Discovering the HIDDEN GEM VILLAGES IN ENGLAND// Welcome to our channel! Join us in today's shorter video as we wander through some of the hidden gem villages in the Northamptonshire countryside. We visit the beautiful villages Blakesley, Stoke Bruerne, Blisworth and Eydon. They are full of charm and real secret village treasures.   • I so enjoyed the villages in winter. Someone in one of those villages needs to open a little tearoom!! I wanted to tell you that 50 years ago, I traveled to Europe from America. I was 18. First stop was Holland. In Amsterdam I bought a Blue Calico teapot from the Burleigh collection. Next stop was England, and eventually back home to Pennsylvania. The teapot went into my hope chest. I still have it, and use it every day!! I keep my tea in little English canisters with the Queens image on it! When you go to the Burleigh outlet, I want to jump right in there with you!! I see so many things I would love to buy. In all my married years(44) I have only bought 6 dinner plates. It was very difficult to find Blue Calico here. Thank you for the lovely little videos that brings back memories for me of so long ago!

    • I have many many pieces of Blue Calico. There were in my hope chest when I got married. I lost many pieces in the few earthquakes through the years in Southern California.

  • What beautiful hamlets and villages! The thatched stone cottages, old churches, historical high streets, snowdrops and quiet lanes were so picturesque! Every town looked like a perfect location for a period drama! Thank you for the tour!

  • Danke für die neugierig machenden Impressionen dieser besonderen, hübschen und irgendwie geheimnisvoll anmutenden Ortschaften. Sie wirken teilweise wie aus einer anderen, verwunschenen Welt, in der die Zeit gewissermaßen zu stehen geblieben scheint. Eine Fahrt mit einem dieser Schiffe klingt nicht uninteressant. Sie bringt mit sich eine weitere Perspektive auf die Gegend dort und macht zugleich einfach Spaß und Freude.

  • While I’m an “armchair traveler “ mostly, I have to say thank you both for showing these beautiful villages, homes, and countryside. I even enjoy your forays into farm shops and quaint little antique shops. Also, I am eagerly awaiting my (used) copy of the O’Byrne book, Romantic English Homes, that you featured recently. There will be a large cup of tea, a scented candle, and my little fireplace for ambiance while I dive in to some beautiful photography in that treasure trove!   • Lived in Rushden east Northamptonshire till age 44 and always loved the countryside and especially the little village pubs we got to visit. Moved to southern Ireland in 2002 and miss those village pubs and quaint countryside of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

One of the best ways of visiting them is definitely along the canal routes, hire a boat and enjoy the perfect slow life on the canal. I have spent many happy holidays on the canals and it is a great way of meeting people who visit the country too. My job on the trips was to work the locks I had some really interesting conversations at the lockside . I wrote poems about my adventures on the British waterways. A dear friend of mine owned a narrow boat, some great times to treasure. Happy holidays.💚🌹

  • Ooh, this has made me cry 😢. My dad's cousin lived in Stoke Bruerne and was an active member of the friends of the canal group. He sadly died in a road accident 5 years ago. I love your beautiful videos so much XX

I think that a boat trip would be awesome ,I sure you could find a holiday weekend rental boat that will teach you all about the boat and how to drive it , or even one that comes with a small crew that will do everything for you.
