Today, Regan and I checked out the latest releases from IVE and CIX!
IVE released their 3rd single album titled, After LIKE, with the title track of the same name. A lot of people have mixed reactions about this song because it is so different. But I think that is what makes it so much better! While it is not my favorite, I appreciate how different it is and how amazing the choreography is. I can’t wait to check out a live stage.
CIX released their 5th mini album titled, OK Episode 1: OK Not with the title track, ‘458’. CIX has been lacking for me recently, but boy did this one grab my attention again. I love their more hardcore tracks; it fits all their voices so well. I love how in each verse you can hear the emotions in their voices. Truly amazing!

This is actually my favorite song by IVE so far, but then I was actually alive when Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" came out, LOL. Granted, I was only 8, but still. Also really glad to have new CIX. I got to see them live back in the spring and really enjoyed the show.

You guys should definitely listen to Ives bside “my satisfaction”. They took an even bigger step out of their typical sound.

One of the best groups but most are not ready for this conversation! Because they are in a company that is not so famous, Korea doesn't give the value they deserve, they just make top music, proud to be a fan! Brazil loves them! 🇧🇷💖💖💖
That's what makes Ive a unique group, each song has a different concept but all of them are still a banger and look elegant, such a versatile group as like red velvet 💗
CIX b-side on this album are again phenomenal especially Bend the rules and Drown in Luv
I was unsure of After Like too at first, I liked the verses more than the chorus but bish... it grows on you like CRAZY, I get why they chose this song as a title track, it’s good enough to carry on the hype of IVE and their previous stuff. You can’t keep on outdoing yourself everytime, it’s crazy enough that they started off like that to begin with. As for CIX... masterpiece, the entire project. This title track felt like a continuation to Jungle to me as well. I am so inlove with all 4 songs, I don’t wanna get ahead of myself but this might be in my opinion their best project overall. And it’s JUST 4 songs. Every song is top tier to me, the 1 year wait was so worth it. Drown in Luv might be my favorite.

After LIKE was very different indeed but like you said Jordan, that's what I respect most. The sample, the choreo, the vocals, it really made me enjoy this song so much. I love this song much more than LOVE DIVE but I still prefer Eleven over it. But wow that song is already on repeat. Now for CIX, sister on point. It really sounded similar to Jungle because of those verse switchups. But that's why I found this song so interesting. I liked it. Sometimes I'm not the biggest fan of too many things at once in one song but it worked for me here.

what I love about IVE is that they take a concept and drive it home. Like for After LIKE, took disco/ retro and completely smashed it. Love Dive took the cupid/ royal/ elegant vibe and completely blew me away. With Eleven that Arabia feel to it was the perfect debut to show what they were bringing to the table. Can't wait for their full album in early April!

Love when kpop intersects with diaco...jyp and sunmi is the best version of it but this hits close. IVE is killing it but I need a full album just so I can get a better feel for their vocals and style. Cix...I always thought it was pronounced six. But the person you were referring to as the best vocalist, he hit like taemin... This is my first time hearing cix and I enjoyed it. Btw, it's so funny watching your sister gauging a song; the puzzled look at first then the duck lips or pout til she smiles and leans forward 😂...that's how I know she really likes it. But you jordan...it's instantaneous.
