  • The question is what is wrong with people that they give authority to others to control them in this way. I will drink/smoke what I like I have no interest in receiving any advice/direction from anyone else. Do canadian politicians really think their complex control regime is good and needed? Or are they simply justifying their jobs and existence?

    • Hard to say which, but the results are horrific. Just look at the drug war occurring throughout North and South America for a century. The subject is hardly mentioned anymore, yet enormous harms result, entire countries destabilized (Columbia, Mexico), and yet, there is hardly any political will, or recognition on the part of the population, to eliminate the root cause by legalizing drugs. And so enormously violent drug gangs and cartels, inhabited by the most violent criminals imaginable, continue to wreak their havoc throughout society.
