  • Thank you for the reply. My husband is 9 weeks out from treatment and his mouth and throat still are very painful but he’s finally trying to get food down so he can get his feeding tube removed. It’s been a very slow process but his doctors warned us. Your attitude is amazing and it’s been helpful listening to your story. Thank you.

  • So Sorry to hear, this man's story.... i swear i have this... the thing is i think its been manifesting itself for the last 15-17- years.... upon return from the middle east, i thought i had an ear infection while over there but i waited through it... i had what my brothers and i called "cork snot" in my right nostril (totally clogged that air path and acted like a cork).. also this is really gross but the bugger/cork snot would end up being like over an inch long and approx. 3cm long and narrow in size like it filled that whole nasal cavity right back to my throat... well back to the desert. i thought i had ear infection and when the and my right ear did feel like i had an earache.. i seemed to not be able to hear out of that side any longer... btw same side of the face that the nostril seemed to always get the cork snot... well i finished my deployment and my reentry physical i let the medics know that i couldnt hear on the right side ear... they asked me how long and i replied "about two or three months.. i personally attributed it to sinus infection because anyone that has been over there this is very common.. also i was 23 and invincible.. well all and all, a bit over a year later after getting the military bureaucracies to finally ok outside service medical treatment i got to see a private ENT in the states that is what we call Ear Nose and Throat Doctor. upon having an mr because cat scans didnt seem to find anything, the ENT found a growth that was in the shape of a fetus also 3cm+ or 1.3" in length.. just imagine a shrimp or a fetus because the dimensions looked very similar... well i had an operation and had it removed and never regained hearing on that side.... fast forward to 2010 i got really sick and doctors knew it was some mixture of arthritis/ crohn's disease... and after several overnight visits a specialist in boston diagnosed me with Wegener's Disease in 2013 after my heart stopped for some, heart condition likely related to the Wegners i was told.. because the soft tissue around my heart/pericardium was likely being inflamed to to something related... im not sure it was very rough time in my life and 2013-2016 the memories kinda feel like snapshots.. so why i mention this, i dont have anything to back it up except for what im feeling... if you look at common issues for the wegners you will see that some of these things are as common as common can be for a rare illness/disease... well i have been feeling something that feels like a lump in my throat yet it feels like its on the left side of my Adam's Apple, yet i am getting a random pain on the exact opposite side.. it almost feels like a punch to the throat and can be sore for days at a time and evan hard to swallow.. you can visibly see something like my nose is collapsing or being bent over the last few years.. all on the right side, mind you... this is getting too long so anyway i heard this thing that Babe Ruth died of and boy it sounds really similar to what is going on with me... i have scheduled an ENT appointment but recently missed it do to a winter snow and ice storm so now i have to wait another month before being seen... maybe i should let them know its not only almost impossible to breath through my nose. it really is just to labour intensive to try to breathe efficiently.. now that my throat feels like i have a lump and a soar spot that seems to not really go away.. im feeling a little claustrophobic.. at times anxiety because of this... i have been saying to my sister that i feel it in my bones that i may have some sort of throat tumor... i hope not... we recently had a relative pass away do to cancer complications and another childhood friend i fear it will take her life... i want to make a bumper sticker called Phukk Cancer. be cool if someone actually did one of those and donated money to cancer research.. 2019 and we have made it out of our solar system but we cant seem to stop cancer from taking the ones we love... soo sad and i do hope some how some way this gentleman may be able to at very least be comforted while going through this... o/ from Massachusetts... sorry for the long post.. i just wanted to list some symptoms that i have noticed over the years.. may or may not be related.

    • Thank you for your comment, I'm sorry you have to wait to be seen, sometimes the not knowing is worse than knowing, because once you know you can begin treatment and renew some sort of living rather than just existing. I do hope you get good news. Please let us know how you come on. I really hope your friend decides to carry on with life, I know it can be tough but as humans we can be tougher and stubborn and live the best way we can for as long as we can. Don't let negative thoughts cloud you my friend, negativity will kill you faster than anything remain positive no matter what and live life the best you can touch as many souls as possible with your own positivity..... I will say good luck because you may believe in it.... Hope all goes well my friend. And thank you again for sharing your story. 👍💪🤘👊
