  • With Serena about to retire, people have quickly forgotten how good she was in her prime. She looks so majestic and athletic and her game looks so fluid and effortless. She almost looks like she she’s playing a different sport than her opponents and feels like a divine entity completely overwhelming and devouring her victims. Some of her matches from this period feel like a ritualistic sacrifice instead of tennis matches. It’s just devastatingly beautiful. We won’t have a player who feels larger than life like Serena, Steffi, Martina for a very, very long time. Especially in today’s climate.

  • Even if Serena doesn’t win another grand slam. I feel so amazingly proud for following her career. I remember watching her for the first time for the 2002 Us Open Final and I couldn’t believe that my complexion was being represented in such way. She has helped me believe in myself, fight for myself, win! but most important, to never ever give up!

  • I love Osaka but there will never be another Serena. It hurts me to see her battling injuries in the latter part of her career but she will always be remembered as an outstanding athlete and champion! She and Venus changed the women’s game and thru all the hate and adversity, they prevailed. You never heard of any off court controversy and they gave their all in their matches. She is still the G.O.A.T., to me.

  • Every generation rises one that seem to be born for that particular reason,no matter where he or she stands. I remembered my dads favourite saying, those who reached the top must first climb the hill,in this beautiful athletes case Serena, I believe she not only climbed the hill but the mountains and into the clouds and Is the greatest of all time ,and it will be years before we see another one of her,I believe .must admit am not a fan of tennis till the lock down b/s and now almost addicted to this.haha.hope she keeps herself in shape and comes back for another year.God bless.
