  • The twisting forces applied to the trailer hitch are insane, especially when turning left, I would be surprised to see it lasting more than a few km, not to mention the effect on the car dynamics. The good news is that the design can be easily corrected by adding a second wheel while still keeping the ability to lower the bike, you just need a U "swing arm" instead of an L one.

  • it was worth making a mechanical fixation of the wheel in the transport position, you should not keep the hydraulic cylinder under a constant load, it would be more logical to do it: pumped up the pressure and raised the trailer, locked it in the transport position and relieved the pressure ... стоило сделать механическую фиксацию колеса в транспортном положении, не стоит держать гидроцилиндр под постоянной нагрузкой, логичней сделать: накачал давление и поднял прицеп, зафиксаровал его в транспортном положении и стравил давление...

  • As much as I think this is a very cool build, I find myself thinking that using an air spring/shock would have been a much better choice. Hydraulic fluid is technically incompressible, so your trailer technically has no suspension. Now imagine hitting a bump at highway speed. That trailer is going to bounce all over the place. It seems to me it would be quite easy to swap the hydraulic pump with an air pump, which seems likely to work even if you keep the same cylinder.

    @N1RKW@N1RKW2 жыл бұрын
    • Well the cargo itself has shocks if i have to nitpick but i would still agree that a built in shock absorber wouldn't hurt.

    • The hydraulic isnt meant to be a shock, its just a lift like on a dumptruck. I have a little trailer that has no shocks and it bounces around a bit. In fact the sidewall on the tire is the only "give" in the system but its fine for light loads. I agree a shock would be nice but then he needs A arms and that really complicates things a bit.

  • The torsion on the hitch seems to be an obvious issue for me also. Would like to see a review after some use. I also would forgoe the complicated jack and swivel mechanism for a simple ramp.
