  • I remember when the X3 was released Top Gear hated them and said to buy a 3 Series instead. Now I see far more new BMW SAVs around than new sedans.

  • I still have my 06 six speed. Mine was a dealer car with 5k on it end of the model year. I drove it from NY to CA in 2020 with 46k. I now have 64k and no major issues like oil or coolant leaks. The only thing that broke down in NY was the window washer motor. That was a bit pricy. In CA was a rear window regulator. Both were due to non use. The only upgrade was swapping out my four spoke heated steering wheel for a three spoke one. I love it and keeping it as long as possible.

If you compare the interior of the first gen & second gen, the interior of the second generation looks better & feels more special

    • @Rylin Michelle Gough It won't mess up your transmission honey, whats your milage? if you have 200k yeah manual mode will not be good, but even at 130k you could still use it. Have your X3 heavily inspected . Do you have a 2007?

    • @Rylin Michelle Gough Um...WOW, you are a BMW freak like me huh??? I just got my 2007 x3, had a 2005 for ten years. My 2007 has 89k and is mint, a lucky find, also has every option except 18 inch wheels, running boards and sat nav, its light silver on black. Whats your color? with all you have done you can use manual mode or sport drive, easy. SPORT is what I always use, better for traffic commutes, MANUAL is for pure fun really, they lag in DRIVE, they really do, Esp our motor. Do you save your mechanical bills? I did and I spent like 10k in repairs or more on my 2005, insanity, plus all the vinyl(wrapping) work I have done. I also had my cats deleted on my '05, really miss that! I am doing muffler delete on my 2007. I also have a 2011 Mercedes Benz SL550, which is really scary for mechanical work, I had a 2000 SL500 for ten years as well, yes I am a german car freak, haha!
