    • Right, the front office is one of the most inept I’ve ever seen. Trading their whole future for guys that do the same thing your star player already does, no big men who are threats at the rim, no pg to lead the squad and set things up for the three scorers. Ishbia needs to go sit in the owner’s box and shut up. James Jones is looking like a terrible GM. Vogel can’t make these guys good defenders

    • This is the same problem Vogel ran into LA. It’s like Matt Ishbia and James Jones didn’t know who they were hiring and why Vogel won a ring with the Lakers. Not even the Lakers understood why Vogel worked the 2020 season. All they knew about Vogel was he was the only coach on the market that won a championship outside of Budenholder and Doc Rivers. Jason Kidd and Lionel Hollins elevated Vogel’s coaching repertoire to balance the offense with Frank’s defense first approach. When the Lakers got Westbrook the philosophy of the roster was against everything Vogel succeeds at. He didn’t ask for this shallow benched offense first roster. And its a shame

  • This Problem reminds me of the Melo trade to the Knicks. Because of the Front office wanted Melo so badly. They ruined their bench and they went past the first round once while Melo was there. If they waited for the off-season, they would’ve had Melo and a deep bench. And they could’ve been better. That’s what this situation basically is

  • The Beal trade is still one of the weirdest and most irresponsible front office moves I've seen from a team that's historically had one of the league's better front offices. They got rid of Point God CP3 for Beal for reasons I don't understand. We saw the importance of a traditional PG when Mike Conley was getting all the Wolves open looks and picking apart Phoenix's defense. And the Nurkic acquisition was good but they had no good backup at center. At this point Phoenix has no realistic choice but to sign good free agents and run it back next year.

    • Beal still played better playoffs than CP3 could have... The trade was not bad or weird, it was good to load off a terrible player with an even more terrible contract. Paul couldn't do what Conley did, because he is not that guy anymore, for two years now. He was a liability on offense and defense even last year and it even got worse. Beal might have played terrible, but he still worked better than CP3. The Problem is not that the Suns need a "traditional PG", the problem is that those guys they had played bad and didn't fit together. You can't just pull out Beal, put in any decent PG and suddenly, the team works. That's not how it is. And Booker is that PG, he proved it last year and he proved it in the fourth Game. He played really bad in the first three games, but not because he is a SG... That is just a lazy analysis. Nurkic btw played terrible defense all year, changing Ayton for him dropped the defense significantly, even though Ayton was also a problem. So, blaming only Beal and the trade is too easy

They can celebrate and everything, but their cap and pick situation is equally bad as those of the suns. Their jumpers are pretty much equal, but booker is younger and gets to the rim easier… In Golden State, KD was on Easy street. Curry getting double and triple teamed at times, left KD wide open or with a guard defender on him. His efficiency was off the charts w/o even trying. Nobody would mention how tough he was to guard, bc nobody was really guarding him!

Problem is, basketball is an ego game where the top players want room to flex and show off. What made him great in LA also gave him a limited shelf life, just like it has here. He’s the kinda guy that will lift a low tier team around camaraderie and hard work, but he hits a ceiling once the players stop buying in. Truth be told, when a coach stays in one place for a while, they’re either insanely successful or the org is complacent. And the Suns are neither so he’s gettin axed with a quickness

So what they did was pick swaps, so they will be assured of getting the worst pick in the every other year they do have a first round pick. They did trade all their second round picks for the foreseeable future, but they definitely will have first round picks every other year.
