  • probs gonna buy this. I just finished my Games Design course at college and we didn't get enough experience with 3DSMax and Mapping (had to learn almost all of it from YT and Forums (fun..)), so this will really help with my Uni course, Games Software Development, cause I need a few more models to work with. I have a house on moving legs, a man with three legs, and a fat transformer (like bulkhead). And yes, the UV tutorial- we all hate it but it has to be done. I'm just thankful you'll be doing it in full.

  • Hi its me again, I had a chance to buy this & went thru it, learned a lot man thanks for everything. I have a question though, during the texturing phase where you add in some more detail using the normals that come with substance and just stamping them into place where you want well my question is do you know of a way to create these on our own? Like if I model some of these in Max how do I convert them properly so that I can add them to the custom textures list?

    @XTheDentist@XTheDentist6 жыл бұрын
  • Dude, this looks amazing! Are you making another tutorial? If so then can it be on military vehicles such as helicopters, jets or tanks? It doesn't have to be that it's just a suggestion lol

  • I don't know if you do character modelling or not but if you do then you should make a character modelling tutorial, like modelling in 3ds max, sculpting in zbrush, cloth modelling in marvelous designer, and substance for Texturing etc. It'll be really helpful for so many people cause your tutorials are AWESOME, you do it better than anyone. Please please please, people need you. AND it will sell,definitely.

    @halo2masterX@halo2masterX6 жыл бұрын
    • Hello Chrille! Glad you like the trailer, I know people were able to follow my tutorials in Maya but I don't know how well it would work in Blender. I never worked with it so hard for me to say yes or no. However Blender doesn't seem to have something like the quad chamfer modifier.. so if you ask me I would not recommend trying to follow with that.

      @ChamferZone@ChamferZone6 жыл бұрын

    @vineetkumar5081@vineetkumar50816 жыл бұрын
    • Hello Vinitron, the speed in the video of all my tutorials is never fast forwarded but the actual speed. It's the trademark of my tutorials, never fast forward and never skip anything so that you get to see the full picture. I also avoid heavy use of shortcuts so you can follow with ease.

  • How do you know when to use white mask and when to use a black mask in substance painter? And how does the order in hierarchy affect the actual material?

    @Wenedi@Wenedi6 жыл бұрын
    • Hello K1TT3N, it's really simple. The white mask will just be a mask that doesn't erase anything unless you use a black color brush to paint on it. The black mask will erase everyhing unless you use a white brush to restore it. The hierarchy is just a matter of putting your base materials first and then add all detail layers on top. That way you keep it nice and clean.

    @ECCDamianBerek@ECCDamianBerek6 жыл бұрын
    • Hey BPS, that selection highlight is not the wireframe. The thing I turned off is that annoying blue glowing bracket that they introduced a few max versions back. Wireframe view can be toggled if you hit F1,F2,F3, F4 etc.

    @fernandodiaz5867@fernandodiaz58676 жыл бұрын
    • From the product description-- 3Ds Max - Modeling The modeling part covers the scene setup followed by the low and high-poly modeling in which we make use of advanced actions, modifiers and tools to help us create the battle mech. After the modeling process we will jump straight into the UVW Editor and focus on the importance of an optimized UV-Layout to get the maximum out of our later texture.

    @shubhamdhoot3999@shubhamdhoot39996 жыл бұрын
    • Hello Shubham, I did a bunch of environment art modeling in the past chamferzone.com/ you can put the filters here to Crytek and you will see the environment work I did for crysis 2. In the end the techniques I show here are 1:1 the same but of course environment art has a bit of a different approach to it too (lots of tileable textures and so on). I have plans for an env tutorial at some point but it will take a while to get it done.

    • Might be worth it to redo it honestly, for me it ruins the professionalism of the entire video and would make me question the credibility of the tutorial itself too! I'm sold though, I was recommended by a friend :D It's up to you in the end

    • Unfortunately I can't just replace the existing one with a fixed one here on youtube. If I delete that video and reupload it on youtube all comments are lost, also this video already links to a bunch of different sites so unfortunately I have to deal with it in that case. For future tutorial trailers I will make double sure to scan for typos though. Thanks for the heads up though ;)

  • I did not understand one thing from your mech tutrial. As I know Ngons are a big problem when it comes modelling for games. In this tutorial of yours you absolutly ignored that fact, you left a lot of ngons all over the lowpoly mesh... Could you please tell me where your mesh could be used besides nice render picture?. Edit: It is so confusing with renaming part ...

However once this learning phase is over I'll go heavy steam on new tutorials and also including ZBrush then which I much look forward to :)

    @Wenedi@Wenedi6 жыл бұрын
    • Hello K1TT3N! A lot of people followed in Blender but I would still recommend to use 3dsmax for it, it's just one of the industry standard softwares for modeling and for that alone it's worth switching to it.

  • A bit of advice for people who may be new. I'd not bother with this. I mean I've been using 3DS Max for about 17 years and it sounds like this guy just recorded the video THEN narrated what he was doing. He goes pretty fast and I think that, anybody who is new to this, would have a hard time keeping up. Also the chamfer in 3DS Max 2020 doesn't have the same results as the one that he uses in Max 2017.

  • Any possible way you could make a free tutorial on modeling a handgun for beginners? I just started using 3ds Max looking to create weapons and assets for a game I want to make, and I have no idea where to start... any help would be 100% appreciated

    @TheMcSpot@TheMcSpot6 жыл бұрын
    • hey mate, so far I can only point you to my free knife and grenade tutorial here on the channel. A handgun would take quite some time to produce and would fall into the paid tutorial category. Also check out the trailer for my AKM tutorial here on youtube! It'll show you everything for weapon modeling.
