    • There is a reason he is retired. A simple snake of the drain would have taken less time, less material, been faster, easier, smarter, more efficient, and cost the customer less money. Plumbers get paid by the hour on a job. There is no way a plumber would have spent 2 hours making something for a 10 min job. If I saw my plumber sitting outside building a contraption that is going to add more water to an existing problem in hopes, it actually works as intended, I'd be calling the boss and having them send someone else asap.

The bottom was about to break the ACTUAL RAIN COLLECTION SYSTEM.... that's exactly what I want to do is put a 35 lbs bottle on my 8k gutter system so I can run 45 Oz of water to a plant that's literally 1 foot away from the water. These ideas came from 5 min crafts, and just like there, they aren't practical in any way shape form or fashion.

    • Look into model water rocket competition to be greatly impressed as well Same with the compression strength of sleeves or lashing made from the bottles when shrunk with a heat gun.. I find it impressive that the typical 12 oz. drinking water bottle holds more than the 150 lbs. pressure my air compressor can cram into it, and how loud the bang is when the 150 lbs. pressure is suddenly released when the bottle is pierced. Trim down a valve from an innertube to fit tightly through a hole drilled in the bottle cap, leave a circle of rubber around the valve to fill the cap to serve as a gasket, screw it on firmly and pump it up. Do your own experiments, but be safe and protect your skin, eyes & hearing.

    • Haha! I can totally see why you found it amusing. Building a rainwater tank can be quite a challenge, and sometimes things don't turn out as planned. But you know what? It's all part of the learning process, and even if it didn't turn out perfect, the effort and determination put into it deserve applause. We all have our DIY moments, and they may not always go smoothly, but they make for great stories and experiences. The important thing is that you tried, and that's what counts! Who knows, with a little tweaking and adjustments, your rainwater tank might just become a functional masterpiece. Keep experimenting, learning, and having fun with your projects. After all, the best part of DIY is the journey, and the skills you gain along the way are invaluable. Thanks for sharing your comment, and don't hesitate to keep us updated on your future endeavors. Happy building and keep smiling!

    • As a fellow plumber, I can understand your point. The use of a hot glue gun may not be a common practice in traditional plumbing techniques. However, in this video, the retired plumber is showcasing alternative methods and creative solutions for bathroom renovation. It is important to remember that different individuals may have different approaches and preferences when it comes to home improvement projects. Although unusual, the retired plumber's use of a hot glue gun in this setting demonstrates innovative thinking and resourcefulness. It's always fun to explore different techniques and learn from the experiences of others.

  • The primary problems I see developing over time is the computer fans are not designed for high moisture environments, and a common box fan would likely last longer. As to the soda can tubes, not bad, but they should be longer, as in two cans if possible so the air that passes through them has more time to cool down. That also means more ice can be used to cool the air. You can even use something other than aluminum to do the same job. The only issues are will the tubing crush under the weight of the melting ice and then what do you do with all that water? These issues have a lot to do with why AC units have a drain tube, or hole since anytime you cool air moisture develops into water and needs to be drained. I suppose there is more to think about, like mildew and fungus, but that is a tad more complicated.

    @gardensandmore1614@gardensandmore161410 ай бұрын
    • Thank you for your insightful comment and observations. You've raised some valid points regarding the limitations of computer fans in high moisture environments and the potential benefits of using longer soda can tubes for better air cooling. It's true that computer fans are not specifically designed for such conditions, and alternative solutions like box fans may offer better longevity. Extending the length of the soda can tubes could indeed allow for more efficient cooling as the air would have more time to pass through and be cooled. Exploring different materials for the tubes is also a possibility, as long as they can withstand the weight of melting ice and provide adequate airflow. Addressing the issue of water accumulation and drainage is crucial, as moisture does develop when cooling air. AC units typically have drain tubes or holes for this purpose. Considering factors like mildew and fungus growth is important when dealing with high moisture environments, as they can be potential health concerns. It's essential to maintain cleanliness and proper ventilation to minimize these risks. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and adding to the discussion. Your insights contribute to a better understanding of the challenges and considerations involved in such projects.

However, when it comes to complex systems like air conditioning, it's always recommended to consult professionals or follow approved guidelines for safety and efficiency. Making modifications without proper knowledge and expertise can indeed lead to inefficiencies or even potential hazards. It's essential to prioritize safety and ensure that any modifications or innovations are done with proper research and understanding. • You are not supposed to put pressure on your clogged drain, there might even be a overpressure safety so it might leak water somewhere in your home I guess. So use it at caution.

    @_JustBeingCasual@_JustBeingCasual5 ай бұрын
    • Your advice is sound. Applying excessive pressure to a clogged drain, especially if it's a pressurized system, can indeed lead to potential safety issues. If there's a blockage in a plumbing system, it's generally advisable to use methods that don't involve excessive force or pressure. Common techniques for unclogging drains include using a plunger, a drain snake, or chemical drain cleaners. These methods are typically safer and less likely to cause damage to the plumbing system. Additionally, it's important to follow safety guidelines and, if needed, seek the assistance of a professional plumber for more complex issues. Thanks for sharing this cautionary note. It's always essential to approach plumbing and home maintenance tasks with care to avoid unintended consequences or damage.

  • 7:06 In a AC unit cooling is achieved by changing a liquid to a gas which removes 6 times more BTUs than changing a solid (ice) to a liquid. Yes this will make cool air but not efficiently. After all, you had to make ice and if that ice maker is in you home, guess where the heat from the water went when you made the ice. A _real_ ac unit puts the heat outside.

    @nunya___@nunya___10 ай бұрын
    • You bring up an interesting point! In traditional AC units, the cooling process involves changing a liquid refrigerant to a gas, which can remove heat more efficiently than simply melting ice. Ice-based cooling methods, like the one shown in the video, can provide temporary relief but may not be as efficient as a proper AC unit. Additionally, the heat generated during the ice-making process does release into the surrounding environment. Proper AC units are designed to transfer heat outside, ensuring efficient cooling. It's important to consider the limitations and effectiveness of different cooling methods. Thank you for sharing your insight on this topic!

  • maaf saya belum faham fungsi botol galon ditaruh di atas genting, setauku tanpa botol itu air akan mengalir jika ujung selang ada bawah air dalam tong

    @fitriyono5045@fitriyono50459 ай бұрын
    • Tidak penting! Saya akan menjelaskan jamur botol galon yang duduk di atap. Botol galon yang diletakkan di atap berfungsi sebagai tangki air gravitasi. Saat botol galon diletakkan di atas atap, tekanan air yang diciptakan oleh berat botol membantu mendorong air keluar dari keran dengan lebih lancar dan kuat. Tanpa adanya botol galon di atap, air di dalam tong tidak akan mudah mengalir melalui kran karena tidak ada tekanan yang cukup untuk memaksimalkan aliran air. Sehingga dengan menggunakan botol galon sebagai tangki gravitasi, kita dapat memastikan aliran air yang stabil dan konsisten dari keran ke lokasi yang diinginkan. Anda bisa melakukannya sekarang! Jika Anda memiliki lebih banyak pertanyaan, jangan ragu untuk bertanya. Terima kasih atas perhatian Anda!
