This is only on the southern border with South Korea. The northern border with china/Russia is way less guarded. Still those countries have a policy to send all defectors back to North Korea. Still pretty difficult, but easier than is described in the video.

For those who didn't want to watch the vid: The best way to escape is by somehow crossing the border and getting to Mongolia, but they have to cross the Gobi desert with little to no resources Other ways include: Ramming the electrical fence with a stolen car, bribing the guards with your family's life savings, or crossing the oceans east or west Hope that helps!!
