The reason as to why Alex is underrated is because of everyone around him at the same time during his come-up. You had the likes of Jones, Cormier, Miocic, McGregor, Holloway, Aldo, Adesanya, Nurmagomedov, and many others. He was literally competing for the limelight whilst being the only Australian to ever achieve real success within MMA. There were so many MMA giants created in the 2010's of the UFC it was insane. He single-handedly put Australia on the MMA map and people started to take Australia seriously as a competitor.

Volk is one of many ufc fighters that teaches respect and good moral principles and has also helped with my anxiety and depression. Just because you might not see him or other fighters as role models doesn't mean others are the same.

Volk's authenticity and in general personality makes him a real fighter people can look up to. No weight politics helping less talented and strong fighters getting titles. The Daghis has an advantage, Aziz and USADA knows.
Win or lose volk is an all time great. Living legend. But if he does find a way to win under these circumstances.... I get goosebumps even thinking about it. But islam saying "no excuses" after volk saved the fight shows his true colors. He never wants to face volk on a full camp again.

Volk is just an all around better person in terms of carrying himself and how hes willing to take risks and put more on the line for our entertainment, he also isnt gifted wins on decisions because of coat tails, he isnt anyones shadow, and he isn't aftraid of losing.

If Islam got an opportunity to fight for WW just like volk has got at LW, Obviously Islam will have nothing to lose like volk has nothing to lose in this fight. He would take it.
You're not getting it buddy it is risky for volk this is his second attempt at the lightwieght title. If he loses again there is no 3rd fight with Islam. So him taking this on short notice is actually extremely risky because he didn't get to put a full camp. It's not the same as islam going to ww to fight leon or Colby totally different. Now if he did it a second time after losing then yeah it would be the same.

it's a good point, given the champ is Leon Edwards, someone islam has trained and grappled with previously, I agree with you think islam probably would take that on 12 days and it is the same risk, volk only getting second shot because of how close and excing first fight was, but the risk is still the same, no guarantees of a 2nd shot.
