Shirley Chisholm makes a trailblazing run for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination after becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress.
I am glad that the brilliant Ms Shirley Chisholm is being acknowledged. Thank you Regina!
Definitely made me cry at the end 😢 when the sister called her and said I love you and when everyone folded on her 💔 excellent movie. Regina was perfect for it.
It was a little more to that piece. Her sister said something to Shirley like.. 'Papa was right, you are special.' That takes some real guts when you have to admit you were wrong all along.
I still watch her speeches and interviews. I remember her when I was in 8th grade. Loved everything about her.
“When you see me comin’ into this CHAMBA, VANISH!” Yes ma’am! 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
Love that line🤭
One of the best movie on Netflix 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 great job Regina💜💜💜

I will never get over how we lost Lance Reddict so young. Pure icon.
I’m truly grateful for this film. Thank you Regina, Reina and everyone who was involved in bringing this film to life
I am so glad that this movie exposed to America an educated, confident, qualified, African American Woman caring politician, wife, sister, realist, daughter , and a woman of God! Regina thanks to you and your sister for holding on to the thoughts of telling this story. I have watched this movie ogre and received something wonderful and different each time. Blessings to you for this stunning story of Shirley Chisholm’s Presidential race. We need her NOW.
Awesome movie! I highly recommend everyone watch it! Regina was phenomenal!
Regina King did an excellent job🎉🎉🎉
I had no idea Diahann Carroll's involvement. So happy that she used her stardom to give back. Why were we not taught about Shirley in school?
To be fair many people cannot pull off a Bajan accent, dont know if they could have afforded Rihanna for the role lol. But i trust Regina's class has done the role justice. I look forward to watching the movie.
I really love this movie awesome 💪🏿🙌🏾💯🎯😎
Fantastic Black History Film. Thunder & Lightening 🌩
Forty-two five!!!!!!
🇧🇧🇧🇧🇺🇸🇬🇾 Brooklyn Born, Bajan Raised, Bajan & Guyanese🇧🇧🇬🇾 Parentage
Why give her a horrible Jamaican accent rather than a barbadian accent though? Lol...she spoke with bits of bajan not jamaican
Well I think she did the best she could. Lol! Some actors can do dialect better than others. The movie was excellent and made me learn a lot that I didn’t know about her. Brilliant and hats off to her for pulling it off
