The showing of all the boss races in "Diddy Kong Racing" for the Nintendo 64.
Boss Races as Pipsy [No Power Ups]:
• Diddy Kong Racing - Bo...
These boss races are actually rematches, with the exception of racing against Wizpig.
During the race against Tricky, I chose not to take the shortcut. The challenge was not to crash into walls, hit trees, or bushes. That also includes not getting squashed, getting caught in one of the bubbles, hitting fire clouds, and getting hit by beams. Even with the hovercraft, hitting the side of the wall as you're going straight forward technically qualifies as crashing. Not good.
Races:
- Tricky's Course
- Bluey's Course
- Bubbler's Course
- Smokey's Course
- Wizpig's Course
- Wizpig Strikes Back
Just so you know, these are the actual names of the boss courses. I got them from a site called Super Mario Wiki.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's my list of the boss races from easiest to hardest:
- Tricky's Course [Fairly easy]
- Smokey's Course [Slightly easy]
- Wizpig Strikes Back [Slightly hard]
- Bubbler's Course [Fairly hard]
- Bluey's Course [Hard]
- Wizpig's Course [Very hard]

This is really hard for me to say but its the truth, this game is way better than MarioKart 64.
+TheCodedtestament thats true because this game has some diversification. This game has some Bosses and Mario dont have it.
Mario sucks so of course this is better.
Yeah I agree
it's better then Diddy kong racing DS too
The models are actually 3d and there's 3 forms. It's no contest. I think the tracks in Mario 64 have a slight edge tho. More unique and memorable
I feel sorry for people who never got the chance to play this! Honestly so good. One of the defining memories of my childhood right here!
The game is great until you get to Wizpig. Then the game is just impossible.
@@Wahaller not if you had my childhood best friend
As usual, Rare appropriated an idea from Nintendo and then beat them at their own game.
@@ricardocantoral7672 I’ll be the judge of that once it drops on NSOExpansion, while there’s more content then mk64, the battle mode seems pretty lack luster. This game is very lovely though, a lot of magic codes as well. You won’t have to fight for Yoshi to make sure you win the race like mk64 when you can just have majic codes and everybody pick tick tock, or compete in story mode dual screen 📺
Mine is the ds version
That octopus used to scare the shit out of me, especially when I was ahead and I could hear his gargling scream catching up to me.
Haw ha-haw! *farts bubble*
same
Triceratops ran around the mountain to win, Walrus ran from his flipper feet to win, Octopus swims from his tentacles to win, Dragon flies from his wings to win and Wizpig whose persistent, ran from his big piggy foot and rocket. In the end, he's stranded in a unknown planet in a different galaxy. Animals are something.
They sure are lol.
Diddy: Ready to lose Bubbler? Bubbler: ALCOHOL!!
Elvis Ayala It’s a real mystery as to what he’s actually saying there, but perhaps it might be best to ask his voice actor sometime.
That bloody ocupuss kept me going for months! I remember starting it again and it was tough as nails. When even easy games used to be hard.
I remember playing the Wizpig race and trying everything under the sun to beat him until I realised that if you let of the acceleration before you hit the pad that you do a faster boost. Took me years to realise it too.
Lol the elephant told us this in his tips tho😊
The game tells you this, but nobody ever seems to listen.
This game is hard as hell. I can't believe my childhood self had the patience to complete this game.
"Oh yeah, what's that slowpoke walrus gonna- Oh, holy shit!
These races are what made this game as memorable as Mario Kart 64.
The golden age of Nintendo...
Don't you mean "the golden age of Rareware"?
Erich Scheidle Indeed
Technically Rareware, and Nintendo is still a great company imo. I know you didn't technically say they're bad now or anything, but for those who do, I still think they're an excellent company. :)
***** Rare isn't the same company that made this game any more. The creators of rare sold out and started a new company.
More like golden age of video games in general. Games are so trash these days cause devs know people are gonna buy their garbage regardless. I play project 64 more than I touch my Xbox one.
Seriously this game defined my childhood I would play this a lot sometimes after elementary school these bosses defined this game too they were all unique not just clones of each other
Same!
"Why are you laughing and laying bubbles, Octopus? You're behind me!"
ALCOHOL! ALCOHOL! ALCOHOL!
it was impossible to win in these bosses... you make it look like nothing! damn
This guy is without a doubt the best player in Diddy Kong Racing.
+Mr.Mulmangcho While I'm very good at this game, I don't consider myself the best. There are other players (mainly speedrunners) that are much better than me.
This dude is World-Class at this game, LoL the Wizpig #1 track was unbelievable.
The sound when the walrus was approaching behind was pretty scary and it's pretty fast
Wow my childhood came flashing back all at once. Awesome video. I never made it further in the game from 6:30 onwards :( lol... I found it soo hard!
Man... you make it look so easy. It took me YEARS to beat the bosses, collect the coins, the keys, the balloons and all that jazz... but I could never beat Wizpig, he was impossible for me.
Being ahead of any of these gave me anxiety before I knew what anxiety was
The dragon always got me, he'd wait till I was right next to him and blow out flames hitting me out of the sky, so aggravating
Just finished beating the last boss today! Man, I feel so alive!
Man, this game's bosses are so tough!
i remember the first wizpig race. god fucking damn that took me ages. after i finally finished it, I was like "THERES A 5TH WORLD? ASDFG"
I had to watch the Bluey walkthrough a hundred times before I realized that dropping the accelerate button before you activated the speed balloons doubled your boost. Neat trick.
go diddy go you can do this mate
I was questioning a lot of item choices but then I realized they didn’t matter because your driving was so good.
6:23 One of the first difficulty spikes N64 players have ever encountered. I think Wizpig said it best, "You can't beat me."
I hated these bastards. This is probably the only game that honestly cheats and mocks you about it.
I know right. One screwup or lots causes you to be behind.
this game rocks
Since I was little I always heard Bubbler(the octupus) say "ALCHOHOL!"
Impressive. Nice job!
For bosses that are hypnotized, they don't act like it
Last wizpig race, I never noticed the sky. It's so trippy.
The first Wizpig race is harder! Just memorize the zippers and don't press A so you get a green boost. I think it's harder because there are no balloons and the thickness of the water slows you down
wizpig second race without using any items? you are a god
I miss this so much :( I wish this was on the Wii Virtual Console
hey dude is a thing on ebay that i got my n64 and also diddy kong racing copy
As cutesy as this game is, it was much much harder than Mario Kart 64. I would say this was the better cart racer between the two. This game was a real challenge.
this game, jet force gemini and starfox 64 pretty much sum up my childhood
Lolz damn u look all calm like u got this while i'm here nervous as hell driving all crazy
I can't imagine how you beat the last boss so easy. You really are a pro. It took me forever to beat him and i did so as the rooster guy I think.
Damn Walrus. I lost so many times on the rematch. I beat all the other bosses the 1st time (the rematches, that is). 1st Wizpig was a nightmare until I got the speed boost thing down. Beat 2nd Wizpig the 1st time.
That dragon was the worst for me.
I miss this game so much it bring back the days when i was 5 in dover villa
good job. i love the music
i miss this very much!!!
omg I remember being so angry because it took me forever to beat these guys. The walrus was the worst.
All I had to do for the bosses (with the exception of the wizpig races given that I kept going off course) was use a super boost at the start and i stayed ahead for the rest of the race
Great Player!
Lol you know what's so funny I still have this game and I'm playing now
God that ugly stupid octopus gave me a hard time! I remember crying like a baby because I couldn't beat him! -.-
I miss those old times that will never come U_U
I wonder why Tricky and Bluey weren’t given laps for their races, yet those that do don’t even have the music speeding up for the Final Lap.
My go to moves were to collect the blue balloons to speed up but you’re using the red to knock the enemy out. Both are good methods as I won tiktok and the rooster too. I think I ended up winning the entire game
That was awesome. Go Diddy go! Oh Yeah Diddy is my favorite character.
Enemies always get to go first before the "GO" sign, and they run through stones.. wtf?
I don't know about you guys but the walrus was very challenging for me back then
Getting all the balloons in gold and platinum was supersuper hard but worth it. Amaing game
Cool video fam
Diddy Kong and Pipsy used to be my main picks until I unlocked T.T and Drumstick.
You sure showed them. I never beat this game. The dragon boss was hardest for me.
Practice makes perfect...mostly.
Are you implying you never got to the first Wizpig? Trust me, that thing's the reason I gave up playing.
It was a long time ago, but I might not have even gotten past the octopus boss. I wasn't very good at racing games.
Serasia Dude, you weren't very good at racing games? You've never met me before then.
CTR's bosses may have been on pre-existing tracks but they were much more fair, even Oxide who gets a headstart.
man i remember golden eye, super smash bros and starfox :/ those were the days
this and mario kart 64 i still deem the best racing games
One time I had a glitch that Wizpig (first encounter) would somehow fall into one of the ponds (didn't actually see him falling into it) and lay in there like a plank. It was pretty funny and he wouldn't follow me again until I was almost through the whole race ^^
Good riddance, pork
You sir, can drive!
Lots of practice. :)
@@William5000000 I’m attempting to beat it backwards. So im bout to start practicing more lol. My driving is good but I’m a bit jealous of yours. So you think diddy is the best to use? I usually use pipsy
@@Kenaz2226 My recommendation is to get a feel on how handling works for each character in this game. Lightweight characters: For a beginner experience, start with Pipsy on her handling, get a feel on how she handles. From there, go with Tiptup on his handling, get a feel on how he handles. You should be able to tell the difference between Pipsy and Tiptup. Middleweight characters: For a balanced experience, start with Diddy Kong. From there, go with Conker/Bumper/Timber, and T.T. (if he is unlocked). You should be able to tell the difference between Diddy, Conker/Bumper/Timber, and T.T. (if he is unlocked). Heavyweight characters: For an advanced experience, start with Banjo. From there, go with Drumstick (if he is unlocked), and then go with Krunch. You should be able to tell the difference between Banjo, Drumstick (if he is unlocked), and Krunch. To summarize, Pipsy is the easiest character to control, and Krunch is the hardest character to control. Once you get a feel on the characters from lightest to heaviest, you should be able to understand better on how handling works in this game.
@@William5000000 Appreciate that brother! I read Tiptup is great on hard corners which is good because sometimes i have a heavy finger on the turning. Especially when the race is close and tension is high lol. Gonna practice with a lot of them now
I like the race with the boss who is a dinosaur! (Tricky's Course) 0:00-1:31 :)
2:28 "Use the boost to get through!"
Hey me too. What a coincidence.
I have to admit, they were tricky.
Where do i go after I beat the dragon boss?
Okay thanks
im suscribed Ou are good playing Classic games :)
They always show the bosses after the SC Challenge, but not before the SC Challenge
Con todo respeto amigo... Eres una gran pro👌
El puto dragón me costo un chingo :'v
Damn. You make it look so easy, I beat all the bosses except I never got to wizpig. And you used hardly any power ups! The blue balloons with the walrus is pretty much the only way to win that one, but anyway I'm just going to shut up now. DDKR4lyfe
I wish we got a sequel to this on the Wii U instead of Mario Kart 8. Seriously, Mario is just as over rated as Call of Duty. This game at least has a single player campaign that you can enjoy as well as driving a hover craft and plane
I remember as a kid being so excited to unlock Drumstick and having a near impossible time unlocking T.T. I could hardly beat Wizpig 1, until finally after getting used to Drumstick's handling and failing 900 times I got it. Then I came back to the game after a few years and realized there were green boosts....the game is not hard at all after that. Not even getting TT.
you sir, fucking impressed me i had such a hard time against the pig and u made it seem so easy
This owns the DS version easily.
is it possible to use the D'pad for the nintendo64 version
i actually finish the whole game!
big rocks
Smokey is the top cheater. All of the bosses start moving about a split second before the "GO!", but Smokey gets the longest head-start. Not to mention his fire, although that's probably just the gimmick you're supposed to avoid.
I remember Wizpig on foot was hard as f*ck! After 100 trys I did it. When he was on rocket I beat him on first try lol!
Bluey is one well hung walrus.
yea the bosses are easy once you know what to do, i still own the original game on N64 and play it today! aw great memories!!
I havn't played this game since grade 4 and that was 7 years ago but I used to love it. The Walrus seeded to take up most of the course and the Octopusseemed very stuck up. But I've heard the DS version is really bad and half the original music has been taken out.
The walrus...I had nightmares about him.
I would've used Tiptup to beat Wizpig.
I made it to Wizpig level but never beat him. I never knew there was a second Wizpig level.
Same. Even to this day, I still haven't beaten that creepy hog.
I want to poor a gallon of salt onto that damn Octopus, the only way I can ever beat him is by cheating and using Krunch to gain speed, even using rainbow boosts
my n64 still works and i have TONS of games including this one!
It took me years to beat wizpig the first time
i always thought that octapus was calling me an asshole for shooting him in the ass all the time.
I WANT MY CHILDHOOD BACK!!!!!!
Yes frend
One MMMMMore bomb!
Fucking Wizpig - he kicked my ass more times than I'd care to count, and you made him look easy
