    • Yeah they look cool and stuff but they waste a precious 7 seconds of my time and now I don't want to play the project because every time I get stuck in a wall or something like that I have to sit through 7 seconds of flashy colours and stripes. Also people can just delete the one sprite that makes up the intro so it's useless in preventing copying of the project. Edit: Except that one time I figured out a project was just a stolen one from another person because the stealer was too dumb to remove the intro somehow. But if the person stealing your project has a brain, they can and will just delete the one sprite that makes your thumbnail.

  • To be fair, the reason why I came to realize that intros sucked was because whenever I programmed a collaborative project that required 2 intros to play back to back, it got annoying because I’d have to sit through it every time I play-tested the game upon boot. Ever since then, I either shorten intros to less than 2 seconds, or make it so that you can skip it.

  • Something that REALLY helped me when making attacks is making a clone ID. so if u don't wanna make a lot of costumes u can make a variable only for that sprite named "ID" and if "ID" = number means u do something.

  • Ok this one is really important and triggers me alot, ADD SHADOWS TO YOUR GAME. these help like, alot, even if the art is bad in general, shadows just make them better. I recommend using scratch addons to add the opacity slider, with which u can just duplicate a sprite, lower its opacity (I recommend shadows to be 22 opacity) and move it to the needed angle (Use arrow keys for it. Arrow keys are better for slight movements)

  • The biggest mistake is to stop on Scratch. After Scratch go to Construct, then learn C# and go to Unity or UE)

  • not all intros are bad, for example inker's intro. it looks cool

    • Yeah intros can look cool, but they prevent you actually using the project until it's over

    • @@donut_ask yeah, you are right. to fix that the owner needs to make a system that if the player presses the green flag the second time the intro should be gone. and its pretty simple. you set a value to 0 manually, and everytime flag is pressed it increases by 1. and if its over 1 the intro dosent show up. simple, right?

  • The only reason why your old games are bad is because of your mind. for example, when you plan to make a great game such as a better version of crystal seeker, you end up with a boring maze game. so please have a better mind. And watch lots of tutorials.
