Ever since you replied to my comment about 'a budgies routine' I started opening the blinds at a certain time and it worked! My budgies are now always chirping and always busy with things to play on. Thank you. I also wanted to mention about toys. You do not have to buy new toys all the time, I learnt. You can just break apart the toys you already have and rebuild them differently. It always does the trick for me. Hope this works for anyone else too. Again, I'd just like to say thank you.
When I was picking up my parakeet from my grandparents house where he had been staying for 2 days he started bobbing his head and chirping nonstop! My grandparents said that’s the most they ever heard him chirp while he was staying there. He was very happy to see me! :)

I’m happy that my bird can relate to every of these :)💕 But he hates when we try to pet him lol He is very social and he loves to be with and on us but whenever we try to pet him he tries to make us stop😭 so we don’t force him He literally cleans himself on our hands and sings lullabies to our fingers💕
Omg that's the exact same with my budgie. He doesn't mind a scratch on the neck but hates being pet anywhere else.

Happy Fourth of July!!! Today is my dads birthday and my birds love chirping and riding there feathers and yes yesterday we bought them healthy food with there seeds but why don’t they like trying new things??? Also my girl bird is very scared of I try to touch her why?? But my bird boy lets me touch him softly and hold him very lightly tho

yeap, sometimes when i'm not looking at my birds, minding your own business and suddenly catch them noticing and watching closing to what i'm doing and then they make eye contact as if asking "what you doing?" also i like when your bird understands what you are doing. i have tamed budgies and before it use to be difficult to clean cage they would hop on my hand or cloth that i am using to clean. now over few months they understand that i am cleaning their home so if i am cleaning on right, they move to left side of perches... and vice versa.

Sounds like my grandma's bird is happy! :D It's one of those white and gray cockatiels, and it seems happy when I talk to it! Sometimes it even giggles! Like, it'll mimic my grandma or grandpa's laughing!

I’m so glad I bonded well with my baby boy bc he’s so hyper and skrunkly when everyone in the house is home, but when its us two, I sing to him and he rests his head on my cheek and sleeps

research well. here are free advices from me. let say you get the birds for 100 bucks. then keep 200 bucks aside for their treatment. budgies get sick easily. if you want your birds to live longer and happy keep them as close as possible to outside air and close to plants which are safe for budgies(like english roses, mint plants etc) i have 2 english rose plants and i keep my birds cage close to those. no matter it's 1 pair or 2, always changes the litter paper every night so they don't breathe fumes of their own dropings at night since birds take longer breathe while sleeping. good luck
Please get 2 Budgies. If you don‘t want them to breed, get to Girls or Boys. The room you keeping them should be safe to fly around. No Little Spaces where they can get stuck easily, no Plastic to chew on also no plants that are harmful. They Need options to sit Outside, otherwise they never really get out of there cage. Please get real sticks to sit on instead of the ones that are smooth. That will irretade the feed. Crackers only once a week (Better every 2 weeks in my opinion) and pls nothing with honey. Treads should be given by Hand. That helps to get them tamed better. Always fresh water and Food (obviously). For the toys: please nothing with plastic, only Wood and Paper like stuff. Also be carful with that, some toys have line wich they shew on and die of because it is Stuck in their belly. Be carefull with bells, some have Stuff in them wich is toxic. Get a big cage, even If its just a Little budgie. They NEED space. Having a Bird is really expensiv and not as easy as it seems (Zebra finches are easier but you can‘t really tame them). Get them only If you can afford them. They cost a lot of Long Time because of Food, toys, needs they have and so on. I Hope i could help you a bit (sorry If some words are wrong, I‘m german )

its been a year and even though my budgies now flock to my hand if i have treatos, or even come occassionally without any bribe, they still aren't really that comfortable i guess. this video reassured me that my babies are actually really happy with me and i just need to work a little harder with them. thanks :D
My budgie loves nothing more than to chirp non stop. He basks in the attention of others and if I am reading a book, he will screech loudly until I stop reading and pay attention to him. He’s very noisy and a total attention hog but I love him dearly. He dances with his toys, flies laps around the room and likes to act silly to make people laugh. I love my Casper the friendly budgie.

We got our first budgie(kiki) 2 days ago and today we got him a friend(Kira)! Kira is still obviously nervous around us but Kiki is already eating from my hands and plays around with them jumping around :D

I've had my budgie for about 2 months now. From day one, I had interaction with her. I sit by her cage for a couple of hours, gently talking to her, using her name. After a few days I wanted to start training her, but she wasn't having it. I've tried luring her by using different fruits, veggies, & millet spray, but she wanted nothing to do with any of that. I tried the fingers on the perch, only to have her panic, so I stopped. I continue to sit and talk to her daily, I fed her and give her fresh water daily, she has lots of toys that I change out on a regular basis, but she doesn't seem interested in playing with them. She has a cuttlebone from as far as I can tell hasn't been touched. There are no other pets or people at my place, and I keep things fairly quiet. I try to cover her cage at the same time every night, and I keep it quiet with dim lighting as I am basically disabled and need to see so I don't trip & fall. What else can I do to gain her trust? She's perfectly fine when I sit and talk to her, but she freaks out when I try to train her. As a pet lover/owner, I feel like a failure 😭
Maybe wait longer? I didn’t touch my bird until a month after I got him. And training him came much later
Ik this is an old comment, and hopefully you’ve made some progress in taming her but, she could have PTSD from a previous owner/place which ruined her trust for humans. You shouldn’t take it personally. I have one budgie I got who I know has PTSD and he’s happy but he never lets me touch him. He will take Millet from my hand but only if I hold it out an inch from my finger. My other bird, a female budgie will step up on my finger, eat from my hands, and lets me carry her around the room perched on my finger when it’s play time. Don’t force it but eventually they should warm up and at the minimum eat from your hand! Maybe..hee hee :)
@@NotACupcake I've had her for just over a year now, and she still won't trust me, not ear from my hand. She does acknowledge me when I whistle at her or call her name. But that's as far as it goes with her. I don't get mad or upset with her.
@@chuckmckendry194 Fair enough might just be her personality then. I have no doubts you’re a good owner, some birds are just very introverted like my Frito lol. I can tell he loves me but he will not let me go near him at all and he’s very flighty. You can try holding Millet Spray on the outside of the cage through the bars and see if your bird will come to you that way. Might help? Idk.

Reminding me of Happy and healthy, Ive got food for my birds that have some pretty good vitamins in them. (Probiotics, Vitamin a, Omega 3 & 6.) And im sort of curious if I should get them vitamin water. But I'm also anxious that they'll get too many vitamins and die. Is it a bad idea if I should give them sum? Ive had the little guys since 2020 and 2021 and they seem good.

Dear salvador my budgie is 7 weeks old now and last weekend he got separated from his parents he lives exactly 24 hours with me know in the first 2 hours he was curious and energized he climbed to the top of its cage in seconds figured out all his toys he is already hand tamed but the last 20 ours he wil not eat on it own i have to handfed him and he constantly sits in one place of his cage my question is this normal or is he unhappy

I know it's out of topic but does beak colour also helps in indicating budgie gender ? Skip and Neo has a greenish beak while belli has orange beak
If it's greenish then it's a male if orangish then female I know I am not Salvador budgie but just saying
Male=Blue nose Female=pink nose There’s a other gender of budgies but I forgot the name it has a brown nose because Salvadoer budgie is so helpful for Bird information
