Talented electricians rebuild a 635 KVA electric power transformer
Perhaps a cleaner dirtfree workplace/ environment would improve the service life of the product.
It looks too small to be a 635 kVA transformer,25 kVA is what it painted on the side of the transformer & that's what I believe it is !
This is 25 kva transformer I m transformer company owner and self worker in india
It looks like 50 or 75 kva although
I also keep wondering why these guys (very talented really) always prefer to work on the ground, keep crouching, bending their backs, dropping items in the dust, etc. They can build simple workbenches and organize and clean-up their tools, and create a decent working space with very modest cost. This would also boost their quality. STRANGE.
they are tallented but not professionals. it is more like a diy low cost power transformer
Not sure but this looks like the same crew that builds a fire and uses hammers and such to replace a frame section 😅n a truck, so it can be returned to service, the 2 ton truck hauling 6 1/3 tons.
the advantage of working near the gound is, nothing can fall down and gets probably destroyed (porcelain isolators for instance) 😅
Thank you now I have electricity to call people and scam them about their extended car warranty 👍🏿
This is a 63KVA not 635... And the cause of it is bad cooling oil (high water content in the oil)
they have limited resources, that's why they fix and forge some things. I saw another video from India, don't remember what they were fixing but in the end they putted the same old oil. I think it was a truck suspension.
Your knowledge very good
25kVA ;) just a little transformer… really bad work…
Well said. They did boil the oil, but that's not enough. The oil should be tested, you have to determine it's breakdown voltage. Oil samples should be taken regularly from transformers and tested.
Yes, 63 kVA, the primary current is 2,7 A. at 13,8 kv that is making sense for the wiring used. Otherwise, 635kVA the current would be 27 Amps.
Isn't this the oil that turns your property into a superfund site
good chance of it.
amazing work as always, I used to do some of this stuff and in Europe transformer oil (depends what kind) is generally regarded as quite dangerous to humans and can soak through the skin - take care and be safe
Well this is a huge problem ... and alot of countries take advantage of these less wealthy countries to do their dirty work ... one example is lithium mines ... the ore is mined by people making pennies a day often children ... sent to China for processing ... then bought as the final product .. thay way thi gs like carbon tax . Green house emissions , pollution don't matter
@@dunk5647 that is a very old transformer so it looks like it would only be used by the locals.
yes, there is a very good chance that is high PCB oil and they keep getting it on their hands. i work with transformers in the states. these guys need proper gloves but we all know they don't have them and even if they were given gloves they would not use them as they are used to doing things their own way.
When the EMP hits, Pakistan will be the first first to have the lights on.
O enrolamento é novo, mas o óleo isolante é reaproveitado? Se houve queima , o óleo fica levemente ácido.
Good example of why we have government protection for workers
Yeah I liked the tie a knot in the hoist chain part.
Very hardworking people. Gods only know what's in that transformer oil though. Even if it's one of the safer alternatives they're still not good for you. If it's PCB based, well...
if the oil is still full of pcbs they will have alot of health issues
Love the safety sandals! 🤣🤣
😂
I guess the lab gave a good oil analysis report. Talk about job security for the rewinders….
yes both the black lab and the chocolate lab were wagging their tails so you know everything is good to go.
That looks a lot like surge damage to me. In the event of a lightning strike, the transformers are not protected by surge arresters?
1:20 Where he puts the nuts after unscrewing them, that's a spark gap. And that's about the absolut most kind of "protection" there will ever be Also cooking the coils in oil will absolutely destroy the insulation of the enameled copper wire
I always love to observe the Indian OSHA steel toed sandal standards...
They are doing it in Lahore Pakistan. PEL written on transformer is engineering company Pak Electron Limited Lahore Pakistan
before it was assembled together it looked like a piece of industrial art.
We have the technology and the know-how. Mission accomplished and quality control passed the specs. Next time safety boots and rubber gloves: the transformer oils are not ecofriendly (indeed they are very poisonous to the body and to the fields)? Your lungs and body are not made of stainless steel.
Great videos to prepare for the Grid Down situation.....these boys are showing you how to repair stuff without having to buy new components.
25 KVA can’t be more clear 24:42
2:41 The transformer has 25 KVA. It even says so.
Looks like it came back for warranty work! 1:30 "Warranty Valid Upto 02:2024"
I didn't see any testing, plus how did you clean the oil?
There is no need for testing as some equipment to ensure the functioning of the transformer is pre-made, that is, from another of the same power.
They use the same 30 to 150 kVA transformer model in Brazil. I believe it must be an older model, as it was implemented in industries here in 1992. But this transformer is not 635 kVA due to the size and equipment system, but rather a 25 kVA one. (used translate)
Contiene pcb?
So what causes the transformer to go bad? Is the electricity damaging the copper windings as it gets old ?
Because of bad design and not so good material used....the efficiency should be quite low, also imposible 635 KVA, the transformer pretty small, should be only around 30 KVA
@@agustonogandasaputra7862 It says 25kVA on the winding assemblies at 2:43. They also don't do proper vacuum impregnation or core bake outs, so air void corona discharge and residual moisture can also kill them early.

Here in Germany some People glue their Hands on the Street because the are afraid of Climate Change 😅 in India they cook old Insulation Oil on open fire 😂
The units that they are repairing aren’t that old… and after watching their work no wonder. Still, the make do with what they have
Lovely to see these guys using so much PPE around transformer oil because it is horribly carcinogenic!
Barish ka phela katra girty hi in k transformers urny start hojaty.
I used to live in Richard's bay South Africa. Had lots of Indian friends there and I can straight up tell you they are very clever resourceful people very friendly and helpful.
This video is from pakistan not from india
i think it is from pakistan
tabarak hard working youngBoy
How come i can't find any videos of this work being done in usa
The EPA would shit their pants if they saw you boiling oil in a barrel. We do this sort of work and the machine used to do that same thing looks like a minivan-sized oil refinery on a skid 😂
@samiamm5764 lol I get that part about the EPA...I meant repair and reuse part
I sure hope that there are no PCB's in that cooling oil
Definitely does judging by how old the transformer is and the color of the oil maybe.
3:56 made in 2021??
What is the voltage in the electrical outlet in the house in Pakistan?
220 V
Sped up like it is, it makes these guys sound like Jawas from Star Wars, kinda disrespectful 🤔
The wire they are using is too thin for a main line transformer! The minimum wire diameter allowed is 2.5mm² of solid wire and not 0.75mm² like shown in the video!
Yes. This could cause accidents, such as power outages and transformer malfunction
You know watching this from the states and how the us is such a through away country it's awesome to see people out there rebuilding stuff. We use to do that here in the states not anymore. Great work guys.
You should really change the 635KVA misleading title
At min 13.10 I only see 25 kVA, a too great difference to the fullmouth announcement!
Muito interessante
635 ou 63.5kva?
Probably 25kVA lol
Amazing!!
Those liquids aren't toxic right
they are
It would be better with captions. Always wondered what was inside one of these. Now I know why global electric power distribution is so inefficient. I suppose "good enough" is "good enough". I think they could make more money by inventing new methods and materials. 25 KVA is not 635 KVA. Talent and ingenuity going to waste.
👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
It's probably full of PCB in the oil.
Yes, and probably they will live -70 years because PCB is toxic when in contact with humans
wow😮
Says 25kva on the side...
I cannot believe this is 635KVA ! Sorry. By the size of it, looks no more than 30KVA. Also the burnt out windings indicate bad protection provisions ?
2:41 The transformer has 25 KVA. It even says so. The guys certainly can't read.
Nanggung yg digulung ulang cuma yg kebakar, besok2 gantian yg kebakar..

PCB.
25kva
why dont use protection?. Guys, you dont need DONT using protection. Why you ruin your health?
wow
Amazing click
Step up transformers, require special treatment and proper waste disposal systems --- period
go and do it yourself then

Lol, wouldn’t have those guys even change a bulb for me.

Polychlorinated Biphenyls PCB health risks anybody? Cancer, liver disease ect...
Its 100kva
I work before transformer must have license for jobs safely yes if burn up will take to junk tear up and sell foe scrap copper and steel any thing to other company will put new one and other company put new oil and copper new thing will be good ground no good
You can’t even write properly so I doubt you have done anything “I work transformer” licence work before.
I am expecting to see them rebuilding a pacemaker soon......seems like there is nothing they can't fix.
Today on dystopian repair shop...
Nice
