Bro! Seriously, that hit me hard, too! I intentionally did not finish watching this video 2 years ago, since I don't wanna know who won. But yeah, watching it right now struck me, since I'm rooting for UCLA. They could've gotten the gold if not for those costly service errors at the latter part of the 4th period, albeit LB was just up at least 1 before snatching the set. That was come from behind win for them knowing they're down at least 4 or 5 points before squaring the game to 17-19 mark.

22:07 ROLLING THUNDER!!! Thank god I got into volleyball before watching Haikyu! I’m in love with the sport even more ❤️
Rahzi sameeee
rOLLiNgUuuuu tHuNdAhhhhhgh i watch sUbbEd oKay
because of haikyu I'm playing volleyball
Same I’m love men volleyball because of Haikyu! And I’m not ashamed 😊
This game is legendary. I continue to rewatch it for inspiration and dream I’d play on a court like this someday.
bro this game amazing
I was rooting for Beach, but I gotta admit the confidence UCLA had on their middle was amazing!! Great match
8:24 for that kage-Yama and hinata quick attack. You’re welcome 👌🏽
Will McCallister Thank you lmaoo been looking out for that
Thx
Lol
i mean its kinda hard to tell, i think the ball is going up before he jumps
that wasnt a quick attack at all
I was prepared for an announcer to say "Look at Defalco man so inspirational"
Nobody:... literally nobody:.... Announcer: KYAaaAa!! defalco-sama💕
*the quality of this video is much clearer than my future*
So original, but true, it is brighter than your future
It's weird how an anime can make you appreciate the intricacies of this game. I didn't give two shits about volleyball like 5 years ago, and now it's one of my biggest regrets that I didn't play in high school.
i watched haikyuu a year ago and now i'm a libro like nishinoya on my team it's really cool! :D
Ps i'm 5'1"
This just makes me sad that i didn't appreciate volleyball before discovering haikyu... Wish I woulda pursued this sport above all the others I've played.
no cap man I regret not really pursuing volleyball until it was too late with corona ruining everything
3 years later and I'm still going to be surprised by kofi's bounce
Game starts at 5:27
Tortoiselover33 thanks you just saved 5:27 of my time
thank youuuu
Daenan is incredible, i hope to see him on the national team
he’s so good, one of my fav players. I got my vball jersey #16 after him lol
Jack1Conlin what club do you play for? I’m guessing Titans?
@Jack1Conlin Pakmen?
Jack1Conlin yeahI forgot he’s in L.A. rn. Titans is a club near me, and it’s where he developed

That’s a hell of a yawn at 27:58
bruh lmao
I think he is breathing in and out to concentrate and gain momentum 😂
@@zaco21_ look in the crowd
no one: absolutely no one: announcers: omygod look at nefalco
Marc Matbagon I find it extra hilarious that you’ve spelled his name nefalco 😂 I really got sick of the announcers shitting themselves over defalco, tuaniga and ensing (the numbers speak for themselves, they’re immensely talented) when ma’a, kofi, Dylan missry and others of UCLA were making just as great if not better plays
LuckyThirteenx same it really started pissing me off because you could tell the announcers had favorites and they weren’t trying to hide it
The Number 16 middle blocker from UCLA ,he is amazing
Tough to see UCLA miss all those serves late in the fourth set. They'd have had the match if they'd only made a couple.
Incredible gameplay. I'm guessing service pct is what the coach's gonna be working on from now henceforth. So many free points from UCLA, both teams were SOLID
The setter always brings his team to winning. MVP!!!

😂😂
Student SWAG It’s called a block, pretty normal in volleyball mate.
@@chadlad5646 well apparently u didnt watched haikyuu, we know what a block is lmao
The wall
UCLA choked. Up 2 sets to 1 and up 17-13 in the fourth. They lived by the serve and died by the serve. At 17-13 UCLA missed their serve. At 18-16 UCLA did a cotton candy easy serve and lost the point 20-20 UCLA missed serve 21-21 UCLA missed serve 22-22 UCLA missed serve 23-23 UCLA missed serve 24-24 UCLA did a very easy serve and lost point 24-25 Long Beach ace to win the set.
10:04 the libero was sooo ready for that ball it's amazing
50:05 absolute monster
Kofi is actually crazy (the UCLA Star middle). He’s an artist and plays volleyball
1:45:05 did he turn a spinner into a float serve??
sekita
I know some players that do the same run-up for both. Faking a spin isn´t really effective, as there is more than enough time for the opposition to adjust.
Alex Rossi it definitely is becoming more popular now tbh. It’s a hybrid serve and catches people off guard sometimes.
defalco was really the golden boy in this time
7:54 what a great set 10:25
i usually don’t like watching boys play volleyball cause i can’t even see the ball
Then watch women play
Bella Hough ok feminist go watch the sloweyball

Ngl probably the only reason volleyball has gotten as much as attention as it ever had
it would be fun to see a NCAA div 1 Women's team play a Men's team
the womens team would get shit on man, they dont jump nearly as high and lack power.

No wonder why defalco was in team usa he is great player together with ensing & maah.
I can remember when Pono Ma’a played Team Cup Volleyball along with Alan Knipe…when Knipe had hair. LOL
I don’t understand why all the haikyu fans keep adding haikyu before everything 🤣 just a pet peeve but they’re always like wow kageyama serve or rolling thunder, nah bruh that’s just how you play the game
36:40 DeFalco face hit with teammate so funny
You hear the broadcasters talking about DeFalco alot when UCLA’s #16 (Gyimah) really was the star of this game!
You gotta win the game to get the praise, sweetheart.
hold my sack
DDog52 ya... that’s cute. I believe I was referring to the skill of an individual player, not the team as a whole (who only lost by a few points at that).
TJ is more talented than Gyimah. Gyimah can jump and smack the ball no doubt, but TJ is better at serving, passing, and pretty much everything else. TJ is without a doubt the most talented player in college
Gmaggedon Hmmm... and how many miss-serves did TJ have in this game alone😬😬
it would be dope to experience Us volleyball but i'm Caribbean and Guyanese and well our players are too short but i hope to play internationally one day.. Never Give UP

ucla #17 looks like ari henning lol
2:03:37 I’ve never watched volleyball before can someone explain to me why this play was stopped?
Its called a double contact. Its when the person who is setting hand's touch the ball at two different times usually giving a spin. Anyway your hands much touch the ball at the same time or else it is a violation. It is usually common amongst those who are not the setter.
marlon davison thanks that makes sense
My high school doesn’t have volleyball, how to I get them to make a team
mens volleyball is so much different than womens, mens is like serve, spike, done. girls is like...rally rally rally rally....ob
StickOfMargarine Not true
Bryce j it’s pretty true
Darvin Guan No it’s not because men’s volleyball rallies a lot too.
Bryce j lmfao womens volleynall is oure rallies tho. mens does have rallies but definitely nowhere near as many as womens
Darvin Guan That’s pretty bullshit
Omg I predicted there would be a server's error giving LBS a point ending the first set...I just might be Raven Symone Baxter.
No. 16 of UCLA. Is he in the USA men’s volleyball pool now?
ucla #16 my guyyyyy
Insane how many serves they all miss
Matt Butler's an interesting fellow
2:03:24 defalco lol

Men's Volleyball is just so much more exciting... UCLA practically lost because they missed so many serves towards the end
which is the name of the server of long beach?
Everyone serves bruh
I don't underdstand why the commentors say that in set 4 they were 22-19, maybe i'm missing something they said because english isn't my first language, but someone knows why?
Is this volleyball or service error volleyball?
Zima should be in national team
I love that two Polynesian boys are the captains/setters of their respective teams Ma'a/Hawaiian, Tuaniga/Samoan.
Im still super sad that UCLA lost this :(
I wanna play at this level :(
I’m thinking of joining a Volleyball club in High School cause they don’t have one in my middle school. Anybody can recommend me some High Schools? PS I live in Nevada
Isn't #11 on LBSU on the National Team?
yes he is . so do his teammate Ensing
@@wingyanleung8505 SO you can be on the National Team and still be in college? I thought you have to finish college to go PRO...It's also interesting that they have time to travel internationally while in college...O_O"
@@zackd2852 yes i think so. I think they dont have that much time too. that's why TJ didnt attend the world championship this year haha. but I know some player will stop their academic for a while like Murphy for the USA women team. She supposed to be graduated at 2011 but eventually graduated in 2017. but tbh i think its good for them to play on national team earlier to gain experiences.
@@wingyanleung8505 @Zack D you can only play on a national team if you get invited by the coaches and when you play internationally you can't earn $$$ from winnings like the other players because if you do then I think the NCAA can suspend not only the player but the entire team so the players only go on a national team to gain the experience of playing at that level internationally and then they go back to college when they want. The only player I can recall doing this was in the Women's game when Logan Tom was only a freshman at Stanford and I think she played in the 2000 Summer Olympics then went back to Stanford after the games.
Zack D he played for the USA in the NVL nations volleyball league. Which is each country showing off their young talent. Not nessecarally the national team

Kofiiiii
announcers dusting their knee-pads when defalco comes around the corner
8:21 Kofi...
11:07 is such a HUGE net touch.. how is that missed in a championship game?? Laughable.
probably because there was no net violation? Defalco maybe hit it on the way down but it was after the ball had hit the floor and the play was dead
Ryan McDonald The net clearly starts moving before the ball has hit the floor. It wasn’t a dead ball yet.
Steve Bourke i just rewatched it at 0.25x, and now i see it, Long Beach’s middle actually kicked the bottom of the net on the way up. that’s likely why it wasn’t called because the refs were focused on the top of the tape where the play was.
Ryan McDonald Yeah I totally get your point, but still, they don’t have to see what part of the Net is touched, they just need to see that it’s moving and the ball isn’t dead, also that no players are outside the court lines (when a net touch is ok). They blatantly missed this one
54:30 the crowd 🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
