  • Happy Holidays! I ended up creating another channel, it's just quick tips with music. If you like to check it out it's right here: kzhead.info/tools/i7sBZUzLLFzHlbJySrWLWA.html

  • For years my Christmas trees were in peril from kids and cats! I settled on a lasting solution. I put a small eyebolt in the ceiling (into a joist) and hang the tree with wire. The tree sits in water in a tree stand, hovering slightly above the bottom, lots of access to the moisture. After the tree is gone, a plant can be hung from the eye or just left 'til next year---you'll hardly notice it. senior from Canada

  • Those of us from Lunenburg county - AKA - "Balsam Fir Christmas Tree Capital of the World" never have a problem getting the cut level first time - we just line the chain saw up with the horizon (hint - the horizon is level enough). If your Christmas tree will not stand up plum then you have a "Divorce Tree" - best go to the lot and get a new tree before your partner files for a divorce because you ruined Christmas! I have to say I have never seen anyone scribe the bottom of a Christmas tree before! I like your very happy angle! I just hope the fasteners holding the big screen do not pull through the drywall - it would be terrible if the screen fell off the wall on to the tree! Great Video! Your tool suggestions are great too!

  • Watched this two days ago. Picked up our tree yesterday. I did this today. Now I owe you a beer. Easiest, least-stressed tree standing I have ever done. 👍👍

  • I love the idea of putting the stand on out in the garage and leveling it there. Thanks! Do you have a suggestion for a stud and pipe finder that works well, but is affordable (which is a relative term I know)?

    • I’ve always been a big fans of Franklin sensors, but they just find studs. I will be testing some of the sensors out in the nearish future.

  • Great video, but the stupidity of this custom makes me very sad and tears are flowing down my cheeks when I see a helpless beautiful tree cut from its root for no good reason. If aliens were to arrive and see this they'd question out intellect and probably think we're not worthy of contact.

    • Christmas trees, like other types of trees, absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere during photosynthesis. While individual Christmas trees have a relatively small carbon sequestration impact compared to mature forests, the cumulative effect of widespread Christmas tree farming practices of planting new trees each year has a significant positive impact on CO2 absorption.

    • Then it would make more sense to let them live and grow. And all the activities for growing and distributing them also produce CO2. If we want to cut down emissions, we ought to use nuclear energy. @@w49660
