Terrified Dog Finds His Happily Forever After

You may have been tracking the journey of a dog named Chase who arrived very scared and shut down. Today, that journey takes a most happy turn!
Chase has found himself a family willing to meet him where he is, and allow him to feel safe and grow at his own pace.
His new fur brother, Higgins, will help his journey tremendously. Something that nearly all of our rescue dogs have in common is that they feel most safe and secure with other dogs, but not always humans. Higgins will show Chase (soon to be Finn) that his parents are kind and can be trusted.
We can’t express our joy for Chase. He most certainly deserves his happily forever after. Congratulations, Chase! We’re so very happy for you.
Chase will go home just as soon as he has his neuter and dental. Home at last is coming very soon!

  • For the life of me, I cannot understand how a human can be mean to an animal. Especially a dog. Thank God there are loving people who give these animals a good life.

  • People don't seem to realize that when you adopt, these dogs have gone thru a lot and may take a lot of love and patience to bring them around, just like a human. So sometimes they cannot be judged by the first meeting. Thanks for loving him❤🎉😊❤🎉😊

  • This poor dog is so lucky to have owners who will love and take care of him for the rest of his life. Hopefully he forgets about all the horrible past he had with his last owners. Thank you for adopting this dog. I just hope and pray all other dogs in Shelters get adopted. ❤❤❤

I've followed Chase's story since he arrived at National Mill Dog Rescue and he seems to have had an incredible journey since, and in such a brief amount of time.   • Oh. He’s just like my Carlos who was a mill dog for 2 years. He is still afraid of the outdoors during the day. He will not go outside. And he won’t walk on a leash. But we’re working on it. I adore hi 💜💜💜

  • Great group of humans at NMDR! We got quite a few dogs through their efforts back when they were a fledgling rescue group. On the East coast now so can't, but they are helping to eradicate puppy mills little by little in rescuing survivors who would otherwise be destroyed. They also educate the public to adopt and not buy. Hopefully one day they won't be needed but until then....

  • God bless this wonderful couple! I pray for people like them, each day, during Rosary. We have patron saints, for just about anything, in Catholicism. Saint Roch is the patron saint of doggies! St. Roch, pray that folks will be kind to stray animals, companion animals, in particular. Pray they will feed, water, shelter and provide medical help, until they can find a shelter. Good St. Roch, pray for us.This way, I never pray alone.
