I'm trying to be cool about the fact that I FINISHED painting the green room (Foyer)! You all must be mind-numbingly bored seeing that room all the time! Well, my friends, the torture is over! The room is done! We had another adventure painting tiles in the powder room, a controversial move.

The room is just lovely. Since you're much more sensitive to "the colors inside a color" than most people, no once else will notice. The room is very elegant, fresh and soothing. What a gift your dad and Sheila are. (Sorry, I know that's not how she spells it.)
Wish we could watch so much more, but what your Father, Stepmother and You have accomplished looks so beautiful and rich. Get some rest everyone, and I can tell you're all enjoying your precious time together. Good work!

I think the new paint color goes well with the table top - I've discovered that I like it better when the colors are close but not a perfect match. It gives the room a little subtle variation, and makes it not so formal and predictable.
By the marble being darker it all falls in place you’re blessed to have your parents help one room down excellent!
The colors in the newly painted room are very soothing and beautiful. It’s going to be a very lovely room. The black looks way better than the red. Good job. Your parents really were rock stars!! xx

It is a beautiful color. It compliments the color of the table top. Once you have everything set on that room, you'll notice that color was the right choice. I compliment your father and stepmother for the good work done.

PS: don’t forget a tile sealant for durability. The tiles look great! Will you be painting the white ones as well? I love the idea of wallpaper! You should definitely display some of your art somewhere! Have you considered painting a mural somewhere? That would be amazing!
I think the dining room looks great. The plans for upstairs look cool. One suggestion: Reconsider the access to bathroom from the studio. If your bath is going to be a community bath, then separate toilet + sink from rest. Otherwise, have folks access their own toilet or go downstairs. Also, I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to make studio a bedroom and convert other abundant space on property into a studio. Finally, I thought the blue shade on the left for shutters was stunning and reminiscent of the French blue we all love. Anyway white is aplenty at your place, it gets dirty easily and quickly, and you’re in France, break it up a bit.
Remember: you’re looking a the first layer of the room. When you bring in paintings, mirrors and furnishings…it’ll be stunning.

How blessed are you, that at their age they're on the floor painting and doing so much before their return home. It's a pity your sister stayed for a short time, she was quite entertaining.

Abigail, the salon looks fantastic. I love the green and think it co-ordinates well with the marble top. Green-grey is always tricky, a lesson I learned the hard way. I continue to use it anyway. Loved the music during the time lapse.Your parents are terrific painters too. It's amazing how the sample paint on the shutters quickly gets you to your decision. The light green on the top right looked good but so does the white. Great progress.

The green room is going to be the favourite spot to hang in. The floors are really popping , so at least it matches the tiles. The table will have stuff on it right? Large vase with flowers, pamphlets, business cards, etc.. so it won't be as noticeable. You can always throw a tablecloth over it. The bathroom floors look fabulous . A protective coat of something for sure as everyone else says. The place is really taking shape. The greenroom is my fave.

Have you narrowed down when your artist retreats will begin? So excited to hopefully one day meet you! People in the states paint tile all the time! There are several videos on tic tok and KZhead for guidance. It’s your house so make it be what you envision not what everyone else envisions. Stay the course to make your dreams a reality. Fusion mineral paint will stick to tiles, there’s plenty of examples of ppl painting tiles & not scratching off. Your parents painting is quite the accomplishment, their enthusiasm with projects is to be admired. Treasure that.

Your parents are so fun. I hope there's a sealer coat of something for that bathroom floor bc it looks great! The front room downstairs, its so beautiful as well as the room you want to turn into a studio. I'd make those two areas offset on either side of the stair reading/sitting areas. That's such a peaceful spot. An office area would be great too. So much good stuff!!!

I think the colours go so well with the floor and fireplace. A big mirror would be good, matching the metal on the fireplace. All looking lovely.

Slide the table with the drop cloth. It works great. Floor may need a clear top coat. I like it.

The color is beautiful in the green room. I would leave it as is, at least for a while. Especially since it doesn't sound like you are filling that room with a ton of furniture, so repainting will be easy. I am curious what you end up doing on the shutters. Personally, I would probably paint a color. There is already a lot of soft white going on on the house, so I think the contrast might be nice.

The upstairs where you have the red furniture studio on the opposite, you can just add a bookshelf and small table for tea or coffee. Agh I love that your parent's are visiting and helping, such lovable family. The wall color and the trim colors look totally wonderful!!!! I love the result. I see your pov against the marble but I might suggest that the marble shouldn't be matchy-matchy to the paint color. I think that little sink is precious in the hall bathroom. The floor looks much better than the red. Please show us the toile wallpaper next time that you picked out for that room. I am getting so excited for you and thankful that your family paint team was there to help! So very exciting.
Exciting to see all of what you are currently working on! Love the creamy color of the entryway room. A nice improvement. As for the bathroom floor paint-I painted an old veggie lasagne colored linoleum floor in a 1950 ranch bathroom and sealed it with marine varnish. It did have a warmish tint to it but that only enhanced the color I chose. Super durable!

For me, a black and white tiled floor is the most classic, cozy, respectable thing ever. It always elevates the room. I do it EVERYWHERE!!!! Such a fun channel. Thank you. XOjennyinseattle

The newly painted room looks great! The color is good and what a joy to have your folks there to help! The painted floor tiles are good as well.......give it a go for now and you can always change it at a later date if it just does not work! As it is just a powder room......it's not a huge deal! The green painted room turned out so pretty. For the bathroom floor is there some type of clear coat that you could seal it with until you decide sometime in the future to rip it out? And for the upstairs area across from the red chaise, what about a nice little coffee station and a few chairs? Especially if you bump out the wall on the other side and lose that open space. Safe travels to your wonderful dad and stepmom!

The black tiles were a good idea from your parents. A quick cheap fix that is adequate [for the moment in the loo] and offsets the [expensive] wallpaper. A worthy experiment considering you have a way to go. 😺
Not to worry about the green, now you can add some more greens in between the two with accessories. The tiles look good. You may have to paint the floor tiles every year. The Toile with red will make the powder room amazing. Spending money on a powder room to give it the wow factor is always worth it.❤

Looks fresh and clean, I like the green on the doors. But it doesn’t have to be all the same green I guess. Looks good. My shutters on my 1965 home come off and they spray painted them black. The house is a “dove tail gray” they call it. It came out looking good. But the French must have there own popular colors for the exterior. That is a massive project you have. Love watching it, and such energetic parents you have. ❤️I would just put new tiles in the bathroom if the epoxy doesn’t work out. I took a class and I tiled my kitchen and back splash, if I did it anyone can! Lol 😝
The paint color is gorgeous - it’s hard to let go of your original vision (especially being a painter with your eye for color!) but as someone who always loves the Parisian green (Picasso museum doors and shutters?!) you nailed it!
Have you thought about putting a wax coating on the black painted tile? It may give it a shine to resemble the rest of the floor. Great job with painting in other areas too. It's so nice to have family there to get another perspective from someone who is actually in the building.

You can have wallpaper made for you out of your artwork/drawings, etc. Stephanie at Chateau LaLonde has done it in a powder room. I’ve made floor cloths using canvas and painted/stencilled them and verathaned to seal. They are awesome to customize an area too. LOVE what you are doing ❤
How wonderful that your mom and dad are visiting! They are very cute!
The lavatory is just so small of an area, keep going with the black paint on the tile (a few coats) and then seal the floor.(a few coats) It looks better than the terracotta. There's no bathing or showering going on in there so it should hold up fine for that small area. I wouldn't however, do this in your kitchen.
