Everything I Learned in my First Month of FPV
This week I share with you the five main things I learned in one month from flying FPV drones. This took the longest to make out of all my previous videos so I hope you enjoy. I'm hoping the information in here can help someone else in a similar position to me or at the least, be entertaining.

Subcount did not grow as much as last week but that video didn't perform too well. It seems like lower effort put in last week was noticeable. That video also has a copyright content id claim so I'm not entirely sure if that suppressed the vid. This current vid will have a copyright thing but I also put way more time into it. 5hr film and 12ish hrs editing (3pm-4am). I'm hoping this gets 1.3k views by next upload. I am adding timestamps even though it may bring down watch time, its annoying when people put "thing 1" & "thing 3"
Welcome to the most frustrating yet most rewarding hobby on Earth!
Truth, just flew today for the first time and I WAS BLOWN AWAY
6:37 bro just dropped the hardest quote. This is my new favorite fpv channel without a doubt.
Great Video and concept. I really liked the footage of the DJI FPV blasting trough pine forest
just wow. the quality and content of the video is crazy. I wasnt bored at any time. great job. keep it up 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your content Ethan, you are great on camera, very personable. Keep it up!
even though I don't like dji I still think it is a great way to get started in fpv. can't wait to see you build an fpv drone and rip!!!! gr8 job bro!!!
Thanks :)
Epic video man, truly encapsulets the fpv experience, keep it up!!!!!
What an incredible view to fly from!
I hope we would that kind of weather here in Finland. It's basicly still winter in here.
I am 46 and I am just getting started with FPV. Thankfully, I didn't have to learn everything from ground up, since I am an electronics engineer, have an understanding of how micro controllers work, can write code, understand photography/videography well (been a hobby of mine) and can do soldering with ease. While I can fly comfortably in wide-open spaces, mastering obstacle courses and acrobatic maneuvers is still a work in progress. Greetings from 🇮🇳
Great job!!
amazing video man, keep it up!
You've got my respect 😊
BRO - GREAT VIDEO - WELL DONE - NEW FAN - BEST WISHES!!!!
Avata 2 is my first ever FPV drone. Chosed it because it has everything you need to start (except the fpv remote 3😂 which I bought it for the simulator in the fiest place). Flew only once with the motion controller, too easy for me. But when I tried the sim with the PS5 controller ( where I realised its useless to practice, more to have ideea how drone reacts ) I knew I needed the remote. I had until now only ~2 hours. But I will do it every day until I feel confident to even try the real thing. I only know its a long way, and I won’t stop until I master it just because its so rewarding afterwards. Loved the video.Subscribed
I really likr theis thanks for the video !!!
Glad you liked it :)
this is really good. 🙌
Great video!!!! I’m learning slowly. Didn’t like the simulator much. Learned if I listen to music i fly FPV better. More relaxed I think. Happy RC’ingY’all!!!!
Really great video man. Keep it up. You have a back for writing / producing.
Thank you!
You got this! Fpv is happy to have you. It’s not for everyone, you got to be determined. Nice video man👍
Thanks!
Bravo! Great video, I enjoyed it immensely. 👍👍
Glad to hear it!
You can tell you have gotten significantly better and more confidant and it looks way smoother flying than the other videos
This is great
You're lucky to live in that area! Great video, man. I'm like 100 hours into FPV sims with an Xbox controller and haven't been able to make the financial leap into the real thing yet. In due time. Will probably start by buying a real controller for the sim at the very least.
We have a similar story. I didn't get a fpv drone for xmas but I saw fpv videos 4-5 yrs ago. I was into gps camera drones at the time and knew flying fpv was super difficult. I kept putting it off until last year I finally got a rtf kit and the obsession began. I love this shit! Biggest regret is not starting sooner like you. New sub here, nice video!
Thank you :)
Smart move to get a decent mic. I subscribe to encourage a small starting channel. KZhead is hard nowadays. Keep it up
another spokane fpver here! man its a day of finding us on youtube! great video!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Well done young man , I’m 60 and been flying for 1.5 years and love it but trying to get others involved is difficult, seems to scare people because it takes effort . Hopefully you’ll convince others your age to get out and try this amazing hobbies. BTW I encourage you to build a 5 inch , you’ll be amazed how much better it will fly than the DJI and how much you will learn!
I'll definitely get a better drone in the near future
I'm going on 4 years in and still on analog, practicing in sim and experiencing every frustrating aspect of the hobby that I dealt with in my 1st month. My flight skills are improved but everything else remains the same. Lots of frustration, fomo, etc....but when you're in them goggles...all that feels well worth the stress and headaches. Probably the greatest hobby ever dreamt into reality.
❤
I took the FPV plunge earlier this year. I started with a simulator in January. The Avata went on sale in February, and I ended up getting that plus the DJI FPV. I have flown here and there IRL, but I am waiting for spring to get rolling before i really get after it. I would say it took me about 5 hours in the sim to not crash multiple times a minute, and by hour 15, I was feeling pretty comfortable in manual mode. I now have over 35 hours in the sim and not quite 10 hours flying in the real world. Im very thankful for the sim because who knows how much it would have cost me otherwise. The more real flight hours i log, the more comfortable i get and can fly more like I do in the simulator. Also, i find it unfortunate that people who fly DJI are kind of shunned from the rest of the community. Although, to be fair, I do understand that it's kind of an easy mode way into the hobby, and it isn't built for freestyle/racing like DIY quad copters are. Also props to the pilots that have been using analog this whole time. Being where i am at now, I would be far more inclined to take up building a drone sometime down the road. You get this daredevil style rush with none of the physical consequences of typical extreme sports. Its exciting to think where we could be as pilots even a year from now! Happy flying!! 😎
I think I know what bros favorite song is💀
It seemed to work for the transitions ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
@@EthanNaresh it did👍
My suggestion is to learn one new trick every five sessions. It's quite possible at that sort of speed. You don't have to learn every trick in existence either and some will not be possible on a DJI FPV. Don't start out on advanced tricks like rewinds, start with easy stuff, flips, rolls, yaw spins and get those down first, because those basic tricks lead to more advanced combinations. Headmaztas channel is pretty much your best bet for learning new tricks and he breaks them down into smaller chunks.
i wouldn’t recommend a tinywhoop indoors but get something you can do both with prop guards and do that outside (simulator first tho)
@5:18 I resent your depiction of analog.😂 But the truth hurts.😢
Again, great video! You are a real inspiration. I've got a nazgul lying around but I am too scared to fly it because I suck at the simulator.... But another question, where the hell do you live? That place is absolutely beautiful!
Damn I wanted to get started flying fpv but I thought a month would for sure grant better results, seems like there’s a big learning curve with fpv which won’t fit my current schedule
I still haven't learned how to fly straight.🌈 >:/
👍🏼
wish this was longer.
Coming in for my 6th hour on the simulator and I am starting to be confident. All I need is to buy the drone now 😂😭
Ur gonna regret those DJI drones😢
No they're OK
Do it!!
🇧🇷 is watching you
Hey are you anywhere around Big Bear
No, I'm in the PNW
Grab a nazgul BNF bro
I am new to flying fpv and I just bought a Nazgual Evoque and 2 months ago, i flew chasing some dirt bikes. A friend invited me to see some motorcross event and I took advantage and took my drone. I was super nervous because I had never flown following someone, but everything went without incident. Where i always go wrong is in edoting 😂 I feel like I don't know how to edit. Look, this is what I recorded that day. kzhead.info/sun/mraSpcmIeYV9o2w/bejne.htmlsi=9OOIT38LjuTVB4xm I also wanted your opinion. I have been recording with the 03 and GoPro, but I don't see a BIG difference. Of course, the GoPro has a slightly better dynamic range, but I feel that with manual adjustments with the 03 and an nd filter, you can get good shots. Or, in your opinion, is GoPro superior to the 03? Taking into account that most people would see the footage on social platforms with their cell phone.
im 30+ hours in across 4 simulators becasue moneys tight rn. but its going to be so much fun once i get one
