this spain side might be one of the best national teams in football if not the very best ever, 35-0 throughout 2008-2012, 3 back to back titles etc. This final was peak dominance.

They also had a lot of luck. 2008 both games vs. Sweden and Greece decided by last minute goals. Had to win a penalty shoot out vs. Italy. 2009 they did not win the Confed Cup. 2010 lost to Switzerland, lucky that Paraguay missed a penalty and their goal bounced in in a weird lucky way. That Kroos never found the net before Puyol scored. That Robben miss in the final. 2012 Spain had to fear group phase elimination until the late goal vs. Croatia. Again a penalty shoot out was needed to overcome Portugal. 2008-2012 was a very good time for Spain. But they needed luck because their lead was always tight. Best example is that in 2018 and 2021 spain lost penalty shoot outs and that cut their tournaments short.

Spain was just so good at that time! One of the reason I loved them so much was Fernando Torres. So graceful, pure striker. Every goal seemed so easy with him, just my favorite number 9 🖤

He was a beast in his prime, just after this was his decline unfortunately. I worked at the casino and being the only Spanish speaking guard, I took care of the Atletico Madrid soccer team. I met Torres and got a photo and a signed bandana with a message. Im Spanish, to me he is one of my heroes in life. Its one of the best moments ive ever experienced.
@@elcanariodownunder7989 Yes, a lack of confidence and some injuries bring him down from 2011/2012...but when he came back to atletico he showed us that he wasn't done at all! He wasn't scoring a lot but considering the amount of time he got on the pitch it was a really decent ratio:) Oh it must've been a really special moment, I believe you! He seems to be a nice guy and a good person:)

Complimenti alla Spagna per la meritata vittoria!! Il periodo del triplete, europeo 2008, mondiali 2010 ed europei 2012. Ricordo che ne ero rimasto male, però consapevole che non ci potevamo fare molto. Vorrei far notare che quando i calciatori italiani hanno preso la medaglia d'argento, nessuno si è tolto la medaglia del secondo posto, cosa che invece hanno fatto i calciatori inglesi, alla finale degli europei 2020, dopo aver perso con l'Italia.

Spain 2008-2012 is the best national team I've seen in action. Crazy to think that they played a lot of their games without a pure attacker, just another line of midfielders. And still dominated every match. Unfortunatly that we lost the 2010 final against them, but this Spain side deserved all the titles that they have won!

By 2014, I was playing top level football minus the required professional speed. Twelve years have passed. I haven’t played competitively since 2014. I feel old. My right femur, right knee and left ankle are destroyed. But, I can’t focus on that. Life goes on and one must live out one’s calling from God!
2012 = Spain won the Euro and completed the historic national team performance in 3 editions (Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012). 2018 = Real Madrid won the UCL and completed the historic European success in 3 years (UCL 2016-2018). Kiev loves the Spanish football, but now the city is on verge of destruction by the hands of Russia.

That was easily an 5 to 8 - 0 Spain was a literal god team, sadly they crashed miserably as years had gone by, (btw ever since the Mazzerati headbutt, WHICH mf provoqued Zizou, Lazurri have been taking massive L's ever since winning their 4th WC star.
If you see the initial players, the spanish team hadn't any forward player and finally scores four goals to one of the best defensive teams of history football. This mean that if you have the appropriate players in your team, you can play without forwards and scores a lot of goals and all this is possible because your players are excepcionally good. This spanish team is one of the best football teams of history.
