No problem as this signature is not valid anyway, no knowledgable company will accept it as real as scanned signatures are also never valid (unless both parties agree to it, but then you would need a paper trail with this agreement) at least that is how it is in Europe.
A neat method to create a digital signature. In my case, I'm an artist, I just use my drawing tablet to sign and make it a png. Any cheap drawing tablet will suffice, and I'm sure any program similar to photoshop will be fine as well.

I just signed on my Samsung phone with the S-Pen, took it into GIMP (free software), and used select by colour to erase the background. It's a signature. It doesn't matter if it is a rasterized image, I'm hardly going to blow it up to put it on a billboard.
I'll be honest, I was able to do it only by MS word with almost the same quality. Very easy and not time consuming 😊

You can use this for drawing as well! You can import your sketch like that or even do your outlines on paper and then color them digitally.
This is way more steps than you really need. Sign paper, scan, magic erase background. Done.

I did something like this back in high school with my dad's signature. 😂😂 It was just an excuse note, and I just printed it on lined paper, so, nobody questioned it. 😂😂 PS. I probably wouldn't try it to cause fraud unless you want to be behind bars.

I made a brush of my signature and been using it for years now. 😁 It’s easier and you can still select what ever colour you want.

Same Idk how I did it now, but it was not on photoshop. Pretty sure I just did it a bunch of times in adobe draw(now fresco). Then its an SVG too, this is such a nuanced tutorial.

Can we talk about how beautiful his calligraphy even for a pseudo signature??
Or, just convert to grayscale, adjust the curves OR levels to get a nice clean black, convert to bitmap, export as a TIFF, then import into your favorite layout and change the colour THERE without having to make a new photoshop file every time you want the sig in a different colour.
The amount of valuable practical advice on this channel is staggering!
It's useful until you actually have to sign virtually. My mom had this issue while requesting for documents online. She was doing so from her phone and needed to sign so she did a squiggle of her name and it worked. If she was on her laptop I would've definitely given her my drawing tablet to do so much easier. If anyone is wondering she needed some documents about the size of our house (in a nutshell public documents) and they needed some signature to proceed. Sometimes websites do that.
Dude, nobody is going to go through that trouble lol you just have to make it somewhat legible. They literally accept anything.
True, this probably isn't worth it for signing documnets. I think it's more intended for people who want to sign their digital art and stuff like that.

Then use an encrypted signing app like EasySign, it’s much better.
I did this using a web site for removing the background which was the sheet of paper with my signature on it. Use a sharpie for best results.
I just used my galaxy note the pressure sensitive pen makes it look really good

Adobe already has a feature that does this for you called sign and fill. Saves your signature so anytime you need to place it on a digital form, it automatically comes up when you click the text box.
It's also very helpful for those who sketch on paper and then want to colour the sketch digitally.😃 It's good that yours shorts have started getting suggested to me.👍🏼

Yep. This is not a digital signature. Nobody should be doing this.
Might I point out, this is equally as secure as the 'no signature' on the back of most people's credit/debit cards that's never verified or the scribble most people sign on on a receipt. You want digital security use public key encryption, which no one uses and is Hellainconvenient. This isn't for security purposes, he never said it was for security purposes, the fuck is wrong with you two? Examples of use: Signature on email, signature on digital work, signature as a watermark. JFC.

I mean, sometimes accepted digital signatures on digital forms are as simple as typing your name in, or a template.
@@jasong4460 if you’re talking about NFTs, nope. All you need is PGP/GPG. Of course, you have to get people to trust that your public key is yours by having people sign your public key. This stuff predates any cryptocurrency, and the concepts are what cryptocurrencies are built on

It's not a digital signature! It's a digitized signature. Digital signature uses asymmetrical encryption to proof the ownership of a data package. Digitalized signature are highly unsecure and easier to copy than classical signatures on paper and even classical signatures are highly unsecure and easy to fake. Digital signature on the other hand is the most secure way to authenticate yourself on the internet.

Adobe Acrobat mixes the two, you get a 'stamp' on the PDF and clicking on it shows the details of the digital signature, so if you print it you still see the digitized one printed, if you open it you can verify it's actually the person that signed it

He makes it so complicated: Select by colour, delete the white, adjust the image size and bang! Instant signaturer.
Honestly lol. You could even just use the quick selection or the magic wand tool, select the signature, then copy it to a new layer. Delete the old and there you go. These 20 extra steps he included seem to function only to confuse new users to photoshop and over-complicate a simple process.

Or save a few steps by just chroma-keying out the white background. You can raise the contrast before you do it if the picture isn't great quality, but I've never had any problem with this method.

I personally redraw the signature in illustrator in vector for my customer making a clean signature to be use for corporate purposes but your technique works for personal usage and it's way easier to master.
Better yet, once isolated, take your signature into illustrator and convert it to a vector so that it’s infinitely scalable.
For pdf’s just sign on a white paper and use preview tool in MacOS and create digital signature by just scanning that piece of paper. 🙂

With Alt/ Opt, You can have more control while sliding (without using it, the effect may be too harsh).

DON'T DO IT! Keeping a scanned signature on a non-hardcore secured device (i.e. an everyday phone or computer) is one of the worst possible ideas. A signature may be the last resort to get stolen money refunded. But no chance, if the signatur was also stolen, or forgotten on a sold phone or computer.

Signatures are quite crucial. If your identity were ever stolen, people could use your bio and your signature for whatever they'd do. There's a reason why someone could get to jail for imitating someone else's signature without their consent.
I think this is a good idea but NOT for your legal signature. Maybe your Instagram name written by hand or something like that :)

You should also apply a blur. Put the brightness up a bit. The intensity up a bit in the contrast all the way down and It will smooth out the edges

Great tutorial - im doing this process since 2005.
Till now, updating signature was easy but you changed it man!
This sounds so much harder than taking the same picture, putting it in Illustrator and using the Image Trace for the same result
Easier with paint tool SAI: after scanning, adjust the contrast and brightness untill you're satisfied, then on layers select "brightness to transparency" or something like that, and boom there you have it, now you can lock the transparency and color it whatever you want

alternative: don't use a raster. trace your signature in a software that allows you to create vector graphics, infinitely resizable.
An alternative is : Just go to select > color range > and choose white. Then ctrl. + Shift + I and then ctrl. + J. Voila ! Your signature is ready !

Ah yes, fuzzy select and free select + the delete key, an easy way to clear background of something you want to make into a png, plus gimp is free.
On a Mac it’s so much easier. They basically do that for you, all you gotta do is scan it in

@@Sarcasshole there’s a specific feature in Preview I think that allows you to make an electronic signature. Sign on a white paper and hold it up to the webcam, it does the rest for you and it’s saved and ready whenever you open docs

There is a MUCH MUCH easier way: Open Preview and then just click on Markup then click on the Signature icon then if you have a Mac with a trackpad, you can just draw your signature on it, or if you have an M1 iMac or something (with a mouse ONLY) like I do, write it on a plain sheet of paper and choose the "camera" option then show it and then you can add it to your document. Once you add it once, it gets saved in the signature option under markup so you don't have to repeat it....
No. It will be plain black with your method. This method it has darker and lighter parts because it is an actual autograph. Some depth.

Alternatively you can take a photo of your signature and make sure there are no shadows in the photo. Send the photo to illustrator and use the image trace feature and use black and white and then have your signature as a vector.

Or use a stylus to draw onto a transparent background on my old friend IbisPaint X (free and on mobile), then export the file with transparent background. Connect mobile device to computer and transfer the file over, then use however you wish! :) Edit: Forgot about the simpler way lol, take photo well lit and clearly legible on white paper, export to IbisPaint X, click the layers page and then the three vertically aligned dots, select “remove white” (either “colour” or “greyscale”, whichever you want) and boom transparent background. Export, send to computer the same way as my previous method, and use as you wish :)
yeah there's a ton of easy ways to do this, but this is a good Photoshop tutorial nonetheless.
