#Sonya7iv #lumixs5iix #review
I love how all the Lumix S 1.8 lenses are the same size.
lumix S5IIX after the updates!! w
Lumix user since 2016, recently switched to Sony Full frame Godlike autofocus, love the colors, horrible IBIS. Switch to Lumix S5II and never looked back.
wait... You loved the colors of the Sony??? I've never heard anyone say that before lol
@@Studiotek same.. I escaped from Sony to Nikon for the colors 🤮
Great video! I've had both as well, ended up sticking with S5IIX. That stabilization makes a world of difference the way I film. Even though I prefer Lumix over Sony I always watch these types of videos to 'justify; sticking with Lumix.
That's good!! Just stick with you and your decision 😁 No matter what you use, being yourself is important 💯
Kensei, video quality and production quality going up every video you make! Great job! I like how technical this video gets on the differences between the two bodies.
I jumped from sony to lumix a couple days ago, sold all of my sony gear and bought the s52x with some lenses, couldnt be happier
what was the reason why you decided to do that?
I own a S5iix and can say that for the money it is very hard to get a better compact mirrorless camera at the moment. The Sony does look like it can last longer but for me that is the only reason why I would pay 300 dollars more for the Sony A7IV... In the end both cameras are great and it is hard to go wrong with either one.
@@LuisCruz-yg6rsyou can buy an A7IV in excellent condition used for under 2,000 easy. I’ve seen them as low as 1,700. Another benefit of Sony vs lumix is lens options. Sony FF has been around much longer so many more 3rd party lenses and what not, and the lenses seem to be getting smaller too which is nice.
I still use both. Strengths and weaknesses for both.
@@LuisCruz-yg6rslast longer as in the build quality? The Sony overheats after like 30 mins
Used both and definitely the S5II. I think the A7IV only has the autofocus thats better than the S5II but Lumix did just released a huge update which improves the autofocus and it now competes with all the other mirrorless
So glad I bought the S5IIX! Couldn’t be happier. Thanks for confirming it!
You can use 96MP on the Lumix without tripod with the new firmware. Im pretty sure. And the new firmware boosted the stabilization and much more.
Nice video bro. I just sold my S5IIX after 2 weeks, and switched to A74 because of: - Losing PDAF on 1080p60 or above - Lowlight performance isn't really good (even the original S5 is better than S5IIX) because of the phase detect pixels, Lumix company confirmed that, i believe. - HDMI latency (~1 second), but u can change the HMDI output resolution to 1080p and turn off the audio recording, it will be improved. - The moire performance is not good. - The PDAF is good but it missed focus a couple times when i was working with client so it makes me unconfident sometimes. - The lenses are quite expensive and limited than A74. - And the last thing, when i was editing the S5IIX's footages, i noticed that the sharpness is not as good as the older models of Lumix that i've used (like original S5, GH5, GH6,...), it seems more digital sharpness even compared to A74. But anyway, i still love the way they made S5IIX, it's a great camera, it's just not for me. And guys, remember this, the best and perfect camera doesn't exist, just the most suitable camera for your needs exists, and in my case, it's A74. Have a great work ;)
Yes the details are nicer on the S5, even in v-log. The S5II almost looks like smartphone footage in 4K when using other profiles than vlog.
@@slows728 yeah bro, it's not that bad but i dont like that anyway, just my opinion ;)
This was a great comparison. Nicely done!
I may have missed if you mention it, but did you use the latest Lumix firmware that came out about a week ago for the auto focus test/improvements?
great comparison. Is the sony lens FE 35mm F1.8 SEL35F18F ?
Would be cool to see image comparison of the x versus the black magic 6k
I though about getting the lumix, but the choice of lenses and the cost of selling up was not worth it in the end. I also love nature photography video and the Sony wins for that (lens choice and auto focus) I have never had the A74 overheat even in Kyushu mid August. My view is choose the system you like based of what you do and stick with it, the best thing you can do is learn you craft rather than gear.
"The more I test, the more I get lost" funny lol great comparison video and I really enjoy watching your content!
I recently purchased Panasonic S5IIX and I loved it 👍
For me, I value having 4k60 uncropped and 4k120 for my work so I will go for the ZVE1 over the panasonic for video purposes and I do not do long form recording
Experience on overheating?
The fact we can choose a7iv or s5iix in that price range makes 2020 or later as the golden era of mirrorless. I wish Panasonic does better in distribution in South East Asia, especially with their L-mount lenses availability & pricings, hard to get sigma's too. That's the only problem that prevented me dipping my toes into Lumix Full Frame.
Did you test the AF of lumix after its recent update ? Or was this comparison done before its release?
I made this video before the update. But the video about it is gonna be posted soon!!
Thank you, can't wait for it. Love your content :)
Please do comparison with the Sony a6000 vs Sony A73.
Incredibly well made video
Which firmwares are these? Thanks...
I have the S5II and I love it, for the price it's just amazing!!!!
Let's give some more Love to Panasonic. They are excellent cameras and dollars for specs are unmatched.
love your videos
is the 4k 60p in crop mode?
A7iv anyday 😊
Lumix of course. Proud user of Lumix cameras since 2008. Never looked back.
💯💯🔥🔥😭
I'm a pixel peeper so if lumix s5iix had more megapixeles would be a perfect camera for me. I still prefer it though, I have it. Also after the firmware update the ibis is mind blowing, almost like gimbal.😊
How good is the auto white balance for night photography on the Sony? I have the Panasonic s5ii and it is really bad for night photography. The photos are excessively warm. It makes my process slower because I need to spend too much time fixing it. I didn't have that problem with my Olympus camera. So I may switch away from Panasonic
Change white auto balance to ABWC and it will solve problem tor you. But to be honest auto white balance is wrong choice, and will cost you additional work in post
The black out style of S5IIX is cool until I'm in a dark room (or almost any room) I need a flash light to set the mode dial. Not everyone has built in night vision. I wish that was still white. Other than that This is my go to camera for photos and video over my Sony stuff. With the new firmware, the S5IIX IBIS has made all of my gimbals pretty much obsolete.
S5IIX 👌
but win in all other categories(lumix low light better when properly expose)
did you upgrade the firmware? the high resolution mode has a hand held mode now
THIS! I was about to write sth like that. I didnt liked this video review. So dishonest imo. Also after 10 days from new firmware update for Lumix, what is game changer even more.
a7m4 was overheated when I was filming interview and event. So if I gotta do anything even super long recording by just one camera I wanna use LUMIX. If I have a7s3 as well that is not gonna happen tho...💸💸💸
Wonderfull video ! Thanks for that. My word: s5mkiix doesn't overheat, end of discussion ! 😉
I have S5II for myself and a7IV at my job - and I hate that I would love to use their child :D Always missing something that has the other one :D
We need a PANASONY 😂😂😂
Bro I’m a wedding videographer and small content maker. which one is suitable for me 😊
Uhh... you lost me at 1:56 "A7IV is better because you just get to choose what you want." Right after mentioned that the S5IIX has way more options. Looks like you might have been confused again.
Lumix S5ii is $2,150 with the 2 lenses or the Sony A7iv for $2,500 body only with zero lenses at best buy today. I am more than happy with my amazingly stabilized Lumix hybrid camera.
I had the s5iix and idk man the camera just felt slow… really laggy, and just felt like a slouch to use.. but the photos and colors and video was good..
I own it. I had the same impression when taking pictures. Once I changed it to use mechanical shutter, instead of electronic shutter, it totally changed the responsiveness. Not sure if that would've made a difference for you.
I got it right. B is Sony. I can clearly spot the difference, as camera B got sharp focus and better dynamic range.
But overall less cinematic and too clinical.
And too shaky
@@jpmongol yeaah that's true. The camera A is also a little bit brighter and more batter in the shadow part.
S5II has much nicer IBIS but both the S5 and the A7IV have better resolution in 4K.
I used the fx3 and the a7 and I literally shot a musical with ton of singing and dancing and movement with autofocus and with the new update the autofocus was amazing nothing went out of focus and no jumping around and shot it all hand held with my s52x I’m so glad I bought this camera I fell in love with Panasonic when I used the eva1 and with the autofocus fixing it feels more natural
The Sony A7IV overheats. If you're a pro run and gun shooter, especially if you like to shoot in 4K 60p, that's a deal breaker.
To me it makes no sense to compare the sony to the lumix as sony lacks to many fearures to be compared. The Sony has no fan and overheats very fast, it has no 6k and no open gate, the ibis is bad as well. I would never buy such an outdated camera.
Vlog looks natural
Sony is the BEST ❤ LOVE SONY❤
Sony will love you back 🔙
The IBIS is night and day better on the Lumix, it's not even a competition.
If you want to have the camera with the worst color science go for Sony! 😀
Sony skintones are just 🤢 I very muchprefer skintones on Panasonic, it would be enough reason for me to choose Lumix
Maybe cut your nails to feel better the grip on lumix.. :D?
I could tell A was Lumix
You just breezed over the facts the Sony is non reliable long form shooting 😅 1 hour before overheating can’t be standard. Come on Sony it’s mid 2024. Imagine buying a car that should go 300 miles per fill up and it dies at 150 miles. Our expectations for $2200 is a pretty low for brand loyalty when the resulting images are so close now.
I love this channel
Thank you!
Lumix is Panasonic
Lumix s5iix is actually better
A is clearly Lumix, because the look, skintone and color is sooooooo much better.
I hate color grading s-log
I only watched your channel because My girlfriend was watching because she thinks you’re so cute… Sony‘s auto focus blows away the Lumix and the Lumix ibis blows away Sony ibis… So…?
Lumix loose AF battle at FFrame high frame rates
A7IV has better build quality than S5IIX???
I had both, lumix feels a lot better, solid and big, feels expensive. Sony is not bad but feels more plastic and I hated that overheated, that was my main problem. I never had an issue of camera turning off but just the fact to feel the camera hot was annoying
@@leonardocabrera468 ... had the A7IV, too. That's why I asked that question. A7IV did overheat several times for me... rear section of frame is mostly plastic. Body was not the same as my A7SIII.
I laugh at people who say Sony has good color science NOW... it still looks like puke and everyone corrects for it
Sony is more expensive and makes people look green, Lumix is a winner.
LUMIX makes people look pink. It’s a wb shift. Both have Sony sensors
Older Sony ones had a push in the green channel
The Sony A7c II in this case will please you better.
Sony head here, and sony kicks lumix ice. lol
Both crop at 4k 60 fps.. pass
skin color on a7IV is so terrible
Panasonic has horrible autofocus lol
With new update is very close to Sony A7IV but its little stickier on A7iv.
LUMIX has worst auto focus 😂😂😂....
🤔🤔
the usual complain🤷
What is that Pic? Mao×Santos?
What is auto focus performance when you cant even use the camera because it overheated hahaha
Gotta love those bland, ugly Sony colors and toasty auto-shutdowns, right? 🤣🤣🤣
Panasonic Cams? 😂🤦🏻♂️ No thanx 🤢
