With a significant swell forecast, I make a journey to Donegal, in North West Ireland, where with only 24 hours available, I got to spend sometime capturing the wild beauty of the Poison Glen, and Donegal's wildly beautiful coastline.

I was there in 2023 ... Wild indeed ... Loved Five Finger Strand, it was like walking onto the set of One Million Years B.C.

Peter, those eyes were working hard over your 24 hours in beautiful Donegal👀😊 Stunning and wild in both the Poison Glen and at the coast. That view up to those walls of rock at the head of the Poison Glen have to be some of the most dramatic in Ireland. The sea was in fine form and the early light on those clouds made for a stunning shot👍 Agree that you can come across drama and beauty pretty much anywhere in Donegal👍
Thanks Gerry, while in the Glen you came to mind, as I was thinking about some of your videos where you have been to the top of those walls at the back of the Glen. The Glen was the wettest I had ever seen it, frog spawn everywhere, need to explore deeper into the Glen.

What I like about landscape photography in Donegal is the solitude. You can have the location all to yourself for at least an hour, sometimes for 4 hours. We still have our place in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. In Dorset, UK, where we live currently you can only get solitude at sunrise. You also get a car park, café and toilets too near all target locations, not just for photographers but hikers, dog walkers, runners, cyclists, families, etc. from 07:00 on.
You make a good point Paul about the solitude Paul, that peace and isolation you can find in Donegal (even though you really aren’t that far from people) is a joy.
Stunning landscapes. I guess you're right about most 'landscapes', just get off the beaten track. I hope Ireland's paying extra for importing all that Scottish weather, now we've been dragged out of the EU 😊
