This is the most satisfying throw pottery process of mud clay wheel pottery pitcher making, glazing and firing process in a big traditional kiln.
This time Skill Spotter found the true ancient technique of making terracotta pottery that actually exists in some parts of the earth.

  • as a potter i have a chair, electric wheel with table amd various plates to attach to the wheel to throw, im in admiration of these men how they squat to throw & only have this small wheel, and with ease they pull a large pot 👏👍alot of “ respect” to their work

  • This is absolutely AMAAAAAAZING!! This gives reclaiming a whole new definition. I know they are making the clay but by drying it out and wedging it it’s close to how we reclaim. Wow. Just wow! Can you just imagine what a pigmill would be for these people?!?!!! Did you see him cut that pot off the wheel? I watched it several times and couldn’t tell how he did it it was soo fast!! And that kiln load!!! That gives a whole new meaning to tumble stacking!! My gosh!!!

  • I’ve watched video after video and nobody ever tells how the glaze does not stick to the biscuits? Otherwise it’s amazing! They must have very healthy and flexible bodies and hats off to their hard work 👏🏻 But please! About the glaze and the biscuits?

    • Actually the biscuits were attached with wheat flour as you see in the video the guy was mixing the flour. That's why they didn't stick with the pots and glaze. If they stick them with clay then biscuits can stick together with glaze and pot. Thank you very much for your comment.

    • Glaze is made by grinding old glass pieces in powder shape and then mixed with water and coated on the pots. Temp is around more than 300 degrees.

  • If this is to be used to store water in summer I have to say that if they’re glazing this spot they’re defeating the purpose of the pot itself. Breathable earthenware is what creates cold water in summer!
