Can art heal? Sarah Ahmad, a Pakistan-American artist in Tulsa, thinks so. And yet shortly after she unveiled her latest beautiful work, someone vandalized it.
This ugly act hardly takes away from the beauty of "American Dream," an outdoor installation Sarah created in Tulsa's Oxley Nature Park for racial healing in this centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre. On this snippet from #FinalFriday (a monthly chat on Oklahoma art), Gallery America host Robert Reid talks with OETA's David Dean about Sarah's brilliant work and how the vandalism only proves the need for her important work.
See her story at 7pm on Thursday, July 1 on OETA.
