    • Most players don't have tons of ice time to work on this stuff but you have UNLIMITED off-ice time. We want more players working on specific skill training off-ice and not using a lack of ice time as an excuse. So, it may be better demonstrated on the ice but that's not how it's intended to be used.

    • Nah, we'll stick with impossible. Just because you are watching the chest doesn't mean you will be able to defend it. These are drill designed to create time and space even when the defender is playing you correctly.

    • Thank for the feedback though.

    • Agree fully with 247 Hockey. There's a great video of Darryl Belfry working with Patrick Kane where he says, "we're going to work on making a move from the defender's best possible position. If you can beat the D from his best possible decision, you can succeed with anything less optimal." These moves will create time and space.

    @duongly@duongly5 жыл бұрын
  • on #2 if you're quick enough you can pass the puck between your legs. Against a not quite mobile defenseman it usually works well. Even if they're quick they try to catch you and then you back off and you have a great angle for a pass

  • This is a great video, I will do these moves on my friends when we play hockey

    @cadendubay7886@cadendubay78865 жыл бұрын
    • Try them for fun but if your friends are any good, they most likely won't work more than once or so. Basically, you're better off getting a real coach to explain stuff. There's a reason you only see the best danglers in the world (McDavid, Giroux, Kane, Gaudreau, and so on) able to do anything like these moves. They are what a coach will call a low percentage move. You're better off trying to get a shot passed them by changing your shot angle and always going for the open ice. And, if you do want to fake out a d, use your hips and shoulders more than puck movement. And good d will be watching your chest. Not the puck.

    @msanna4@msanna47 жыл бұрын
    • Man ALL these drills are exactly for you. That's the point of this video to create time/space and shooting lanes! Work on these moves. Shoot quicker and use 5 pucks. All 5 pucks at one target then repeat that for all 4 targets and repeat that for each drill. There are no shortcuts brother you got to put the work in. I am GIVING you the recipe but I can't make the food for you.

      @CoachZac@CoachZac7 жыл бұрын

    @flexsez@flexsez4 жыл бұрын
  • As a defenceman, the 1st one won’t always work, especially on a good d, as he would wait to be in front of the body, same with the second, if you take too long, he could lay you out in open ice, but other than that it’s a good move, as you said, pokechecks are a thing so if his stick is in the way of yours, lift up your stick, this one, he can lay you out if you don’t get out of the way after.

  • I play d and I watch the chest. Especially with that last one I would easily maybe start to cheap for the fake but then I’d cross over and hip check the player as they attempted to pass. I’ve done it before and I’ll gladly do it again. It’s also easy to make a forward that’s not as aware do what I want by faking like I’m going to cut them off for example and then as soon as they try to cut in front I anticipate that and hit them or get a solid poke check and head the other way.
