  • That was one helluva small town cop/deputy. He obviously genuinely cares about his job (40 yrs!!!) and the people in his community. Very calm and understanding, tried his best to deescalate and mediate rather than having to make an arrest. Stellar example of a damn good officer.

And she said she knew the officer and he said he didn’t know her. Even her husband said she just makes up stuff. So I highly doubt that’s true and wouldn’t accuse him or his son of abusing someone without a lot more evidence than a drunk rambling nonsense. For all we know the officer doesn’t even have a son.

  • My armchair diagnosis of the young lad is fetal alcohol syndrome. His facial features and speech pattern are pretty telling. Seems like a sweet kid. Its too bad his mom has probably had an alcohol problem his entire existence.

    • It could be his autism, too, but his seems to be a very mild case. I've worked with victims of fetal alcohol syndrome, and if it had been very severe, he'd have other problems besides cognitive or mental function problems.

    • There's something called fetal alcohol affected that has less effects than FAS. It's mostly undiagnosed learning disabilities, difficulty with emotional regulation, difficulty with relationships.

  • To Jason- You're going to get away from her one day. You'll see that life can surprise you in the best ways. You'll also struggle more than other people, especially during your recovery process. But, kid, i promise you that it you stick with it, go to counseling, and stay as far away from that piece of trash that pretends to be a mother as you possibly can, life is good. You deserve to have sometime tell you how proud they are of you and how much you brighten their life. You deserve better, so finish growing and take the world by storm. Go on adventures, get lost, meet people, and be kind.

  • I give that first officer applause for how cool he stayed without exerting a bunch of force and authority yet he stayed in control the whole time with the patience of my grandmother. Different situations calls for different approach of engagement but some notes should be taken from this guy by the ones who use their authority and have disregard for anyone not of their occupation or family.

  • The first responding officer is AMAZING! Poor kid has a hard road to traverse, but there is hope. I am definitely including him in my prayers, and the poor dog, too. I heard that puppy yelp when he was inside and I have the horrible feeling that he was not safe around that monster of a mother.

  • I paused the video and showed my daughter this woman and asked how old do you think she is. My daughter said maybe 65 or 70 years old. I told her she was born in ‘81 and my daughter’s jaw dropped and she said but dad you were born in ‘71 and she looks 20 years older than you. We both started laughing.

  • I actually grew up with neighbors like this! Both parents drunks, kids never having anything! My mom use to feed those kids, there were 5 of them. The mom and dad would take all the welfare money, this was in the late 70s early 80s, and go to the bar and drink it all up. I remember going over to their house and all they had in the cupboard was macaroni....no beds they slept on dirty clothes. My mom called cps several times and nothing was ever done. To this day, all those kids are raging alcoholics and have chaotic lives like this. Children are a product of their environment....so sad...
