Freeriding The Steep Mountains Of Chamonix | Frozen Mind FULL SNOWBOARD/FREESKI FILM
In Frozen Mind, the pro snowboarder Victor de Le Rue is testing the limits of what is possible and challenges himself against unforgiving, ice-covered slopes in Chamonix, France.
Chamonix is one of the most prestigious places for mountaineers in the world. Now these dramatic mountains lure more and more skiers and snowboarders to ride the steep, unforgiving faces and it is in Chamonix that we will discover the adventures and evolution of Victor de Le Rue.
It is being together with his old friend Pierre Hourticq, mountain guide that Victor will try to write a new story in the iconic mountains of the Mont Blanc Massif, riding extreme slopes of more than 45° that also have extreme consequences.
Frozen Mind is not just a film based on snowboard/ski performance. It is above all a story of friendship and a journey of discovery as the two men take unique paths in order to conquer the same objectives.

I live in probably the worst place to ski, snowboard, or tube on the snow. Im in love with watching videos just like this. Im way too young to do anything like traveling but I just can’t wait until i have the chance to go out and be free and live like this. I’m a 57 year old hospice nurse in the southern US. It never snows here. I’ll never snowboard down a majestic mountain but THIS makes my heart race! Wow! THIS makes me feel alive!
I’m 57 and live in Western Australia and we don’t even have mountains let alone snow!The thing that keeps me alive is going snowboarding. I started when I was 38. You aren’t too old to learn. I keep fit because that is my goal to keep going. I’ve met people in their 70s who snowboard. I snowboarded in Chamonix last year. It was the last place I was at before the COVID-19 hit. I haven’t boarded for a year now and it’s been like breaking up with someone. There is an empty feeling and my heart feels broken. I have to watch films like Frozen Mind to keep me on track. To keep me alive and motivated and exercising. Governments have decided they need to stop me from travelling and lock me up for my safety. All I want to do is be at the top of a black run and fly down a mountain. I want to float on powder through trees. Fit and healthy, the virus is less of a problem then a double black in Chamonix for me! Go and try snowboarding. Get fit. Watch videos on KZhead. You get an instructor to hold your hands and you will be snowboarding in two days. There is nothing more magical gliding on powder along a snowy track with big flakes falling. As a hospice nurse, you deserve to be rewarded for everything you have done for others.
Running or hiking up a mountain is a good start. 🙂

I have current things that make it to where I can't if I wanted to but one day maybe. I really like the weather when it's cooler and not too hot. I've only seen snow in person 2 times. Both when I was growing up. I remember making a snowball and snowman and having fun. Lol

I’m 56 in the uk and snowboard twice a year every year . chamonix is special. It’s full of crazy limit pushers. When you know where to go it’s off piste terrain is a blast.

Damn. That was a really moving film. Stoked that we are able to watch this for free right here on KZhead. Thanks Victor, Pierre & Xav for making this, and thanks to RedBull for enabling us to watch it. Chamonix does seem to be on another level; the ability to step off a cable car, do some of these lines, and then be back in town for a mid-afternoon coffee is insane. Definitely going to have to take a visit sooner or later.
As someone who now lives (and snowboards!) in the Pyrenees, I love watching these videos of Xavier, Victor and their friends. Inventive, inspiring, respectful and hugely skillful riders, films like this and Twenty convey all the raw emotions of being in the mountains. Chapeau.

Congrats for the film. Immensely immersive. Kept me deeply emotional from the beginning to the end. Yours is a lifestyle I´m hardly fighting to have some day. In the meantime I deal with the pressure of time counting down every day that I spend my short youth living far from the mountains. You made me feel there. In December 2018 I skied both the French and Italian sides of the Mont Blanc/Monte Bianco Massif. Those few days were some of the best days of my life. One of my friends at home asked me what the best part of it was. My answer was simple - I felt alive. Starting at 26:42 until the end of the video... the combination of the music, the mountain scenery, and the narrator's words gives me that same tingling, energetic feeling I felt when I was there. It's sensory overload. I can't wait to go back one day! Excellent video!

the only thing is... I don't think RB contributed with anything beyond paying for the rights to distribute this awesome movie on their channels. If you check the credits, RB doesn't have any. It means, they were not on-board untill everything was ready and they check the finished product. basically, they did not do more than just throw money at the production team after every detail was finished/completed. zero involvement!
