For those who wonder "how does this sound like La Campanella at all". La Campanella is actually the third movement of Paganini's Concerto 2 which sounds completely different from Liszt's La Campanella, the melody at 1:52 is actually the third movement of Paganini's concerto 1.
This actually makes me think less of Liszt since its not his melody
@@ExeAction Clueless
@@doctordoggo420 literally lol
Thanks for finding where 1:52 came from! It is why I don't like this version: it has this material, which doesn't belong in this piece.
@@rosiefay7283 but it's the original pieces
It feels so weird, we're too used to the "newer" version! Thanks so much for the marvellous interpretation, and for letting all of us know about this unusual version!
Yea the older version is much better
@@bootattack8 the older one feels more "normal", it follows the pattern of other transcendental études, it is what it should be like. The newer one, on the other hand, is unique, more epic, but less "campanella", which literally translates to "little bell". Hence it is a matter of preference, after all.
it feels lighter, I like it more than the "newer" version
I like both
And it's not the first version; the initial one was composed in 1832, lasting 15 minutes, and is the original piece. He created this version in 1838 because he wanted someone else to perform his composition. The most technically challenging rendition is the 1832 version, surpassing the difficulty of any other rendition. In 1851, the most popular version was released.
Godly performance, it’s frightening.
I thought it was mediocre, no offense
It's funny how you can never get away from this meme now
how does mr rush e only have 11 likes
Why do you only have only 15 likes my man this is so hard to comprehend.
How the hell you just got 34 likes
I am absolutely impressed by your interpretation. Only few people know about exist this version. In my opinion, it is technically much more difficult due to high tempo than S. 141, but even fewer people know that there are still more difficult version than this. It's Grande Fantaisie de Bravoure Sur La Clochette, which is rather a variation on that piece but is technically unattainable for many pianists. It is really rare to find a good interpretation of this piece on KZhead. You did a wonderful job Traum!
There's also S.700i/ii
@@thenotsookayguy You are right S. 700 is also very difficult and beautiful, unfortunately part of that composition has not survived, so it is here Ad libitum.
Far harder than the 3rd version. I was literally jaw dropped for 2 mins just by looking at the title 😶

All I can say is wow. Best interpretation that I've seen on this piece so far. He managed to play this piece almost flawlessly which I didn't even think was possible. He did an amazing job on this overall, but I really liked how he played that middle voice in his left hand at 3:39. That is probably my favorite part of this piece. I really wish more people knew about this piece and appreciated it more. Absolutely fantastic.
This interpretation is great, though I still prefer Barbon's and Filipec's performances.

@@ubme21 How many of the Traum's 259 uploads have you watched? So many people made false accusations of fake, sped up.... On his Chopin Prelude OP 28, no.16( uploaded on 1-31-2022), Traum re-uploaded the same Prelude on 2-15-2022, this time with Apple phone Timer + Time Code, still, many false accusations of sped up, fake..... Only 3 person had the decency to come forward to correct their previous erroneous opinion. Traum also played this same Prelude on his Traumian channel on 5-17-2022. Playing on his Yamaha upright while sitting on his knees at the same tempo. Only 1 person had the courage to admit his previous comment of sped up was incorrect. I find it quite interesting listening to older versions of a piece and seeing how the different ideas were put together in the past and how they evolved into the newer version. If anything, this is a perfect example of how it takes immense time and effort to compose something polished.
Like Oh MY GOD! I’m a pianist too, pretty advanced sight reader and classical. I watch your videos not to watch the lines and play, but to LISTEN TO THIS AMAZING 🥲 INTERPRETATION . It’s truly a reminder of what it looked like in the salons Liszt performing young at 27/28, just taking everyone’s breath away with that crazy technique, emotional rides, and his showmanship.

This is by far the best interpretation of this piece I’ve ever heard. I really loved how beautifully you played this piece, you are very very skilled like basically there is zero mistakes in your interpretation, you’re so skilled in fact you kinda make it sound easy even though it’s nothing easy. I could say la Campanella is my favorite classical piece unfortunately i don’t have enough experience to play it but I love to hear it as it never gets old for me, every time I listened to la Campanella it was the known non original piece that I don’t know where it came from but ever since I found out about this original version from 1838 I just can’t go back to hearing the “new” la Campanella, don’t know if I explained my myself very well haha

Wow amazing, and I love how Traum even got excited at the end there
Hahaha! I love the celebration at the end! It was so relatable!
This somehow sounds more Paganini than Liszt in this iteration unlike in the more well known version where there's more of Liszt's style. The same virtuosity and extravagance but less dynamic and more colorful. Fantastic portrayal!
the way you celebrated in the end from crushing it was absolutely heart warming
I absolutely love how stoked yu were at the end. No kidding, that was unreal!
01:54 - 04:46 Might Be My Favorite Part From This Piece. It Just Sounds Magical, And You Did It Almost Flawlessly. You're Truly Incredible, Traum. Love Your Playing!
