    • Right, little chance that musical note runs in your family. Start a band if you fall short failing to hit the big time perhaps you'll inspire future generations of angry teens not to lose hope. Have fun use caution.

  • My favourite album from this era and genre bar none. The perfect combination of metallic edge, melody, great vocals and songwriting. Their Friday Rock Show session blew me away and they then took forever to release this album on the obscure Belgian Mausoleum label (which to my knowledge has yet to release it on CD). This band (aka Black Axe) were so good some of their best songs never even made it on to this album. A completely obscure but outstanding masterclass in hard rock.

  • If you are hungry for more from them - there's also single with alternative version of Highway Rider and A Soul For The Devil. And BBC Friday Rock Show with four songs, including "Night From The Blue". Pity that BBC didn't release it on LP or casette!

  • My eyes are white fire, Wings of fear, go higher, The energy below, is ready to blow. Bells are ringing, Lucifer is dancing and singing, I see mountain cry, ready to die. See magician, No-one will ever reach him, The time has come, nowhere to run. The sun is shaking, And the heart of medusa is waking, As we fly, cover your eyes. With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you. Thunder beats the marching requiem, Land and sea by fire break away, Time is counting out, You are crying out, Le coup de gras is under way. With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you, standing at the edge of the world, With you.

  • Had this album back in 1984 (Mausoleum Records)... Bought it mainly because of the cover. Later had it burned to a CD-R (which I played the crap out of!) and finally got the re-release this past year. One of my favs from the NWOBHM times... Still play this one a ton and have the cover framed in my man cave! Favorite track is still "Highway Rider".

  • This has been the most complete LP, number one on my list, for about 15 years now. Yet, I don't think I've heard even 15 % of the words he is singing on it. Haha. Even though he has quite a clear way of singing and is English (even his last name), somehow, you just can't hear what he's singing :) This LP used to be at the front of my uncles' LP stand and I used to look at the cover when I was a kid. Didn't hear it until I was 15 or so.

  • This band used to be known as Black Axe . Great melodic Metal from the UK . Obviously a big influence upon the band Ghost

    • I'm not sure if Ghost ever heard of Wolf. If there are some random similarities they probably come from common influences like Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult and Mercyful Fate etc

    • I read an interview with the ghost singer and he said he's really influenced by nwobhm especially the bands with pop sensibility like Demon so I think you're right.

  • awesome metal album from wolf one of our best from the new wave of british heavy album. i love the riffs strong drum pattern on this album too. wonderful base and vocals too, it is heavy but not overkill heavy for a good solid metal band. kick ass album cover too. #nwobhmforever
