The trick to beating the Kings is to score first and make them get out of their trap game and Edmonton can score in bunches. Should be an interesting series.
These teams are always neck and neck in their series, either side could have taken it any year Trap game vs high octane offense, but the X factor here is Mcdavid. I am not convinced LA can hold him back, but at the same time that LA roster is pretty deep and that can definitely factor into a 7 game series. If I had to pick I would go Oilers in 6 or 7, but wouldn't be shocked if the Kings win it.
everyone happy it not vegas
Definitely more confident but la could beat edmonton for sure
I’m not I wanted vegas. 😭
Don’t matter who..
@@Smokey_775Why?
@@prozac. have to smoke Vegas early. They are weaker at beginning. Plus the momentum they get from besting the past champ going to push them to the moon.
Time to make Will Feral cry. 💙🧡
I think Edmonton wins this series... BUT, LA plays that neutral zone trap style of game better than any team in the league. If LA can score first throughout the series, they have a better chance than some people think.
Heard those exact same excuses last year key words: IF
Alot of Ifs.
@@JACKAL747 only one, actually. And how many Cups have Edmonton won in the last 30 years? Kings, as an organization, have WAYYYYY more experience with success. Edmonton might go further this year. Or they might start playing like the team everyone said was "done" in November when they were 2-9-1 🤷 We can sit here and say "if" the Kings do this and "if" the Kings do that. But man, these Oilers have fallen apart enough times where I literally would not be surprised if they lost this series to LA, just caught up in the BS mentality of thinking they'll win a Cup after one bad game by LA (who were 7th in the West, btw).
From a KINGS fan... Mr. Button, you are now on the record
oh, bet he's scared now.
your show is quiet compared to the rest of youtubes videos. tell your sound guy to up the dB a few maybe
Do the Kings still have Rittich? Serious question, actually. Talbot let in 6, and while the Oilers weren't great defensively, Skinner was enough. They had Talbot take rest in February, and Rittich got LA's ONLY win in the (now) 5 games against. It happened to be a 4-0 shutout with Skinner in net and everyone healthy, so the Kings CAN win, but they might need to play outside of the usual suspects if they want to contain and overcome Edmonton. It doesn't help that McDavid started the playoffs hot and guys like Henrique stepped up. Hyman had a tremendous effort, and their power play continued to be just about as lethal as ever.
I am a little scared about the Oilers being able to beat the Kings a third straight time. There has to be the odd time when the Kings pull out an upset, even though they are outmatched, they have to be tired of going out in the first round to the same team again.
The Oilers are better than ladt year..... The Kkngs sre worse than last year...... Oilers in 5
GO KINGS GO
As an Oiler fan, I was stupefied at the decision to start Skinner in this game. He should have played the previous night in Arizona. I hope it doesn't come back and bite us.
I hope the Kings figure it out even if it takes 7 games and overtime.
Was hoping oilers would face vegas
They wont win if Skinner lets goals like that in, 4 goal on 6 shots dont cut it.
Oilers in six. Yes Stuart Skinner is better than old man Cam
Actually no...and Talbot can kick hass.
Did Button really say the Kings dont have the goaltending EDM does might want to check those numbers there Button LA has top 5 team goaltending (3rd GAA & 5th sv%) league wide LA's top 4 D are the most underrated in the league, and LA honesty is as good if not better down the middle, and really every player on the Kings are very underrated the system is only as good as players on the ice and LA knows what they need to beat them
If they know then why haven't they? The oilers are the superior team top to bottom. If the oilers can't beat the kings convincingly and in short order then they haven't progressed as much as they needed to from last year.
@@dnice4145 losses teach more than victories and EDM is only better offensively than LA, the Kings goaltending has better numbers and LA's D is considerably better, LA's PK is vastly better and the PP isn't all that far off EDM'S, the Oilers most certainly are not superior top to bottom than LA just scoring and LA allowed the 3rd fewest goals during the season the Oilers don't scare me like the Kings I've been looking foward to this rematch should be an entertaining series
@@rickyhazel1030 nah I've seen these teams compete over the last 2 years, the oilers are the superior team.
I think the Oilers win this in 6, possibly 5.
Better D than the Kings? I'm not sure about that. I would argue the Kings are deeper and are more skilled as a 20 person team, but McDavid is generational. No one on the Kings is as good as Leon, let alone Connor, and that's what seems to decide these past few series.
The Oilers still have 1 more 20 goal scorer than the kings. I would say the oilers are slightly deeper
That stats say otherwise. Oilers are top 3 in pretty much every defensive category since the coaching change
I know there are different stats and sites and what not, but I'm seeing the Kings gave up less goals per game, less shots per game, and had the 2nd best penalty kill in the league. I suppose I'm not basing it on a coaching change? Kings had one too. Should i just pull the stats from that?
Oilers in 6
@@AuSiE87and the head to head match up this year? This series is chance for the oilers to prove to themselves that they have actually matured to the next level and are ready to take the next step to the finals. They should have no trouble dispatching the kings if they are a serious cup contenders.
Stuart Skinner is a sieve
Skinner is a Prince Ruperts Drop.....under pressure he implodes extravagantly.

If refs stay out of it Oilers in 6 if they dont because 'Canadian team' then Kings in 5.
LETS GO OILERSSS!!!!
@@WildMan576Kings only won two games last year because of the refs. They would’ve got swept
I mean... I don't know how you can say that when the refs have historically heavily favoured the Oilers every single time the two clubs have played. To the point where it's almost meme worthy. But okay, you go ahead and blame the refs we'll just move on to the next round...
As an oiler fan getting sick of facing LA Kings. They are so bloody boring. Playoff hockey should be exciting. Trap hockey is a snooze fest.
Kings in 4. Skinner is a Prince Ruperts Drop. His lateral movement is sub-par and hes down to early to many times plus that high glove side is just open for business 27/7/365. I think the Oilers as a Team are far to undisciplined in terms of retaliation after the fact , that the Special Teams aspect may not be enough for them to beat the Kings because this dynamic will off-set PP and PK trends....there will be off-setting penalties more than usual due to the Maturity factor not being there in Game 1 and the Oilers will lose the 4x4 game.......in Game 2 Knoblauch will recognize the dynamic and he will switch and will play all Vets and get blown out....in Game 3 Skinner will start his 3rd Game which will end up being a Gond Show where they yank him and in Game 4 Pickard will hold them in a 2-1 loss. 4 up 4 down. Just like that. It is what happens when your Starting Goalie is banished to the AHL and you run with a Backup as your #1 Dog.

@@ethanbaranitsky61 Hey, I never said it would be easy, but the Oilers have yet to face a fully healthy Kings team this season. They are, in my estimation overconfident cocky (not without reason, though) divas who are due for a reality check and early 1st round exit. I could easily be mistaken, though. We will see. Time will tell, in the end it always does. Good luck to both teams and hopefully the zebras are not the deciding factor. (They tend to heavily favour the Oilers anyway. Lol Sorry I couldn't resist. I am a life long Kings fan who grew up in/around Edmonton in the 70s and 80s and I have spent my entire life being told by everyone I see and meet how stupid I am to not be an Oilers fan so it's hard not to be jaded and take little shots anywhere I can. 😉)

Fyi: I don't know how the Oilers can be a chicken if they have absolute zero control over the results of the Vegas performance that led them to their situation. LA fault for clutching their victory. Personally, glad that Vegas isn't playing the Oilers. Oilers would get knocked out in the first round. Statistically Vegas always screws the Oilers over and that's fact.
Maybe the oilers will beat LA. Maybe the Canucks will beat the Preds. Maybe. Be rest assured, Bettman won't let that happen. Far too much revenue to be had with two American based teams in the final.
