Can you plz delete this video(I am a defender)
hahaha
Lmao good video tho
lmfaoo
Then do what he is saying when you get the puck
defenders can learn a LOT from this video
I love when I come down the ice and the defense is a group of chairs
Right! It's the best.
LOL
@Silly Gamers I still wouldn’t get by them. 😉
Most defenders play like the chairs.
I actually move like a chair.....very real simulation
I did these moves on my buddy who is in the NHL. After I burned him with all five moves he said to me, "That's not fair because all of those moves are impossible to defend against." This KZhead video changed my life.
I knew it
Bs
Daniel Abarjel BS is my initials, yes.
What the nhl player namr
Bill Smith you liar
What happens if my opponent has a stick?
Tell him you only practice against chairs so that isn't fair!
247 Hockey noted
just pray they dont
Go to the store and get a hold of a. Stick
No
This will be better if demonstrated on ice. I like to see the skate position for each move.
Most players don't have tons of ice time to work on this stuff but you have UNLIMITED off-ice time. We want more players working on specific skill training off-ice and not using a lack of ice time as an excuse. So, it may be better demonstrated on the ice but that's not how it's intended to be used.
Yeah that would help a lot
It’d be nice, if possible, to do an on ice demo of each at the end of the video.
Great video as usual, thanks Z!
I play in a deck hockey league where we play on foot. These tutorials are perfect. Thank you for filming them.
I am a defender. I break wannabe superstars dreams.
Seb Crakpot I play as a defense men and play left wing either one I can play as
Same
Hahaha, that's awesome. However, defenders need to pay attention to this video and learn how to create offense when rushing the the puck.
lol
Noice me to m8 sometimes they try to fight me
These are great.... I'd title it "HARD" to defend.... if the D is watching your chest instead of the puck, he can defend you....
19stalkern thank you buddy.
Nah, we'll stick with impossible. Just because you are watching the chest doesn't mean you will be able to defend it. These are drill designed to create time and space even when the defender is playing you correctly.
Thank for the feedback though.
Agree fully with 247 Hockey. There's a great video of Darryl Belfry working with Patrick Kane where he says, "we're going to work on making a move from the defender's best possible position. If you can beat the D from his best possible decision, you can succeed with anything less optimal." These moves will create time and space.
Could u tell me the title of that video please?
Thanks for lowkey helping me become a better defenseman.
*snicker*
Hey Zack, Great Video Tips! My young guy just absorbs this stuff! Thanks again Zack.
Thanks a lot mate! I just watched your move, tried it the same night on ice and scored a beautiful goal. Thanks indeed !
I am D, but I take the puck up a lot. Not only has this helped to make me a better d, but it has also helped me in my rushes. Maybe a video on how best to defend against these moves?
GREAT video Zack! Can't wait to try these moves.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for this video. I’m not a player but I’ve always wanted to understand more about the moves in the game . I had to actually slow the video down so I could catch everything. Thank you, this will help in my enjoyment of watching these athletes perform.
This is a great vid!! I'm going to lead my team in goals and assists!!
Lets go!
I play forward and found this video really helpful it would be cool if you guys made a part 2!!!!
Thank you for good tips! 😄
Great video! As a suggestion, you should film each move with the camera behind you. That way it will make it easier to understand the left / right lateral movement.
on #2 if you're quick enough you can pass the puck between your legs. Against a not quite mobile defenseman it usually works well. Even if they're quick they try to catch you and then you back off and you have a great angle for a pass
This is a great video, I will do these moves on my friends when we play hockey
Try them for fun but if your friends are any good, they most likely won't work more than once or so. Basically, you're better off getting a real coach to explain stuff. There's a reason you only see the best danglers in the world (McDavid, Giroux, Kane, Gaudreau, and so on) able to do anything like these moves. They are what a coach will call a low percentage move. You're better off trying to get a shot passed them by changing your shot angle and always going for the open ice. And, if you do want to fake out a d, use your hips and shoulders more than puck movement. And good d will be watching your chest. Not the puck.
These, are really impossible to defend I play center so this is helpful, I always try to go through the legs and than sprint for the puck and try to get a break away but sometimes it doesn't work these deke strategy's really helped me thanks!
Nice video a lot of information and I will use this to train thanks
Great!
These are amazing!! These help a lot
Awesome, more coming!
nice video you help extremly to bring the skills on the next level hold on to make super videos👍👍👍
Evi Gasser that's right only if you train and use the drills daily!!!!
thanks for the help i have been haveing trubal getting around the defence
Thank You Coach
Thx improved so muck
I would really appreciate it THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO
You bet. Put it to good use.
This helped a lot thanks
thanks brother
Thanks this helped me last game I played
Can you make the videos about training of endurance(specific and general)please?
A lot of people seem interested in offseason training videos. Could you make a video that describes a good summer routine (including frequency and timing of training) and how to spread it out throughout the day?
Great moves it helped me
If your not playing on ice i feel it helps to watch some basketball crossover drills and watch how they use theyre feet to confuse the defender
Definitely some good transition there.
The offseason is almost here. How about more of your great off-ice training with rollerblades? For fitness, how about short intensive real-time circuit training workouts?
My Name i agree
That's for the suggestion, we'll get to work!
247 Hockey // Hockey Workouts, Training & Drills nice vid I'm new I subbed and liked keep up the good work
247 Hockey yay
This works great thanks
Nice!
like aLWAYS GOOOD STUFF!
Thanks for helping being a better defenseman bro
Smart
I'm on Minnesota special Olympics floor hocky I used a move if my own a sudden side jump the defense had no chance and I scored easily also thanks for the good tips as fast as I run o doubt average players are going to have a chance
Very nice I’m going to try this on my next game
Love it. Zach do you have any tips on shooting under pressure. I have a good shot and good hands but I always end up gliding in the offensive zone and shooting on the D in front of me or directly in the goalie's belly!!! How can I practice shooting under pressure off the ice ?
Man ALL these drills are exactly for you. That's the point of this video to create time/space and shooting lanes! Work on these moves. Shoot quicker and use 5 pucks. All 5 pucks at one target then repeat that for all 4 targets and repeat that for each drill. There are no shortcuts brother you got to put the work in. I am GIVING you the recipe but I can't make the food for you.
Sometimes it's better to do a fake shot. Then move in and do a wrist shot, can do a fake slap shot, pull back a fake pass then a wrist shot or saucer shot.
the fake shot lateral step shot... Mitch Marner does it very well on the power play. Great vid
Exactly! Keep practicing and master it!
what's on the bottom of your stick? Is it a coating to help from wear while doing dryland?
As a defenceman, the 1st one won’t always work, especially on a good d, as he would wait to be in front of the body, same with the second, if you take too long, he could lay you out in open ice, but other than that it’s a good move, as you said, pokechecks are a thing so if his stick is in the way of yours, lift up your stick, this one, he can lay you out if you don’t get out of the way after.
I had a hat trick in my game thanks for the vid
thx
how to keep the puck online with the net when trying to score a goal
hi can you give me tips to stop breakaways so the other team dose not score? thanks!!:3
Nice keep it up
To paraphrase the great Bruce Lee: chairs don't check back. :P lol. (good tips though)
im trying out for a AAA team and your videos are really helping me become better. Maybe you can make a video on kepping ypur head up in bantams thx
Luca Buonato I play triple A, and a tip is to always go as hard as you can. Good luck 👍🏻
Please answer this question is this at the Burnsville Minnesota training center because I’ve been there multiple times it looks very familiar
I wanna see you do these with skates on
Please make a video of how to learn to slide bottom hand an be comfortable and also I would appreciate a video of how to go through players.
I have. Use a Toilet Paper roll and hold on with your body hand. Watch my video where I talked about the good stickhandling drill.
What kind of puck is that?! Great vid!
These might help me in my champs
I wish I can play hockey again It’s been 4-5 years how long do you think it’ll take to get good again or great and I was pretty good back then I hope you respond bro
Well this would be GREAT for me if my school used a puck for floor hockey but we just use a ball and the ball rolls on and on making it harder (for me)
How to read a goalies positioning and exploit it
Dawson Hunt great ideas!
This is the start to my journey of making varsity in 2 months
I have played both offense and defense. Taking the body does trump these moves most of the time. But still very good to have these tricks in the bag.
That's true for ANY move. Problem is if you pull the move off the right way it makes playing the body very difficult.
this helped so much, thank you.
I doubt there is any video on the youtube about efficiently delivering a body check or setting up bodychecks
How to keep good control of the puck
what are some good moves for picking up puck bunnies at the bar after games?
3rd one looks is my favoutite
Nice
I am the best stick handler on the team this just made me a little better thanks.
i'm Gabbi, im in ten u these are perfect for me and my team. thank you
What stick curve is that ?
Would love a video on the basics/fundamentals of shooting. I was never taught those as a youngster so would love to hear whatever you have to share
The first one is like bo horvats move/goal/dangle in gm 2 of 2020 playoffs
These are great I used the third and fifth in my game and they work really well
Nice, way to put it into action.
What stick are you using? Is it an on ice stick or does it have a street blade?
On ice stick that I just use for off-ice
Coach does left handed stick handlers share the same moves? Also Thank you for the video it helps a lot
No they have a different puck
“Plays the body clean, too bad the defender wasn’t mesmerized with those dangles.”
"Wonders when the next time you are in MN to prove it!" hahaha!
I like this video
What kind of floor is that ?
The toe drag could be way better on fake shots one(1st move)
I understand these are off-ice drills, but I would have liked to have seen these also demonstrated on skates in a rink.
Sorry, maybe next time.
great video. really screws with the defender.
BOOM! Keep working!
I already knew all of those dangles
these are the perfect stuff to help me shut down selfish fowards looking for a highlight reel tik tok.
Thanks I play d and of
I just came into curiosity after many years, would these still work with checking( like bantam, midget, junior)
These work for Forwards in the NHL, their are hundreds of examples of NHL forward using these moves successfully.
could you do a video about quickness and speed
I've got a few on my channel.
maybe a vid for defenders? 👀
I find myself getting really fatigued in my legs in the second hour usually with recreational playing. Usually I lose all my energy when trying to defend someone, all that stopping and starting really kills me. Any tips on how to boost my endurance for the last quarters of the game
Go on runs!! It will strengthen your legs and your lungs.
Can someone tell where Zac lives? In USA or Canada?
I had a hockey game today, and I got the puck through the defenders stick, then there was another one, and I 360ed then passed and my friend did a one timer.
Johnny dangles.
I play d and I watch the chest. Especially with that last one I would easily maybe start to cheap for the fake but then I’d cross over and hip check the player as they attempted to pass. I’ve done it before and I’ll gladly do it again. It’s also easy to make a forward that’s not as aware do what I want by faking like I’m going to cut them off for example and then as soon as they try to cut in front I anticipate that and hit them or get a solid poke check and head the other way.
Love how all the D here are so positive they would defend these moves every time. I get it, it's easy to write down exactly how you would play the move. Different to actually do it.
Kane drag would work better than a toe pull 😊
idk how i sign in on 247 hockey.....
shoulder to the chest defends everything. -left dee good stuff though
Nasty moves
Super nasty
cool
I play triple aaa hockey and this is easy to defend
Me, a defender be like: I'm about to end this mans whole career
