    • I think the singing on all the tracks is perfected, but this track in particular I would say has some of the best writing. It’s absolutely devastating, and you can really feel the abandonment he has been holding in.

  • James Blake has evolved beautifully as a musician. He has range, very creative lyrics and production, and I get a chill humble vibe from him. Say What You Will is probably my favorite song of 2021 so far

    • he didnt evolve, he just changed his sound to more approachable (its not a bad thing tho) but Overgrown is still his best album and Retrograde and Overgrown are one of the greatest songs that was ever created.

  • James Blake is his own genre. I've seen him live 3 times. I cried at EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. He's my favorite artist next to Erykah Badu...for obvious reasons. They pour their souls into their work in such an intentional way that it's impossible not to get lost in it.

    • I think anyone that listens to James’ music can agree that his music makes amazing lullabies lol and I don’t think it’s necessarily bad that it puts you to sleep, I think it’s a testament to how ethereal and mesmerizing his sound is. The whole album is definitely in my bedtime playlist as well, and I might cry a bit but I’ll sleep better than ever 😂

  • I love your reactions because you really feel the music, like you can't even choose to like it or not, your body just fully react to it, I experience it the same way, and the album made me cry and recoil, it went trough my spine straight away (Frank Ocean does that to me too). The down side is that for a reaction channel we can see when you kind of faking it for views, like it's obvious Lana Del Rey doesn't do it for you anymore and it's just business now, (not a reproche, I'm the same, it's not as mesmerizing anymore). So I'm just happy to see you really enjoying some music like here, it validates my own reaction somehow. Have a good one !
