  • Since this wasn't the most exciting fight, I decided to translate some of the coaching advice from Ruud's (the guy in the red shorts) Dutch speaking corner. Maybe some of you can at least learn some Dutch from this video. 1:10 "opstootje, daarna kopstootje" - "uppercut, followed by headbutt" 1:26 the fight has just started and right away his corner is saying "Ruud, maak je hoofd los" - basically "Ruud, get your head out of that headlock", advice he seems unable to follow 1:32 "kopstoot, kopstoot" - "headbutt, headbutt", something he does appear to put into action 2:30 more calls like "maak je hoofd los", which still seems like a good idea 2:39 "trap in z'n noten" - "kick him in the nuts", since K.O.T.S. has almost no rules, I guess that is an option, yes 4:01 "nog een keer, nog een keer" - "again, again", which he indeed follows up with another headbutt 4:30 "geef hem een leverstoot" - "punch him in the liver" and "sla hem op z'n lever met je rechterarm/-hand" - "punch him in the liver with your right arm/hand", which he immediately does 5:25 "Ruud, stompen jongen" - "Ruud, punch/pummel, dude" 5:44 I think it's something like "Ruud je bokst beter dan hem" - "Ruud you're better at boxing than him" followed by "boks beter jongen" - "start boxing better dude" 6:04 the ref breaks them up and his corner shouts "boksen, boksen", which Ruud translates as going right back into the clinch 6:17 "knie, knie" which unsurprisingly means "knee, knee" 6:29 from this timestamp his corner starts repeatedly advising either "op je tenen staan" - "stand on your toes", possibly to try a different strategy to resolve the headlock, or he might be suggesting "op z'n tenen staan" - "stomp on his toes" 6:59 something like "ga effe lekker stompen op afstand" - "start punching to create some distance" or telling him to get out of that clinch and turn it into a striking match instead 7:11 "knietje" - just a little knee 7:40 once again the ref breaks them up and once again his corner is suggesting "boksen nu" - "start boxing now" and "stompen jongen" - "start punching/pummeling dude" 8:10 I think I hear his corner saying "staan jongen" - "stand up dude", which would indeed be preferable to the pounding he's receiving at that moment 8:25 "kom op Ruud" - "come on Ruud" and "je hebt hem jongen" - "you got him dude", the latter, if I heard it correctly, seems rather optimistic 9:01 "Ruud, opstaan nu" - "Ruud, get up, now" one of the many calls around this timestamp for him to stop getting a beatdown and instead try standing up 9:30-9:55 several instructions to reposition certain limbs and/or his head 9:56 after standing them back up the rest of the commentary from his corner is basically just "kom op jongen" - "come on dude" and a couple of vague calls for a knee or uppercut, except for: 11:20 "ademen door je neus" - "breathe through your nose" in an attempt to get his breathing under control, and when he succeeds at that: "goed zo" - basically "good job" Anyway, I needed a distraction and nobody forced you to read this comment to the end, so... Fijne zaterdagavond verder! 😊

  • I've been following this channel for a couple of months and I've seen all the videos. However, I have to say that this is the first boring fight I've seen. I hope the guy in the red shorts changes tactics because he won't be able to knock out his next opponent...

    • i think he realized early on this would be a loss, but tried to hang on anyway. his opponent hat plenty of chances to shorten that fight but chose not to for one reason or another. But i agree, this is by far the most boring fight on this channel, but im sure the next one will be back to the usual standards

    • It seems submissions were allowed for that fight, which is cool but might make the fight more boring for many. One dimensional fight from Ruud Vernooij, looks like he had not much more than dodgy double legs that day which turned into pushing and trying to hold his opponent on the fence. Check out his name he´s 6-6 in pro mma, so a legit fighter. I wished KOTS sticked to fights with subs allowed, hard to talk about No rules fight when u can´t actually sink a choke

  • This is imo what MMA should be. No fucking gloves, just wraps to get some protection for wrists. Headbutts, knees, kicks on the ground. That's true fighting. Edit: I also *love* the fact that referee interferes only when it's compltely clear that the fight is over. No early bullshit stoppages, no stolen victories. Awesome. I wish this organization would be bigger than UFC. This is easily the most manly stuff. _Only concrete floor seems to be unnecessary. If the purpose is to make it as primal as can be - the soil/grass should be the best option._
