you have a trucks that don't have any aftermarket cab corners available? here is away you can make your own using basic tools and using recycled metal

    • The classic car and kit car industry is a billion pound turnover concern The reason it packed up was the EU inspectors were told to fail them this came from BMW and the other German car makers they wanted everybody to buy there cars

    • @@tonyclough9844 Thatchers reign ended 30 years ago, and she's been dead 7 years! I'd say we've had plenty of time to retrain. Any shortage of skilled tin bashers is more to do with nobody liking to get dirty hands rather than any politics. I do a little basic metalwork myself, and know a few very good car restorers, English and Polish.

  • I've now watched a dozen or so videos of this guy, put simply he's fantastic. If you work in fabrication or a vehicle body shop watch this guy, not only does he tell you how, he also tells you why you nead to do it in a certain way, he is obviously a very experienced fabricator.     • Watch the setting up a welder video.. Miller was far easier to adjust for thicker thinner metals.

  • Great video and explanations on how to approach a not so easy job. You talk to us and not at us. I too spot and tack without the use of a welding helmet when fitting up parts, but always have safety glasses and hold the mig gun so that the arc flash is away from you and is hidden by the gas nozzle.Thanks again.

  • When I make a lip as you did around the 39 point, I use a fender washer with a small hole and drag the same way I made the first line. You are an artist!

  • Gotta love the old school east coast enginuity. Reminds me of my Grandpa, make something out of nothing with what you have on hand. From back in the day when a guy maybe couldn't afford a new replacement part, or like you said maybe couldn't get one. Thanks for another great video!

  • Good Job! I believe videos like yours is a big help for the new fabricators as well as the guys that be doing this kind of repairs for awhile. There are a lot of aftermarket parts out there for all kinds of vehicles, it is the shipping cost you need to pay attention to. So your video shows a good alternate way of doing the repairs, specially if the parts are not available.

  • Just found this site. Loving what you are doing. I am rebuilding a ‘41 Chevy pickup and don’t have all the expensive equipment to fab metal. Great tips on the offset edge and a simple way to curve the metal with the pipe. Good work.
