  • The black, orange and white cats (like at 11:50 ) was likely female! Most calico (the color) cats are female! Rarely will a calico be male and will often be infertile if it is a male. Also! Professional owner of cats and speaker for cat body language. All these cats Loved you, not a single one was scared of you or threatened, they all appreciated your existence. Even when they would leave and ignore you, that's actually a cat thing called Parallel Play! This is a bonding experience where they are saying "I trust you to watch my back while I am in your space, and I am enjoying you being here with me!" Also, the ending is so true, because my cat can do a high five trick. She also know uppies (stand on her hind legs), sit, circle (walks in a little circle), and come here all on command.

    • Cats are “harder” to train because of how they like to be left alone most of the time. Though some cats will want attention and might actually have fun training. And yes, most Calicos and Tortoiseshells are female. Cats carry their colour genes on their X chromosome, which females have two of, while the male tortoiseshells have one X, plus a Y.

So yes, they are just ignoring you •Cats can move both ears separately and about 180 degrees around •Research has shown that the low-frequency vibrations produced by a cat's purring can have therapeutic benefits for the cat and its owner

  • I'm not a cat expert, but I think the best way to introduce yourself to a cat is to approach it calmly and then just stay a few feet away and hold your hand towards it with one finger sticking out. Cats greet each other with their nose (I've heard) and if it's interested, it will approach you and touch for finger with it's nose and smell you, just like a dog. That way the cat can decide and will not tear you to shreds immediately

He just wanna play ❤ But as for baby kittens, they tend to bite and scratch hard either because they're still feel unsafe or they don't know how to control their strength. Well, I'm one of their victims. But once they reached teen mid size, they learn to play soft. Their fangs and claws will stop hurting too. They learn to love body massage which is a bonus. Sometimes, when they're content, they'll even allow you to touch their most fluffy part, the tummy ✨ PS But careful with cats with growling or yowling noise, body bent with tails stretch up. That's mean they'll really scratch you cus they're angry.

    • Cats are a predator-prey animal, meaning they kill some animals but they're also routinely in danger. On the other hand dogs are strictly predators, as they are not a regular food source for any animals. This is the reason why the behavior is so different and cats are often seen as very skittish or unpredictable compared to dogs, there is a builty in duality to their nature.

  • This reminds me of my experience of overcoming fear of dogs. When i was around 7 years old, i was playing with my brother and extended family member (i don't really remember them) outside, and then i saw this small dog just chilling there. I (like a dumba** child) went over and wanted to pet the dog. and what ya know it, i got bitten by the dog. Luckily, it wasn't a serious injury, but it did left me with a physical and emotional scars. By emotional i mean i've been afraid of them for years, until in like 2017/18, i had a meet up with a old lady for my math problems, and what ya know, she has a dog (specifically a black poodle). Of course i was pretty anxious for her to get close to me, let alone me touching her, but it took me surprisingly short amount of time to overcome the fear. And now im a complete dog/animal lover and watching this video is really relatable to me (even if our fears are both somewhat similar, but at the same time completely different lol). Great video! ☺👍

    • I've found that a lot of people who have had a bad experience with a cat often tried to apply a dog lens to them--reading their body language and such as if they were dogs. Wagging tails in dogs = happy, but in cats = irritated and so on and so forth. So if they go to pet a cat they think is happy, and they get bit, they're going to think cats are jerks.

It basically feels like one is an extrovert and the other is an introvert lol. Also if you're wondering about the 3rd cat, he basically like my 1st affecinwte cat, but a bit different. He loves affection too and will jump onto someone's lap sometimes but will keep to himself or snuggle up to the first cat and clean him. They are all so cute, love them.

They slow blink to show love or affection and when they’re aggressive or in hunt mode their eyes will be wide open with the pupils dilated. So even if the squinting looks like they’re mad it’s actually the opposite.

  • Three side notes for this video: 1_ most of these cats are so acustomed to people (and their treats) that they will show theirs belly in an instant (the majority of cats aren't like that, you have to earn their trust little by little). 2_ If you think that were big cats, google Maine coons cats, they are massive muscular, fluffy felines. By the way, they are overweight from tourist overfeeding them (not good). 3_ for the last one, when people says that cat are trechearous, mean creatures, imagine yourself sleeping and someone starts to disturb you. You won't wake up happy neither.

If your near a cat stay calm bc if your scared you will have a big chance of getting attacked (based off of my cat) 2. Avoid pushing a cats fur upwards as this will irritate them causing them to attack. 3. Don't boop a cats nose unless the cat let's you as cats have highly sensitive noses, causing them to only let certain ppl boop their nose. 4. Avoid patting a cats belly unless you know it likes belly rubs bc most cats don't like their bellies being touched. 5. Don't touch their paws this will most likely annoy them. That is all I can think of rn

  • *TL;DR:* I’m glad your exposure therapy helped you so much, also I have a lot to say about my family’s porch cats that I hope will help you understand cats better 😸 While I’m fairly certain the reason the cats in this village you visited are both so overweight and so docile is because people keep feeding them and thus it is almost impossible for any of them to feel threatened while in that environment, it should be noted that cats are still predators who have those teeth and claws for a reason. Thankfully, this is coming from a cat person, so I can assure you that the old adage still applies: the animals are more afraid of you than you are of them. And like others have said, cats all have different personalities. I’ve met a couple who’ve become _really_ friendly after only about a minute of affectionate gestures. It’s genuinely not totally conditioned into them. Examples: Over the past few years, several feral (as in, born in the wild) cats have become permanent residents on my family’s property. It took quite some work to earn their trust for at least two of them, and the mother of our initial litter of three comes around sometimes because we feed most of the cats who come our way, but she never wants to be within six feet of us. She trusts us with her daughters, she just doesn’t want us touching _her._ Adding back to the “cats are still predators” bit, by the way, at least two of our permanent residents (Sooty and Raven) don’t even completely depend on us to feed them; they can hunt for themselves (the smallest one [Raven] even caught a bluejay once! I was so proud 😻), and we do occasionally see gifts of half-eaten voles on our porch as well (they don’t realize humans don’t normally eat those). The only overweight one is the one who _never leaves the porch_ (Coal). I think the main reasons they stick around us are a) our porch has some of the best shelter in the neighborhood, and b) they actually like _us._ They _will_ be perfectly happy with the affection (but they absolutely won’t turn away free food), and it’s almost certainly the main thing they get from us - one of them (Presto) will sometimes just _appear_ with no warning while we’re doing yard work just to get attention from us and keep us company. And we love her for it. We have encountered some nasty cats, but mostly in the sense of them being mean to the other cats rather than to us. For the most part, though, our girls (and Raven and Rory) are just silly little guys who just want food and pets. Lots of pets. Sooty loves flopping onto the ground for us to pet her neck, sides, and belly, and Rory loves rubbing up against our legs and is always happy to play. (Rory’s sister Jet also loves rubbing up on our legs once she remembers she likes us, but she also mostly hangs out in the woods and we don’t see her quite as often. You’d be surprised how demanding she can be sometimes.) Again, I’m glad your exposure therapy helped you so much. Also I need to tell you that your description of cats always looking like they’re frowning and judging you, while not inaccurate, immediately made me laugh and think of Sooty, whose default expression is more of a “deer-in-the-headlights” look with a touch of “you don’t think _I_ did that, do you?” (It only takes a little bit of tweaking for her to turn it into an effective pleading expression, too. She, Presto, and Raven are all so good at being cats I swear 😹)

  • i used to also have a fear of cats until i moved to a school that had a lot of cats on campus. exposure therapy does work. then i became obsessed with cats and researched a whole bunch ab them (it mightve been a hyperfixation tbh) so here are some facts/tips: - cats mostly prefer being pet on the top of their head and under their chin (from experience), also do not touch a cat's belly because most of them dont like having it touched and will attack your hand lol - if you want to pet a cat, simply hold out your hand or finger and let them sniff it. if they dont move away or they rub themselves against it, they are free to pet :) - if you are petting a cat and it starts to move its tail back and forth, you should probably stop petting it as it can be getting overstimulated and can lash out if it gets too much. give it time to cool off before you try to pet it again, even if it was enjoying the pets. - on a similar note, cats with wagging tails are either a) overstimulated b) very hyper (like zoomies)/in hunting or play mode or c) angry - tri-colored cats (aka calicos - ginger, white, and tabby/black/grey) are almost always female unless the cat is born with an extra chromosome, and it is sterile in most cases. the same goes for tortoise shell (bi-colored - black/grey/tabby and ginger with little to no white) cats thats it :33

  • It's not the intimidation you're feeling. It's the chaotic energy of the cat
