I don't know why everyone loves the butter the most, to me it's the drink that pours out of and back into the glass, perfection.
The drink was cool too! but the butter and candle I’ve never seen before which I thought was clever ☺️
The butter was just a super original concept, the drink is just funny. But the hammer almost dropping on the laptop, then the smaller hammer hitting, then it being pulled off the table anyway just killed me.
Joseph: did you get that? Camera man: wheres the record button again?

The fact that he fed the baby is so cute xD
He is not only making amazing machine ,is also a best comedian who makes us laugh with his work.
I just love that at the end, you made a contraption to put a cherry on the top of the cake, only for the kid to pick it off and chuck it to the side.
Yeah he was into the cherry. Probably cause it was a marble
Joseph's Machines Haha it's still hilarious to watch. Just to let you know, this was an extremely good video and I subscribed after watching it. Good work!

The cake and butter contraption was genius.. but this had me giggling when I saw the plants start flying off the shelves 😆
I never would’ve thought of the juice and the scale contraption! That’s brilliant!
Love how the wheel passes over his head and he's so non-chalant about it
The butter was absolutely genius
Tom Higgins yeah i was mined blown😂
I can't puzzle out just how the candle transfers to the railway wagon at 0:43 When I freeze-frame single-stepping the sequence using > and < keys, it's a mystery to me what causes the leading edge of the candle to lift when it does, and what causes it to then move so far away from the camera
Gottenhimfella theres a magnet that grabs the cadle holder
Gottenhimfella the trolley that carreys the magnet is also released by a little trigger that the butter slider hits
Thanks, Tom, I hadn't spotted the magnet.hiding in plain view. Now I can get on with my day!

I love this one! Few things I can't figure out 1) How that candle hops onto that train, 2) how that cell phone slides into the plug hard enough so as not to disconnect after it calls off the slide and 3) how that plant reaches up and grabs the chandelier.
The candle moves because a magnet on the train pulls it over. (I had to watch again to figure that out, too!)
This guy did all these stuffs just to get the pie that is right beside him. Makes so much sense to me.
The attention to detail in this video amazes me. There are so many little things that I didn't even notice on my first viewing. First, I love the way you hid the potato behind the card that was holding it in place. Then, making it so the potato ends up on your plate after it spills your drink was so clever! I also love how you were careful not to prematurely reveal that the phone was connected to the laptop. (I assume that's what the digital zoom was for.) The effect with the pots getting yanked out of the shelf was great too. It was such a cool idea to have the first row of pots fall twice. Finally, I think my favorite part is the cherry (or red marble) at the end. The way you use the rebound from the cake made it feel so nonchalant and spontaneous. To add to that, I really appreciate how well you hid the orange string that the triggers it. Using the double sided tape to grab the string was also brilliant! The fact that I could never have predicted the effect made it so much better. Congrats on an absolutely wonderful machine!
Wow such a detailed response! The double row of pots was inspired by Sprice Machines, he did a similar thing with chains of beads. The cherry was challenging, I had to use a red painted ball because cherries don’t really roll lol. Also the orange string is picked up with Velcro, my best friends. Amazing you even noticed that though, most people don’t know how the cherry is triggered
I honestly thought it was a Jaffa
@@JosephsMachines The laptop was being charged but then when it felt down it was unplugged. Any thoughts?
INSANE. The glass trick with the juice at the beginning was mind blowing. Did NOT expect you to reuse the glass. Also, the theme of danger in this machine is really entertaining. There's stuff falling everywhere and breaking and you almost got hit with a wheel and a chandelier. It's a cool relationship between a man and his machine that makes this so much more enjoyable to watch.
Thanks bud. I'm happy I got to keep my head too.
I have to ask... Is the baby playing next to the plug socket intentional? :P
i am not sure how to reply to that

Watching this video is part of my daily routine.
The innovative mechanics that seamlessly connect the machines are amazing.
As you predicted, this was definitely your best work yet. I loved every second of this, everything felt so whimsical. The highlights for me are definitely the juice collecting back into the glass, the giant wheel, the chandelier, and the literal cherry on top at the end. I love your full-length machines, and I'd love to see some more long ones like this in the future! Keep being amazing!
Thank you jackofallspades glad you appreciate it, it was a lot of work (fun though)
Couldn't agree more. I think whimsical is a perfect description.
The highlight for me was THE BABY
And the melting butter ,,, brilliant!
jackofallspades to answer your question about how aware I am of the chain-reaction community, I watch those videos frequently and am always SUPER impressed, there are some crazy tricks people are inventing and it makes me really happy to see them! It's so cool that there even is a chain-reaction community. When I started making videos 10 years ago that didn't exist. The use of knex and toys means you can make complex things really quickly. I guess the downside is it probably has a more niche audience? I feel like the use of everyday objects makes it easer for the average person to connect with the work?
At 2:10, when the baby comes along, you just see the broken laptop in the corner!!
At 2:10 just see what happens in background

MLBB Papa_Dave THE PHONE...
This is the best Rube Goldberg machine I've seen in action. The juice spilled then poored again, the melting butter, the tricked expectations (hammer on the laptop and pendulum suddenly stoping), the child doing what they're known for...
The baby is also gonna be a super genius in future. Just love your videos soooo much!
A cake needs: 1. A Baby 2. A Phone 3. A chandelier And cost: 1. A laptop 2. 9 small flower pots 3. And probably a head
@@TheStickyWrapper It's not even a computer, it's a laptop. It's also listed above.
were's the chandelier?
WOW. So true to Rube's originals: especially with the candle and the baby (though Rube tended to use monkeys, I guess)! I got a huge kick out of the: hammer to laptop, wait, no it's safe; tiny hammer presses spacebar; ...; laptop is flung from table! (I can only hope it was secretly saved off screen.) Genius, all around. Thanks!
The laptop looks pretty damaged at the end when the baby is on camera eating cake - unless Macs fold out all the way...
The macbook on the table has a small black dot on the right hand side by the arrow keys, probably to line it up with the rest of the setup. The broken macbook on the floor has no black dot.
It is not a Windows machine... Most windows laptops fold out all the way.
