  • This is the best tutorial I've found online or in print on how to work everything in a Northern Lite camper. Thank you!

    • Michael H. Starks princess craft seems to me to be beyond excellent on the tech tours . I’ve got quite a few hours watching and gathering as much info from many different perspectives an such and they really have impressed me . Another good reason to go to Princess Craft an get quality custom service as well an avoid the misery of becoming just another number when you need them . Customer service is a huge deal to me .

  • Super! This is the most comprehensive overview. It would be nice to make subtitles, for example Russian.

  • The first time I saw a NL camper in person, I knew it was for me. I've been waiting for over a year for ford to build my f450, once I finally have that in my possession, I'll be getting my camper!

  • Nicely done Cody! I would mention that the little lights above the dinette and near the head of the bed have USB ports which are great for charging your phone or for small fans

  • Excellent walk thru!! I take every opportunity to point out that the fresh water fill port on the outside is NOT designed to just shove the threaded end of a garden/potable water hose in. The metal end of the hose will virtually block the fill port when it is wedged in and the tank vent in almost every RV is too small to relieve the amount of air that needs to escape, End result is the tank balloons in size and can damage structure or break open. There are fill adapters on the market or you can make one, that has a small clear hose with a shut off valve and garden hose connection. This is small enough to not block the fill port and will allow air to escape around it. I learned this the hard way. If the threads on the RV antifreeze suction hose 37:30 has standard 3/4 garden hose thread, it would serve that purpose well, just insert it down in the fill port and connect the garden/potable hose to it.

  • Cody, EXCELLENT job! This is a most complete video on the Northern Lite campers I have seen. I have a 2017 Northern Lite 8.11 and when we bought ours, there was nothing out there to speak of and I really could have used this video when ours was new. Princess Craft RV needs to take good care of you, it is obvious to me you care and know what you are talking about. Well done, sir!

  • Thanks - great walk thru. Question about the fuel/power source for the A/C unit. Does that only run on shore power? or does it run with propane too. I would imaging powering it from battery would be a "no".

  • I think Cody did a great job I'm not really familiar with campers so when he said an 8-11 for new comers I think it be good to know exactly the size of truck that the cabover campers fit on. But other then that Cody great tutorial on everything.

    • Thanks for the input! It'll only make us better! You'll need a BIG truck for this. We typically see them on long-bed dually trucks, but a properly setup 3/4 ton or 1-ton single axle truck will work. BUT, you really should not exceed the payload capacity the manufacturer rated your specific truck for, before it left the factory. Make sure to check with your RV salesman and you vehicle's dealership to verify that you have a safe setup. Thanks!

  • Great walk throughs! One clarifying question, you said the power center could handle Lithium batteries with the flip of a switch. Does that mean it has the PD4500 unit and not a PD4000 unit? Or am I missing something? It looks like a PD4000 and that is the manual on Northern Lite’s website.

  • My 2005 northern lite 3 way fridge kills my batteries it goes into dc mode all by its self. I call dc mode the $$%k mode because you will want to smash it while saying %$ck after it kills the truck battery with no warning. I now HATE DC MODE i now watch my alt gauge for #$ck mode trying to kill my alternator to. Its real fun when your in the middle of now were Alaska hunting all day only to come back to dead batteries:( P.s lov my 9-6 queen classic best camper for Alaska i do get moister under the bed in the fall rainy season after staying in it for 3+ weeks strait. I used a breathable under bed liner haven't had a chance to test it but the rainy season just started its working so far. I think the factory should use a computer fan with small hoses just under the bed like an air hockey table and in very front by the bed to get water out i think this is only a Alaska problem and Washington rain problem. I found a chat were a guy made computer fan manifold with small pvc lines under the bed for moister removal i might do the same.

  • Does Northern Lite offer a small truck camper that will fit in a Ford F150?

  • Nice job walking through, we're looking at these. Do you know if it has a built in Inverter? We'll need a 2000W pure sine. Also we want to swap out the fridge for a new DC Only fridge, (Dometic, Isotherm etc.) is that something you can do?. Also Lithium batteries. I believe the units come with 360W of solar which should be good.Thanks!

    @oursomedayisnow3915@oursomedayisnow39153 жыл бұрын
    • This one didn't have the built-in inverter, but we do install inverters, lithium, and solar on a regular basis. Most upgrades are attainable, and we think the ideas you have would make this an incredible off-the-beaten-path camper!

  • It looks like a very good product with high quality. But it also looks like a boat from 1984 Why not make it a little more modern, interior/exterior, maybe look to Scandinavian campers interior, that also gives good quality as we see here :-) Thank you very much for a very good and informative tutorial :-)

    • The mechanism is a bit unusual, but isn't hard to do after the first time. It takes longer to explain the process than to actually do it!

    • Pretty standard cassette awning for motorhomes and truck campers, and much easier (but not as sturdy) as a awning used on many travel trailers. Only thing easier would be electric rather than a crank but you still have to deal with the support rods (and with the camper on a truck, you may need a short ladder/stepladder/stool)
