. So many beautiful things I saw there. It was neat and well kept with good quality pieces. The Camilla is so beautiful. I just planted some daffodils and tulips on my front porch. It feels so good to be out in the garden. Spring is early here this year. It's my favorite season. Seeing everything come back to life renews our inner spirit with joy. I look forward to what you found for the chapel. Now I will be guessing. Yes, by all means, a few questions at the end of the show is a fabulous idea. My question is, do you have any favorite Easter recipes that you would like to share? Lately, I have been baking up a storm of things and indulging a bit too many desserts. I don't mind because after Easter we will be living on salads, especially when the weather gets hot. Take care. You both are looking great. Lots of love from me.❤
What a gorgeous chandelier!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🏰🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
The little pony’s canoodling together was adorable. Gorgeous little Chandelier purchase too thanks for the music to accompany your polishing it. You two have a very good eye for finding such wonderful treasures at Brocantes, etc. ❤ I think it’s a good idea a segment of questions at the end of your video 👍
Oh what a little lovely bijou of a chandelier❣️👌 So sparkling and pretty after your cleaning! All this circular re-use of lovely, useful things is so joyful. It's really no fun to just click and pay, or go looking for things brand new when anything you like is bound to be so much more expensive and less interesting and unique, when you can go brocante hunting for things like this, get a better price AND be more sustainable at that! You know, I think the person commenting on mosaics likely heard that about glass mosaics, which is true. The glass ones won't hold up well under foot, especially not in spaces where people wear shoes. But any stone, like marble will, and even stoneware ceramics can work too but is more fragile than floor tiles bc they're thinner, so probably less of a great choice for a guest WC where women may wear thin high heels. Marble of any kind is extremely durable, always. It doesn't however, take kindly to any form of Ajax-type cleaner, anything with chlorine or ammonia or any agent with organic acids. Also marble slabs in kitchens will turn dark and get stains from vinegar, tomatojuice, lemons, so one needs to be aware is all. Any natural fluid soap is all you need to clean it anyway. All the harsh chemicals are used far too often and are awful for pets, small children and respiration anyway. France has wonderful natural fluid Marseille soap with esssential oils of lavender, rose, lemon and (even Cedar or rosemary which is great for wood floors). In the US you can get Castille soap, or likely American varieties with pine sap at eco friendly stores, and they're all amazing and natural bug repellents too. I can't wait to see what you come up with for these smaller spaces! It's alot fiddlier to renovate them than larger ones, but the impact of just a few square feet of anything changes the entire space! Oh and doing questions now and then at the end of videos is a great idea! See you soon boys! 💕
❤️
The new little chandelier is so pretty all cleaned up! Great find! Can’t wait to see the other things you found!
Love the chandelier and kudos for the animal rescue. As usual Stuart love your music selections
The chandelier IS adorable. I love it. Thanks for the close-up shots too. The crystals are so pretty. The tiles look great. Fun tour of the charity shop. I saw lots of great finds. I would go mad in there. Thoroughly enjoyable episode. ❤ from TX!
Thanks so much! 😊
Good morning Patrick & Stuart, I love the mosaic tiles. They are fantastic and you get them in beautiful colours. The great advantage with them is the fact, they do not break under foot, because the tile is smaller it can take the weight, any weight much better than the large tiles, they always seem to crack especially if not laid properly!! Sometimes people do not know what they are talking about! Again, it is your home, do as you please. There is nothing in any of the projects you have done that has any reason for criticizing. O.K. , it was also a lovely brocante, the small tables were very nice, done by skilled craftsmen, the chandelier is so smart, not as huge as the bigger brother but it will serve it's purpose, and there are rooms where you wish to have a smart light but there is no room for the bigger version. The crystals are very nicely cut, and being lead glass, it makes them more special. It would be lovely to see the flowers and the dogs!! Do have a most enjoyable day, take care. Many blessings. 🥰❤👍🥂🌼
I’m disappointed Patrick, I was expecting mosaic scenes of you a Stuart around the grounds with your dogs. As you mentioned the romans did. Just kidding! I love the mosaic floor as is. ❤😂
Hello Patrick and Stuart, I love the idea of answering questions at the end of each episode! The little chandelier is beautiful! Can't wait to see more progress on the projects you are currently working on. 😊
Thank you Jennifer. I had that idea when there were misconceptions…… But I also want to answer questions viewers have in general. We need more progress! I can’t wait either. Huge husb❤😊❤
Omg that light is Beautiful good job on cleaning it love watching your guys keep up the hard work Patrick I love how you keep Stuart on his toes lol ❤❤❤
Absolutely that is a great choice for a floor. We sell them at HD. Those tiles are "in " again in decor. You always make the right choice in the renovations. ❤ ( Thank goodness you are not into demolition today. Lol😂)❤
Lovely as always. ❤ Holy cow! That chandelier cleaned up real pretty. Just gorgeous! Big hugs to you both. ❤❤
Love your new, wee Empire chandelier. It cleaned up beautifully!
Hi sweeties. You can use mozaïek tiles for floors and walls. Even using two tone colours like walls and floors one tone and shower a second tone. It can look beautilful 😊 The little chandelier is cute and will look great in the little hallway. The glittering will reflect so beautilful in the mirror of the staircase. I'am really curious what you found for the Chapel. You're so nice that you gifted Terry, Ash and Tracy a endoscope. Hugs and kisses also for the furries 🥰😘😊❤️🐕
Short sessions of Q&A are always good. ❤
The subway tile floor turned out excellent. I’m thinking about redoing my bathroom floor and really like how that turned out. Nice score on the chandelier too. I look forward to seeing it installed. A question/answer segment sounds great!
I'm recovering from a gnarly cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself. Watching the rainbows come back into the crystals of the chandelier with the upbeat music did wonders for my mood. Thanks for another great video.
We hope you feel better soon Tammie. Since we had the flu and were sick for weeks, we couldn’t feel for you more. 😮😊. So glad that the cute little chandelier brought you joy. Made me smile too. Hugs and a speedy recovery from Colombe ❤❤
Oh my gosh, I've seen those tiles on bathroom floors many times, in fancy hotels, for example! Good grief, there is always some one who likes to give a negative, like you asked for it! The floor looks great Patrick. I love the little chandelier you found Stuart! I like the idea of a segment and not the whole video taken up with you poor guys having to answer a ton of questions.
Those little tiles are beautiful. Perfect for the small space. And by the way, for a while now I get the feeling that some people comment to sound knowledgeable and achieve the opposite result. 🤦♀️ PS, that little chandelier is sooo pretty. Oh, Wow!
Thank you! 🥰 I think that many viewers that make these comments have not watched us enough to know that this is the third renovation that we have done together, and we each have our own separate lifetime experiences of doing this kind of work, even before KZhead even existed (it was launched in 2005).
Patrick and Stuart, another lovely video. Love your chandelier, so adorable!
Hi Stuart and Patrick, I've been awol for a while, my entire tech system, phone, laptop and tablet went down, so haven't been able to see anything! Back on deck now, thankfully! Love the mosaic tiles, they're just right for that space. I do love that brocante, they have such beautiful things there! I spotted a few chairs that I'd just about kill for! I absolutely love that little chandelier, it's so pretty. And I'm intrigued by its construction, I've never seen anything like that. It's super pretty though, it'd look amazing in my hallway! Much love and big hugs 🤗🥰🤗
Hello gentlemen, you both look great. 🫶🥂
What a beautiful little chandelier! Great find! I would spend so much money at these brocants you show us. I love seeing them. And yes please to answering some questions .
The chandelier turned out beautifully. I love crystal anything. Yes, I thiink a question/answer session is a great idea. Hope I can figure it out. 😕 🫤 😃 Take care and c u Friday 😊 ♥️
😘
Oh what a gorgeous buy, the chandelier is absolutely gorgeous and what a difference it made when cleaned. I hope now you have cleaned it, youve bagged it 😂. Look I ng forward to seeing what you brought for chapel, i can imagine what it is .. hi babis 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕 ❤
Patrick and Stuart, I really like all the flowers. I wish I could grow camellias here, but the winters are too cold and I don't have a greenhouse. I'm looking forward to a tour of your garden flowers on Friday. I like the new-to-you chandelier which sparkles so beautifully after Patrick cleaned it. I love the marble tile in the bathroom. And finally, thanks for answering questions at the end of future videos. 🥰
Beautiful chandelier, and the floor is so much better
Spring flowers are the best! Can’t wait to see❤
Love your tiling Patrick! Ignore the naysayers! You both have great taste! Enjoyed your shopping trip and the new chandelier. I wait in anticipation to see your chapel find. I have an idea what that may be. Enjoy the emergence of spring. Loved the view of the cranes. A bientot 🥰🥰
Loved that little chandelier and the way it picked up colors behind it. Answering questions at the end would be a fun little extra.
The chandelier looked very nice after it got its cleaning. And the tile floor looked great.
The little chandelier is a gem and a great find. It is for a good cause as well. The mosaic tile looks great in the bathroom. Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli
The chandelier is beautiful.
That chandelier is gorgeous. Hat a transformation
Gorgeous new chandelier.💖🥂
It's so lovely to see the grues (cranes) flying back in February, it is a very French thing which reminds us that spring is beginning here. We have seen loads arriving over the last few days, they are so noisy you can't NOT see them!! Looking forward to seeing you both Saturday xxxx
See you soon! 💕😘
I love the chandelier, can't wait to see what you've bought for the chapel.
Patrick you did a great job on the toilet room floor!! The Romans would be proud of you, too!!😊
😂😂😂. Love your comment. Thank you so much. ❤❤
Just catching up now with you guys. That chandelier is a beautiful find. Great eye Stuart! It cleaned up beautifully Patrick. Every day you make progress. Very exciting to watch. I love the idea of a short q&a segment.
What a fabulous chandelier!
Just love that chandelier!! It was just beautiful after cleaning it!!! I do love the bathroom flooring!! Yay! The lighting of the chandelier is soo adorable!! Spotting that is a great find!! Lots of love from Tennessee!!!
Stuart found a really good one! Cleaning was fun and now it is a sparkling joy. And the flooring makes the room nice and bright. Cant wait to finish it. Hugs from Colombe❤
Answering questions at the end would be great. Love your beautiful chandelier ❤
And Spring must be close as you were wearing shorts while working. 😊
Patrick, you really are the master of chandelier cleaning and Stuart of spotting them. I also have a small French chandelier of this size, but quite different in its design, also from the 1920‘s. My sister bought it in Versailles some 20 years ago. I just LOVE it. Did you hear of the theory that one should clean the chandeliers with Vodka??? Maybe only the Russian chandeliers, who knows🤣
Yes, please have the Q&A at the end of each episode. So much to ask.
Lovely chandelier! What a find.
Love the little chandelier. And I never realized there was red wallpaper in the little powder room.
Oh that chandelier!!😻😻😻 and what a difference after you cleaned it!!
What is it in us that enjoys looking at other people's junk, er- "cast-offs"? LOL! I love it when you share your brocante trips with us❤ [Good music choice for it, too.] The small chandelier is elegant!
😊 thank you
Love the chandelier it's perfect.
Lovely baby chandelier!
Sweet chandelier! We spotted the first chipmunk here today, Spring is earlier and we are loving it!
I love the tile floor! The little chandelier is lovely (I thought it was going in the new bathroom). That brocante looked amazing.
Yes! Great idea to have a short question & answer segment.
I think it is a good idea to answer questions at the end of the episodes. That was a lovely small chandelier you found.
The chandelier is beautiful ❤
I love that every video your mantle and walls get❤ more and more beautiful
Love the Chandelier and also love the idea of questions answered at the end of your video.
