Your tutorials are extremely helpful, I can't wait to see your next videos. Keep it up Tim! you're one of the best!
Wow that looks awesome! Thank you Tim for providing something like this, and for making it an affordable price even for students like me! Can't wait to but it tomorrow. I really look forward to making something like this!
Thank you Crimzan, I am glad to read feedback like yours and certainly keeps me motivated to produce more!
Tim, you have really outdone yourself mate. Love the tuts. Thank you
Thank you for watching them Mark !
ONLY I CAN SAY, amaaaazing! I finish this hard course and a learn a lot. A dont know modeling, and texturing but with this course a learn a lot of techniques. Thank you CHAMFER!!!! Only i can recommend it! Buy it from Steam.
Fernando Diaz thx for the advice man!
Hello Fernando, only seeing that now. I am glad you liked the tutorial, thanks a lot for your comment! :D
Hi, Tim! You are a great artist 3d... I always follow your wonderful tutorials. It`s always rich in detailed, perfect, professional and still some free! So I could not stop buying this amazing Mech Tutorial. Even to cherish your great work for the 3d artist class. I just have to thanks... Differentiated work! Congratulations and thanks!
Hello Alessandro! Thanks so much for supporting my work, I appreciate it very much man! I will do my best to keep it up with the tutorials. Feedback like yours sure helps to stay motivated!
Hi Tim, thanks for return! 0.007... The James Bond number. Nice! lol
probs gonna buy this. I just finished my Games Design course at college and we didn't get enough experience with 3DSMax and Mapping (had to learn almost all of it from YT and Forums (fun..)), so this will really help with my Uni course, Games Software Development, cause I need a few more models to work with. I have a house on moving legs, a man with three legs, and a fat transformer (like bulkhead). And yes, the UV tutorial- we all hate it but it has to be done. I'm just thankful you'll be doing it in full.
Hey mate! Yes that tutorial should get you up to speed then. I know how it is, when I went to college I was also lacking a proper indepth course that guides me through a full complex object.
cheers bud :P
I would love to see a vehicle tutorial in the future. I am sure that this tutorial covers a lot of the same techniques, however, I am sure there are some tips and trick you could share! Also it is great that this tutorial is available on Steam. I will grab it soon!
Hey mate thanks! I certainly have plans for a vehicle tutorial. Probably a muscle car from the seventies. I can't say when yet but its on my schedule :)
Really great work mate
Perfect! Incridible!
Superb quality tutorials, i learned the basics under a week just from following your videos.
Hey Jezal, that is awesome to read! Much appreciated man :) More tutorials in the future!
Completed your ak47 brilliant tutorial Tim, now I will purchase this over weekend hopefully you can keep creating these in 3dsmax (can’t use maya)
Looking so great! Good work!
Hi its me again, I had a chance to buy this & went thru it, learned a lot man thanks for everything. I have a question though, during the texturing phase where you add in some more detail using the normals that come with substance and just stamping them into place where you want well my question is do you know of a way to create these on our own? Like if I model some of these in Max how do I convert them properly so that I can add them to the custom textures list?
Dude, this looks amazing! Are you making another tutorial? If so then can it be on military vehicles such as helicopters, jets or tanks? It doesn't have to be that it's just a suggestion lol
I don't know if you do character modelling or not but if you do then you should make a character modelling tutorial, like modelling in 3ds max, sculpting in zbrush, cloth modelling in marvelous designer, and substance for Texturing etc. It'll be really helpful for so many people cause your tutorials are AWESOME, you do it better than anyone. Please please please, people need you. AND it will sell, definitely.
Good tutorial how open new aspects of high quality modeling .
Yay! Looks great
got this line up to buy when I get my next pay check, super hyped for. I'm at the point where I could just make this on my own but it would take me more like 30-40 hours, so it's gonna be really interesting to see how I can improve my workflow and what techniques I maybe overlooked or neglected.
Hey yoeri! Glad to hear it and let me know how it goes! You can always post wip in forum.chamferzone.com and receive feedback as you go :)
I most certainly will!
Looks great! Already bought it. Just finished the AK tutorial a few days ago.
Glad to hear it bassage and thanks for buying. Let me know how it goes for you. In case you ever get stuck the best place to ask questions is forum.chamferzone.com
Already a member on your site. My name is "thirteen" over there.
Oh nice ! Yes of course and quality work by you! :)
Thanks! I've been modeling for years, but my texturing skills are lacking. I'm using your tutorials to get me up to speed.
can i buy this from steam ,thanks. (love your work sir ^_^)
Amazing!
this looks sweet! looking forward to this one, wanted to do a mech for some time now 😉
Good to hear and I had a thing for Mechs ever since ed209 from Robocop :)
You are the BE(A)ST! Keep it up!
haha thanks man, will keep it up and thanks for watching/following!
I realy wish that i had money for this course. Thank you for inspiring us.good work....amazing
It dropped! Yes!
I would like to purchase this but I only have access to 3ds Max 2011. Will I be able to follow along or do I need current version of max? Keep up the good work. Thank you.
god sent you to save people like me... Love you Tim
It`s amazing!
This looks good
Hey, i really like this robot but i use blender. Is it make sense follow this tutorial in 3dmax nowadays? Will you do more tutorials in blender as your last tutorial with revolver ?
Love You Master ❤️ ❤️
Amazing
Hello.great job man👍.It's cool.🤩 But most of modelers use reference images for modeling I want to model my own model from my own consept.how can I do it? How I can make my own blueprint?🙂
Will there any new tutorial come or not...... I m eagerly waiting for ur new course
Must buy ! :D
So good :)
This looks amazing! I am working in Blender and have dabbled a bit in substance painter, would this tutorial still be useful for someone that doesn't work in 3ds max? :)
Hello Chrille! Glad you like the trailer, I know people were able to follow my tutorials in Maya but I don't know how well it would work in Blender. I never worked with it so hard for me to say yes or no. However Blender doesn't seem to have something like the quad chamfer modifier.. so if you ask me I would not recommend trying to follow with that.
Okay thx for being honest :) I might buy something you create in the future instead.
Just purchased the tutorial. I'm a Blender user who wants to switch over to 3DS Max, so i am a 3DS Max beginner will i still be able to get the most out of this course?
Hello WASD gamer, sorry for the late reply. I think that this is my easiest to follow tutorial so far and my goal is always to make it as smooth as possible for beginners. I hope that you will have an easy time, if you get stuck you can always sign up at forum.chamferzone.com and start a help thread :)
thx Tim !!!!
Thanks for watching and following the channel here !
Cool! You are the best!
Thanks for watching Vlad! Much appreciated.
please tell me if the recording of the process is in real-time or a time-lapse i won't mind if its fast forwarded 1.5x or 2x but it'll matter to me if its more than that and i hope the no part of the process is skipped
Hello Vinitron, the speed in the video of all my tutorials is never fast forwarded but the actual speed. It's the trademark of my tutorials, never fast forward and never skip anything so that you get to see the full picture. I also avoid heavy use of shortcuts so you can follow with ease.
Gosh finaly some new content
That stuff just takes so much time to produce, once I am an old man whipping in my chair I ll get mech flashbacks !
ChamferZone Its fine haha, i am for quality over quantity anyway , keep it up
This is amazing! Do you have any plans to do something similar with Maya?
hey Burrito! Sadly I don't because I never worked with Maya. However I want to expand my tutorials to ZBrush soon :)
How difficult would it be to follow along using Maya with this course?
How do you know when to use white mask and when to use a black mask in substance painter? And how does the order in hierarchy affect the actual material?
Hello K1TT3N, it's really simple. The white mask will just be a mask that doesn't erase anything unless you use a black color brush to paint on it. The black mask will erase everyhing unless you use a white brush to restore it. The hierarchy is just a matter of putting your base materials first and then add all detail layers on top. That way you keep it nice and clean.
waiting for more tutorials including car modelling
how do you get it to move when its done
Please do m4 carbine & kar98k
Sir tim do u know quixel suite... I like to see some more tutorials from u ... U r just a amazing sir.. + no cut outs from video... Thats make ur videos outstanding.. also apologizing for asking. .. i know u r busy in ur work......and it's take time
Thank you mate! At the moment I have no plans to switch over to a different software. I know quixel is amazing, no doubt about it but it would mean having to switch back to using Photoshop and all that. I prefer Painter because its a standalone software and we use it at work too. Because of that my tutorials circle around Allegorithmic products :)
ChamferZone lol i m now good like u 2%of u sir😂😂😂
Wish to become pro like u
You can start with my tuts and then take it from there :) All a matter of practice!
ChamferZone i already completed both akm n mech tutorials but 3ds has so many modelling tool which need to master... One day i will make some art like u n give u my portfolio ..but it needs practice ...this is chamferzone tutorials where i know how to do 3d modelling really. I have take other courses too but left attention or didnt understand their way of teaching u r my inspiration n teacher ..i have no words multiply 100000 x100000=my thanks
I want toolbag so bad... lol great renders saves a lot of time in PS
Oh yeah... gotta love Marmoset!
Is it normal when my laptop took more than an hour to bake AO and thickness maps? And I have a pretty decent laptop (GTT2VR 6RE dominator pro MSI with GTX 1070)
Hello Phong, that is probably normal but make sure you have your AO bake settings put to a 2x2 anti aliasing :) Or else it will just die on you.
ok i have a question you turned off that selection highlight at the very begining but your planes still shows up even with backface culling ... how ? i mean that white frame border lines
Hey BPS, that selection highlight is not the wireframe. The thing I turned off is that annoying blue glowing bracket that they introduced a few max versions back. Wireframe view can be toggled if you hit F1,F2,F3, F4 etc.
Cheers man ;) it is my 2nd time i ever used 3ds max, your tutorial is amazing. well done ;)) and about my other comment it was my fault ;) not issue with tutorial
Glad you like the tutorial! :) And no problem, it;s only natural to have a lot of questions as a beginner. The best place where I can help you if you have any future questions regarding the tutorial is forum.chamferzone.com :)
i joined your discord as got stuck and cant find solution on forum :(
Hey BPS, the discord was a community wish and I don't really have the time to idle around there all day and take questions. However if you post one in the forum you can be sure that I'll answer it there. I just need to bundle my time and the forum is the perfect platform for it. :)
team! Are you willing to create a Weapon material tutorial using the substance?
Hello mate, you mean substance designer? I have to be honest I am not up to speed with substance designer (yet). Because I mostly create weapons at my daily work Substance Painter is all I need. I want to learn Designer though and then I ll also make a tutorial, I just don't have a time frame for it yet.
Holy shit!!
Hey its me again :D i think i am not the only one who struggle following your tutorial when its 5th video with smoothing groups on main body part as even i did all as you i am getting different result sometimes edges are rounded instead of get nicely smoothed as you did, could you possibly make some extra video about that ?
Hey BPS, I am sure I can help you out with any issue you have. All I am asking is please sign up at forum.chamferzone.com and provide a screenshot or two of whats going on. Sorry to hear you have troubles along the way, we will sort it out.
ChamferZone will do in a second ;)
posted new thread named autosmooth help in tutorial help
Nice nice! Yes it was the min angle thing after all then. Thanks for signing up!
@@ChamferZone i know its been a minute but could you explain what the issue was?. The forum linked above is down.
I WANT BUY THIS but... Does the robot model itself from zero?
From the product description-- 3Ds Max - Modeling The modeling part covers the scene setup followed by the low and high-poly modeling in which we make use of advanced actions, modifiers and tools to help us create the battle mech. After the modeling process we will jump straight into the UVW Editor and focus on the importance of an optimized UV-Layout to get the maximum out of our later texture.
+Fernando Diaz Yes! He would teach you everything including modeling from the very begining.
Sorry late reply, yes everything is covered. Step by Step!
Thanks for Steam version.
They really made it a pretty awesome streaming platform by now. It's right up there with udemy and all the others. :) Glad you like it.
The biggest advantage for me is regional prices that Steam provides :) Not everyone in Russia is a pirate :D
Plzz vehicle course.... if u r going to make .plxx make it
max 2019 now , its outdated?
I just wanted to ask that would this help me in product design and interior design modelling ?
Hello Shubham, I did a bunch of environment art modeling in the past chamferzone.com/ you can put the filters here to Crytek and you will see the environment work I did for crysis 2. In the end the techniques I show here are 1:1 the same but of course environment art has a bit of a different approach to it too (lots of tileable textures and so on). I have plans for an env tutorial at some point but it will take a while to get it done.
ChamferZone definitely looking forward to that ! Thanks
+Shubham Dhoot This kind of model in the video is more complex than typical interior models. After you finish this tutorial I'm sure you'll find modeling modern furniture much easier.
Feel the same way about it, that's the reason why i gave it a thought in the first place. My concern is regarding substance painter. Like whether or not will I be able to use the skills learnt from this in my interior models for render
Shut up and take my money! =)
Mine tooo!!
Are you on UDEMY? I see the AK, but not this on UDEMY.
Hey, I haven't uploaded it to udemy yet but steam is basically 1:1 the same and I have it on there in episodic format.
ChamferZone coolio...I kinda like to keep all my training under one roof. I'll just wait for when you do Udemy. Thanks again.
What is a great soundtrack in the video?!
Hello! The music is from my brother. You can check out here in its full version :) Glad you like it. www.proudmusiclibrary.com/de/titel/cyborg-conference
Do you cover baking in substance?
More then in any other tutorial so far yes ! :) I will also still release a baking special episode at some point for youtube.
ChamferZone thanks! I loved your ak27 and Blade, but you skipped over the baking. Looking forward to getting this. Thanks again
+ニック I watched all of his tutorials and found he didn't skip over it.
i love you!!hahah
ChamferZone are you for hire i could use you in the upcoming months i would like to have you make some personal fps assets for your own price if you wouldnt mind thanks for the time
Hey petriboys, I appreciate you asking me but I am fully occupied with tutorial creation already. Keep in mind I do that only in my spare time to begin with, I have a full time 3D Artist job at Digital Extremes so I gotta put my free time wisely. Teaching is what I prefer at that point of time.
If i bought that tutotorial the video is online or it can be downloaded ?
Hello, you will be able to watch it from anywhere if you get it from Steam. The same should be the case if you get it on Gumroad unless it tells you that you can't pay. The tutorial on steam is for streaming only. If you get it there you can message me through facebook.com/chamferzone and I ll send you the link to google drive for download.
that mean i will buy the tutorial on steam then u will give me a link to download it via google drive
absolutely, since steam does not have a download option on its own I upload all my tutorials to google drive. I had a lot of people that messaged me because of that (who bought it on Steam) . I prefer to watch tutorials offline too so I make sure to give everyone the link who asks. :)
is "highy" a mistype there at 0:36 ?
Holy crap... I watched that a thousand times to rule out typos but here we go! Never noticed until now, lol! Too late now :P
Might be worth it to redo it honestly, for me it ruins the professionalism of the entire video and would make me question the credibility of the tutorial itself too! I'm sold though, I was recommended by a friend :D It's up to you in the end
Unfortunately I can't just replace the existing one with a fixed one here on youtube. If I delete that video and reupload it on youtube all comments are lost, also this video already links to a bunch of different sites so unfortunately I have to deal with it in that case. For future tutorial trailers I will make double sure to scan for typos though. Thanks for the heads up though ;)
hi, i want retopology(for mobile game, around 1500 poly) tutorial of this or any other high resolution model with more than 400K Polygons
is that possible can you create course on it?
Heeey gumroad isn't available in my region, can u put this on Steam please? :D
Hello good Sir, sorry only now come arround to follow up with comments. It's on steam already by now and also on cubebrush :)
Song Name? Pls :)
I did not understand one thing from your mech tutrial. As I know Ngons are a big problem when it comes modelling for games. In this tutorial of yours you absolutly ignored that fact, you left a lot of ngons all over the lowpoly mesh... Could you please tell me where your mesh could be used besides nice render picture?. Edit: It is so confusing with renaming part ...
Is this tutorial still viable?
Sir i need your help. i have trouble of baking normal map. this is really urgent .please.
Hi Tharindu, if you bought the tutorial and you have this problem then you can start a thread at forum.chamferzone.com and describe the problem. I will make sure to help you.
shit man, I already have like 30housr + in tuts waiting. staaahp XD. nah mate, looks great.
haha yeah one does not simply go through tuts (or produce them)
Are u going to make any newcourse
You can count on it Manoj, I am just currently very busy with work and also learning a ton of new stuff on my own. (ZBrush.. which I never really got a foothold at before). However once this learning phase is over I'll go heavy steam on new tutorials and also including ZBrush then which I much look forward to :)
This course is for beginner or need to have knowledge to understand ?
I think I'm the only person that likes UV Unwrapping :(
haha! No no ! I like it too ;D It's a bit of a love hate replationship though.
you are not alone, i like it too.
that's probably because they are using a tedious tool for it :D I've been using unfold3d so far and I love it :) you can do pretty much the same in maya also, just make the seams and press unfold.
Love it! It is so relaxing
i like it to bro :D
do you still sell?
I want to buy thas but are she have bones
Do you think I would be able to follow it using blender?
Hello K1TT3N! A lot of people followed in Blender but I would still recommend to use 3dsmax for it, it's just one of the industry standard softwares for modeling and for that alone it's worth switching to it.
Is there a free version or is it paid only!
Hey, the last chapter of this tutorial is free. It's the one that shows how to make the renders. You can watch it over here: kzhead.info/sun/rd17psqrgZyrhJs/bejne.html
I meant the 3ds max software :D
Ahhhh ok =) Well you can sign up for a free student version yes! www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/3ds-max
A bit of advice for people who may be new. I'd not bother with this. I mean I've been using 3DS Max for about 17 years and it sounds like this guy just recorded the video THEN narrated what he was doing. He goes pretty fast and I think that, anybody who is new to this, would have a hard time keeping up. Also the chamfer in 3DS Max 2020 doesn't have the same results as the one that he uses in Max 2017.
Everybody is saying that MAX is dying in these days. What do you think about that sir?
Hello do you work for other people?
Hello ! I have a full time job as Weapons Artist at Digital Extremes. I work on their latest game. www.playkeystone.com/ :)
But needed a personalized job could be?
?
dude?
Hi joao, sorry mate, was on vacation and unfortunately I don't have time for any freelance work ;/ Sorry about that but the tutorials have all my attention in the spare time!
why this guy dont do the tutorial in MAYA ?
Because he uses 3ds max?
I knew there went a lot of work and hours on it.
Too much my friend! Too much but it was all worth it and once I was in the middle of it.. there was no going back :D
Wenn ich das geld hab dann kauf ichs mir, welche neue techniken hat es gegeueber das AKM Tutorial hat es neue sachen zum lernen :D
Any possible way you could make a free tutorial on modeling a handgun for beginners? I just started using 3ds Max looking to create weapons and assets for a game I want to make, and I have no idea where to start... any help would be 100% appreciated
hey mate, so far I can only point you to my free knife and grenade tutorial here on the channel. A handgun would take quite some time to produce and would fall into the paid tutorial category. Also check out the trailer for my AKM tutorial here on youtube! It'll show you everything for weapon modeling.
Irayo si
hopefully the tutor didn't use any external bonus tools or something like that.. which is hard to get...😅
You should upload more on youtube you can earn lot of money from it
You mean through youtube adsense? :) I gotta look into this.. I remember from when I once read up on it, it would have come down to some very small amounts so I don't even have ads on yet.
really*
Someone just stole the domain of your website....
The bad thing about ur tutorials r people download it from 3rd party sites.. dont understand ur effort n giving up of spare time...... Hopefully one day all these will be permanently ban n i buy it becoz of ur effort even i cn download but that is not fair with ur effort ....
I know man.. it sucks. It's a fight I can't win these DMCA takedown notices take super long to process, the moment one is down they reupload it within half an hour. If I'd get money for every pirated version I could already retire. But it is how it is, piracy will always be there. Enough honest people out there still :)
too bad its in 3ds max.. everyone moves to maya these days and 3ds max feels like out of place..
