I’m honestly so exhausted lmao, thank you to everyone for not roasting me too bad for small flubs (‘Carolina Avalanche?!’). In past years the first round of playoffs has been a de-stress period for me, where I just relax, watch hockey, and work less. This year it’s the exact opposite - and I’ve added a shit load of new content to what was already a busy schedule with my other channels. All this to say, again, thank you - and that I appreciate all of you so much.
We appreciate you and all your content.
hard works pays off! you are the man.
I honestly don't know how you are able to get up! With both hockey, star wars and now NFL . Love all the star wars content by the way!
Thank you!! Take care of yourself though :)
Your work doesn't go unappreciated or unnoticed, every night driving home from work I look forward to getting home and watching your new uploads :) You're one of 4 KZhead channels I watch regularly, along with Gears And Gasoline (cars), Jomboy Media (baseball) and Mediocre Amateur (mountain climbing)
We just witnessed the natural birth of a new goalie stick tick. He's gonna flex his blade after every whistle for the rest of his life 😂
How the hell are sticks even breaking in 2023.
@@MickeysCornerhe new Lightweight composite pro sticks are extremely easy to break but offer extreme speed, flexibility and power. I've seen players break 4 in a single game.
@@BoochBanner Absolutely...but he’s a goalie. This should NEVER happen to a goalie stick as they don’t need all of the great attributes of a composite stick. Kinda like installing sprinklers in a swimming pool. Might come in handy one day but costly repair bill when the pipes burst

@@spartan2693 it was a joke?..?..
@@itzhydrationyt192 I get that, im just saying that for a good while people didn't notice it did break.
the fact he still clutched as a rookie after something as embarrassing as that shows how thick skinners bones are this guys top notch
His mental game is amazing. I mean korpi completely folded in the last 2-3 games and he’s a vet.
"Skinners got a thick boner" is what I read here.
Yeah they were chanting his name too, but he stayed tough
If you play the game, your first thought on that play is "oh no, where is Skinner's head at now?" Self-doubt is crippling to a goalie's performance. You could see an Edmonton player go up after the goal and touch his head to help him recover.
you mean how thick his stash is :)
It's crazy to think that 10 points in 6 games is considered "quiet" for mcdavid. 😂He's definitely been the quiet playmaker this series, but I'm hoping he explodes out of the gate offensively in the next round, even if his role on a line with Drai is to get him the puck instead.
It's asinine, since mcdavid is the better scorer
tied with Tkachuk!
Mcdavid is 100% hurt this series. If you've watched him all year he's not pushing his body at all this series.
@maekoh they shut him out in game 1. Then he got 10 points in the next 5 games. 2 points per game is what you expect from McDavid.
Ya, there's been quite a few missed opportunities for McDavid. Every time he gets a two on one or a break away, or even a shot on net, I expect it to go in, but I guess he's human after all.
That diving save was crucial in breaking the Kings' spirit. It's like taking a hit to the face, knocking you back, just when you had the momentum.
The fact that you said 10 points in 6 games is "quiet" for McDavid, AND WE ALL AGREE WITH YOU, just shows that he's one of the best players that's ever lived... and he's 26 🤯

i love ur channel bro im happy u took all the hype u had and pushed (still pushing) it to its max potential. one of a kind that formed multiple other NHL recap channels and thousands of viewers that have been waiting for anything of this nature due to other channels existing of other sports such as JimmyHighRoller for the NBA (different style yet comparable) and hundreds of other NBA and MLB (etc) channels, yet only seemingly none exist for stand alone hockey, but i am not sure of any other channels for NHL or let alone current events in hockey in general. i think i left a comment a few months back in the early days of your channel saying that if you were to stay consistent with the content you will explode very quickly and here we are sitting at 93.7k with a 2nd channel, that if at the same level of effort, if not more, is put in the perfect position to blow up just like this channel, if not more. whoever is writing your scripts and editing your videos, keep them. they are very good at producing these "oh man another Eck upload" type videos, i applaud it heavily. i mean that as in the consistency in just basic, yet eye gluing editing, and the intricate and fun ways you explain current events within the sport. I am #Crossed because its saturday night and i was out with frineds so i am unsure of how well this is written (proof read like 5x Lmfao)) but i just wanted to say WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! im happy4u man seriously seeing potential used to its max value really gets my gears turning for just being happy 4 them and inspiration in my own crafts. keep pushing man, if i was able to put money in a youtube stock i would 100% invest into this channel due to everything you have going man. very home like feeling watching these recaps for me, love them so much and many others feel the same way. somehow i can provide good advice to everyone except myself, but idk heres what i think could be a +1 to ur channel; - quick endings is good for retention purposes (which u do already :D), super good but maybe add a self plug, maybe just saying quickly that "links in description" w/ handles of ur previously mentioned twitter and ur up coming NFL channel. it would not hurt a SOUL to add those in after ur post video reclaims in the description, it would further boost your reach across multiple platforms, maybe even dabble into tiktok with simple, quick playoff recaps (hey if u need someone for that im here!!! i did that for my creativity path but it did poorly due to the niche of my audience),,,,,, idk i think just pushing people towards that will help u much - maybe interact even more with your youtube subs through posting on the community page with like who they think is going to win the next ploff game (for this instance) or just random things such as "who think the refs sold the game" LOL idk just get creative with that bc for some reason it is common for viewers/subs to see them on their recommended page - i have spent far too long on this comment and i dont want to use brain power anymore bc i am Too Damn Tired idk man keep it up im really rooting for you and your team, a bright and powerful future is ahead and your on the perfect path to it. keep it up! :D
Still not as bad as Patrik Stefan missing empty net in 07 against the Oilers

And the domino effect that had for the lottery draft via.. Kane was it?

Hey man we love jets fans 💙
Fun fact, the Avs last year are the only team in the last decade to win a cup with a starting goaltender they did not draft. With Stu being an EDM drafted goalie who's actually playing well, I think they Oilers have a real shot, and with more or less no one of significance needing a new contract this off-season, the window should stay wide open for AT LEAST one more year should they fall short this year.
"1 flex stick" had me rolling
Vegas Edmonton will be super high scoring, most of their regular season games were too. The knights don’t play defense as well as la does and don’t have the shut down centres. I expect the series to favour the oilers style a lot more.
Yeah only shutdown they have is Stone and he can't shutdown Mcdavid and Draisaitl in my opinion...
Vegas/Oilers is gonna be an insane series! I am very much looking forward to it
Here's hoping that McDavid shows Eichel why he was the mucho obvious 1st pick in the 2015 draft, and why Eichel could have slipped 10 15th or so, and no one would have noticed and no one would have cared.
great hockey this fall, very great hockey! :)
Loved the game! Im an Oiler & Canuck! The Oilers have been so exciting. Theres always fan jerseys at away games noticeably but almost non at home games :)

Mark Andre Flury vs Montreal, West Conference a couple years back. That flub really Vegas the series.

This happened in the Swedish league as well. In that case it led to victory in the first final. Swedish league SHL, and the same team hv71, also managed to get an overtime goal when an opposing Defender had his blade falling off one of his skates, leading to hv71 forcing a 7th game in the semi (which they won).

Now that the leafs have finally won a series, I want to see an all canadian final with the oilers.
It's a fine dream . . . fellow C here.
No way the NHL will allow that. Zero US revenue.

I was so pissed bro. Good thing we won
Skinners moustache gives him his powers
Not exactly the same but I remember watching my hawks in the 2015 final game 5, bishop came out to play the puck and collided with a teammate leaving the puck and an empty net for Patrick sharp
I was at the game and that is what I thought happened. But the stick still looked intact after so I wasn’t sure. Still it was a great game
LMAO "Probably looks like a skill issue" 🤣
I was at a bar and I’ve seen many, many people turn on skinner in just 10 seconds after it all happened
As soon as I saw this, I knew what it happened. Because it happened to me this year! But I didn’t realize it was broken… It must’ve been broken in warm-ups. Went to pass the puck and the stick totally bent -the opposing forward had the whole net to himself. Ugh.
I always thought whoever wins this series goes to the finals, I guess it’s Edmonton now

@@michaelkeller5927 stay classy Edmonton. Typical oilers fans with 0 class. Just proving my point
The Kings were good in this series. Every game but one was close. I thought that this was going to be another O.T. finish. I agree, that the Oilers will have an easier time with Vegas. :-)
LA divers get no respect.
I wouldn't necessarily predict Vegas to be any easier, but you're right about the Kings being great. No lead was ever safe. The defence really was suffocating, but it was hard to tell because the Oilers have become so deep offensively, despite the reputation they got a few years back.
So that’s 3 sticks Vegas slashed and broke that game and didn’t get called a single time for any of them. Classic California reffing
I haven't seen a 56% conversion rate since the Methuselah Rookie card!
I was having Mike Smith flashbacks.
56% conversion on the PP is unheard of. Typically in the 20ish % range.
Having been a goalie myself I cannot imagine a scenario in which the goalie would not have known his stick was broken. No way.
I see a new stick and sponsorship for this goalie!
Mc David's first goal was so sneaky in this game. he just put the stick down and it slides into the goal
I like the Vegas match up, but a couple of things to remember. Oilers were 3-0-1 against Vegas, and scored 7 in their arena. Vegas pk is 19th in the league. AND, the Oil have not lost in regular time in 23 GAMES (or something like that). With Colorado and Boston out, the only team I'm worried about is the Rangers.
You should make a video on me gagliano injury
Skinner's broken goalie stick giveaway was huge for LA to get back in the game. What a game and ending. Ey eck, comon let's see the "Boy was I wrong about the Rangers" video. I was so worried and aware that the sloppy pass from Mercer at the end of the 1st, that lead to a power play goal evaporated and shifted momentum the Devs generated from games 4 and 5 and carried into the 1st period of game 6. It was the tidal shift of the game and I knew that once the Rangers steal the momentum back it would prove deadly.
Dude saw Mike Smith and thought, "I know what it takes to tend goal for the Edmonton Oilers."
I think the craziest one was when brodeur lost his stick as the puck was coming toward him and goes off the stick and into the net
All I can hear is "Skinner!" If he can't tell his stick is broke! I Campbellive he's still in net... 😂
@eck please talk about the cogliano hit since you had such an opinion on how dirty the makar hit was. own up to your perspective.
Kinda like Marty Brodeur during the finals against the Duck or Fleury during the junior gold medal game.
your pronunciation of finnish hockey players names is very good! :)
Now it makes sense on why it was such a soft clear for skinner, i thought it look weird that he "missed" the puck
Skinners sticks got slashed not once, but twice, the first time was behind the net in the second period. Both slash could easily be called. Skinners shouldve check the stick afterwards too but you live and learn.
Would been nice if the announcers would have identified this
Wow they never even mentioned it on sportsnet
i honeslty think the kings did better than expected. these guys could have been the same level as the blackhawks but they keep finding a way to show how good they are. super props. kings fans, dont feel bad. good team
Kings are a very good team. Don't say dumb shit and disrespect them. Very solid team and would beat alot of other teams in west. Pipe down
The kings are 3rd in the conferance why would anybody think they arent a good team? Their playstyke also doesnt mesh with Edmontons

Khudobin did something similar a few months back, not because of a broken stick though
That's how the cookie crumbles
My heart sank soo deep when that happened.. Glad it didn’t rattle the team like it did me lol Onto the Knights 💪
No video on our Rangers coming back to life in game 6?
I literally screamed "what the fuck was that". Then when realizing his stick was slashed earlier I was like "ah. Ok. Not his fault". He's going to be checking his stick constantly from now on.
Merci pour ce détail! Je n'arrivais pas a comprendre comment il avait raté son dégagement.
i’m so happy oilers made it !!!! ❤❤❤ but that daneault score was so scaryy it wasn’t supposed to be accepted… his stick was broken, it wasn’t fair. 😂
Oh no that has to be a horrible feeling :(
Not making the bruins panthers game 6 video?
They could put a sensor or something in the goalies stick to record and measure it’s integrity throughout the game. If it showed when the kings player hit the stick at that moment and all integrity was lost, they could then deem it a penalty or not?
it’s also hard for mcdavid when he has so many guys on him constantly and this really created for opportunities for draisitil
The amount of slashing the kings did to oilers sticks was insane and how there wasn’t a lot of calls either really shows how the refs are just blind
Vegas Edmonton gonna be some high flying hockey. First game gonna have over 15 goals
Light sticks are light, but yeah, they break a lot easier
I wonder if kempe slashed skinners stick on purpose and tried to crack it so that later on in the game he might cough up the puck just like he did.
There is no way that he could have known that the stick would be damaged but not break apart at that point and then just be replaced.
Rope Hintz carried my fantasy team. He's great
Hintz carried the Stars through the Wild series. Made big time play after big time play, not all of them showing up on the stat sheet. As a Wild fan I have grown to respect and hate that man.
Hintz, Otter, and (Benn in) the face-off circle will be a reoccurring nightmare for me over the next couple weeks
Stars are awesome. After the Oilers they were my next team I enjoyed watching most this season. They are exciting. VGK doesn’t get enough hype. They are good. Boring to watch, but good. I think EDM beat them 3/4 times this season and the last time was 7-3 EDM. Not sure what to make of this series until I see game 1.
I miss Danault; definitely one of the things I wish Bergevin would have left to his successor to decide, or at least a third party. He would be the best vet for our youngsters in the center, along other things. To bad the Kings had too many defensive issues to be able to move forward, but eh... Many players underperformed, but all the credits must go to the Oilers! Congrats!
Still gotta love danault following through..real time looked like a pure fumblelaria lol
Nothing will ever out-do Noah Dobson’s stick in the world junior semis.
Kopitar gives Skinner's stick a whack, and immediately after Kempe gives it another whack for good measure. Still, for what those composite/graphite sticks cost you'd think they could stand up to more abuse than what Kopitar and Kempe dished out. Skinner might want to check out an old Sherwood or Bauer wooden goalie stick. If he'd been playing with one of those, perhaps Kopitar's and Kempe's sticks would have been the ones to break. Plus, just think how much money the team would save buying wooden sticks for Skinner.
Skinner should’ve just bent down and covered the puck with his catcher, he will learn from this one.
When I saw that puck go in on the broken stick (not realizing it was a broken stick), I felt physically sick. Strangely, I felt a lot better when I realized it was a broken stick. I guess because it means Skinner is not a careless puck handler after all.
In Edmonton we call it a smith
Went 1 game longer than it should have. I've been wanting to go against Vegas for a few years now. Pretty confident they can't hang with us and will be fun to humble that entire franchise
LOL whether the Oilers humber VGK or not, you will have nothing to do with it.
