  • Thx for the review. Personally I dont like the brake light incorporated into the signal lights. We need all possible ways to be seen on the road. That is - would be serious concern for me.

    • @@lucschoonejans6637 Not dangerous with a centre light as it couldn't be clearer that you were braking (all else is irrelevant). But the omission of a centre light just to accommodate the radar is a backward step, and might now give me some cause for concern.

  • Love the bike Smokey but my only complaint is with the rear lighting. BMW had the opportunity to create a great looking rear light that would catch the attention of those sleeping drivers. I know they needed to lose weight but not in areas that impact safety.

  • The big ignition button actually was very nice and elegant and now the area there generally is ugly not only because the button missing .But the rest of the bike is gorgeous I think the strange light from near is ok. Thanks for the nice review.

  • Ja de perfecte voorlamp, love it. Veel gedoe over, de eerste GS' en hadden één ronde voorlamp, dit is meer origineel GS dan de rare voorgangers 1150, 1200,1250. :) I don't realy care , I'm riding the bloody thing . Goed filmpje Smokey-man.

  • Rear lighting needs a center light that is small but very bright. Integrating the brake light into the turn signal lights is good but it really really needs the center light!, BMW you missed that one…. But BMW the rest of the bike is good to go. I might consider getting one but need to find a attention getting rear brake light

  • I admit I took the bmw gps off and got an apple car play unit on Amazon and it’s 1000 times better. I’ve only needed a real gps in Yellowstone in the US so I took the chance and I’m extremely happy. It’s also only 150$ compared to newer gps’s from bmw🤷🏻‍♂️. Hope this interest someone out in KZhead land and if you have any questions about it I’ll answer them.

  • Seems like an overall improvement. Would be great if it came with fewer electronics as well. Like: a true luxury package, with whatever bits and bobs you want, but also a true basic package, so you don't overpay for things you will never use. That electric windscreen is cool though.

  • Thanks Smokey! The exhaust sound is just wow. They could have done a better job with the rear lights. It looks like over-engineering. I'd be concerned with rear traffic noticing the change and getting enough time to react.

  • Enjoying the videos…👍…. I think the integrated brake/turn signal lights are a disaster…person behind won’t see you signal while braking. I assume the CANBUS system is carried forward but is there a CANBUS socket on the new 1300? - i charge the battery on my current GS through the CANBUS.

  • Honda has had CarPlay for years, and bmw already works with apple on the car side for keyless stuff. I’m a bit disappointed that the new bike didn’t get a more advanced phone integration no matter what system you use.

    • Actually it doesn’t bother me. I already buy another cheap carplay and mount it on the bmw cradle. Had to do some modifications but its works pretty good. I prefer my instrument cluster and carplay separately

    • @@fuad89n yes, you can always buy third arty devices, but the issue is that it hels usage greatly if you can use the bike switches to control CarPlay as well and not having to let go of the handle bars to use the screen.

    • Scouting for e-mail adreses from marketing manager in our country from certain brands. And if they don't e-mail back I drive to their office , kick the door in and ask how there day is going and if they want to work with me or not 😁. So I'm more of a modern journalist now so the bikes I ride are from the press fleet.

  • So have to get the Akrapovic exhaust, sounds great. But will wait for the GSA. As for the lithium battery, quick and cheap way to save weight. However, if you fit your bike with a tracker it will drain the lithium battery every 10-14 days if you don't ride it. Not a problem if you use a conventional lead battery. Also, lithium batteries do not like the cold. You have to turn on the ignition for a minute, then turn off and then turn it on again and try the starter. The minute seems to warm up the lithium battery.

I’d like to purchase a Trophy version equipped just by with the Dynamic Pack because I aesthetically like it so much, but I’m in serious doubt because I don’t know if in the future I could need any other features. So, do you know if will be it possibile to install in a second moment the radar, the motorized central stand and the electronic windshield? Thank you!

    • Your dealer might be able to do that but it's gonna cost you. I was in the factory and every motorcycle is build to order in Germany. It's not like they build stock and later on you can put some extra stuff on to it. So everything you order at the dealer is how the Germans assemble your motorcycle 😉

  • Great and informative video💥, I really appreciate your style. However, could you please clarify if there is indeed a noticeable shift in the riding position, leaning towards a slightly sportier stance with more bent knees? This adjustment might be less comfortable for taller riders or during extended trips, which would be a shame since the old GS was known for its fantastic and comfortable sitting position. Keep up the great work!🎉

    • Seats look narrower as well. First thought when photos emerged is that it looks notably less comfortable. For me, ride every day, year round, and take long trips with my wife. I would like to ride one when an event presents an opportunity, but I think the 1250 fits my needs better at this point

  • Looks like a great bike, think bmw nailed it, including what it seems to be a decent gear box , finally. Nothing new , we have seen all those eletrônics in other bikes like Kawasaki SE models. At this price i think a fully eletronic adjustable suspension should be included. Its going to be a sales blast for sure, including younger people who didnt like the previous old old school model. This is much more avangarde. Like it.

The DB killers of the Akrapovic is removable? 3. 237kg is the weight of the motorcycle with all this optionals in the video? An Apple “bikeplay” in 2024 it’s a must. I’m a bit worried about the rear light…

    • 1 : 176cm and 80cm inseam 2 : Db Killers are always removable BUT some demand taking the whole exhaust apart. Not sure on this one 😅 3 : the bike is even a bit lighter as the exhaust is less weight. Overal it just feels very light 😎

  • Id love to know why more bikes (cars too) are going keyless when its been proved over and over how easy it is to clone the key, are bmw planning to make it more secure if they are going to be sticking to keyless in the future

  • I have owned three GSs, starting with a R100GS/PD. I can't believe how many gizmos BMW has put on their current bikes. God help you if your ECU ever goes down.

  • Your videos are great, I would be very interested to know the difference between org. Exhaust and Akra exhaust, if you could make a little video with the two machines side by side to hear the difference would be great, please do it, I would be very happy, thank you

    • To be honest , I said it before in other videos. Akrapovic is following Euro regulations , they only sound a bit deeper but not much louder 😁. Check out my unboxing video of the GS. At the and I start it up , then come back to this video 😁
