In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Ambati Rayudu. He is an Indian former International cricket player who is well known for his amazing performances in the IPL. He is also one of my favorite cricket players and I am so thrilled to have him on my show.
This was an in-depth cricket conversation where we talked about his cricket career starting from Mumbai Indians and then carrying forward to CSK. We also discussed how and why the World Cup 2023 finals were not in the favor of the Indian team and what exactly happened. Furthermore, we talked about his current lifestyle, his time in ICL, the difficulty of facing fast bowlers, and much more.

I was in 9th grade when I got to play with rayudu, he was probably 2-3 yrs younger than me, he was my neighbour friends cousin. We all bowled to him all afternoon and just watched him play every ball. None of us couldn't bowl him over. He was doing records in junior cricket already being a middle schooler. And we were proud that he was our neighbour's cousin brother. People compared him to young Sachin while he was in school, a talent who was purposely shunned as he couldn't "pay up" his way like others.

In search of gold, we lost a diamond. 2019 Rayadu would have been the game changer with the kind of form he was in and vijay Shankar wad selected instead of him. Classic example of how cricket and policts play from backend. He is one of finest cricketers and dhoni rightly used him at CSK. Forever champion 🏆 Rayudu❤

Ambatti raidu sat quietly throughout the ipl 2023 season and played crucial shots during the final ipl, shows he is a player of big games. He was one of the most reliable middle order batsman for wc19 squad but politics made its way in his career. Hats off to you ambati sir❤

Once Rayudu was called as next sachin tendulkar and in 2001 or 2003 England u19 tour he was sweeping fast bowlers. But, sachin tendulkar never tried and Rayudu never got the chance at early age. He used to hit big hundreds in domestic cricket for hyderabad.

Rayudu could’ve gone on to achieve a lot more if he had the same number of opportunities as someone like KL Rahul. One of the most underrated players of Indian cricket. Glad to see him so happy, calm & composed. Thanks for this interview!

I genuinely think he didn't get what he deserved. I admired him alot and got overwhelmed thinking about him. This person is such a gem! I remembered first time seeing him in 2011 in MI advertisement where he caught the ball and smiled nd I loved his innocent smile so much and when CSK took him I was the happiest person and always wished him to Be Good in CSK and everytime he proved his worth. Now he's CSKian for life❤
I have followed Rayudu's journey from the time he was the U19 captain and then ICL & IPL and so forth.... definitely he could have contributed much more if given fair chances....one of the most underrated Indian cricketers....2019 non selection would definitely be a blot on the selection committee and management of that time

Great show. It is one of the most realistic one which makes every host to be open and honest. Good work. As you are doing quite many shows with sport personalities. Ambati Rayudu is one of the grounded and humble sport person. Really liked his honesty to say that audience come to see the game only for entertainment. If possible could you ask any sport person what is the role of supporters in the game. Like mentioned, Indian team lost the final not because of lack of skill but mainly due to conditions. I think in this situation, cheers and support from the audience in the ground could have made the factor especially when Virat and Rahul were batting. It was one of the best partnership that I have seen to play as they were respecting conditions, game and building the innings to win rather to just be a flamboyant. It was very sad to see that at this point of the game audience were pitch silent and did not support. Despite having a 120000 audience in the ground India lost and we allowed the Australia to dominate us. Every cheer for a single could have derailed the confidence and advantage AUS got from the conditions. Hope the fans could understand and support the team even in difficult times not just for boundaries or taking wickets.

Very underrated player. Street smart player. India's bad luck that he could not represent India for long time.
Back in early 2000s when Sportstar magazine was the go to for all the nerds and enthusiasts, I remember this feature on Rayudu saying all great things(this was even before the 2003 WorldCup) and for guys like me particularly from AP were like when are we seeing this dude in the Indian Jersey. but the level of politics and dragging down that he had to endure to wear one, my god.. Yes the streets won't forget stuff..
