Rainy Drive from Miami to Miami Beach during Tropical Storm Watch (June 3, 2022)
I complete a drive from Miami to Miami Beach during the early afternoon to get ahead of a Tropical Storm that was scheduled to reach the Miami area. Despite leaving early, I still encountered wet conditions and streets that were flooded. The entrance ramp to the A1A causeway was flooded, and I decided to take a different way to Miami Beach that added additional time.

I don’t like to drive in the rain but living in a tropical storms zone is no way to avoid it, just be aware and do it carefully

You should see that McArthur bridge on ramp now. Flooded to the door handles. Cars stuck. I might post some videos.

I keep seeing a vintage golden-color castle like high-rise in Miami in your videos. I'd love to know what that building is. Is it commercial or is it apartments? It has a castle like crown at the top of the penthouse with windows and balconies and it's very ornate. It's a very cool building.

@@ActionKid I just looked it up and 50 Biscayne is a modern 57-story high-rise, so that's not it. The one I was interested in is a vintage building no more than 20-stories I would guess. It has a golden-yellow color that looks like antiquity with lots of architectural detail at the top and bottom. It's kind of plain in between.

It's called Miami News/Freedom Tower >>>You are right it is on Biscayne>>> 600 Biscayne Blvd. A Boom-era structure built in 1925, the building hosted The Miami News, the city’s first newspaper, for more than 32 years. Designed by Shultze and Weaver, a New York firm, the building, with its magnificent Giralda tower, is patterned after the great Medieval cathedral in Seville, Spain. A Tropical Storm must have an" eye" and winds must be above 39mph. For it to become a named storm.

I mean Miami is in Florida, and South Florida….well Florida all together, is known to get hit with hurricanes, tropical depressions, and tropical storms. Although, they’re so used to it that most Floridians while they take it seriously, they go on about it very chill…..most of the storms to them just seem like basic thunderstorms.

Have you ever been to Miami? Probably not, or maybe you have but you had a bad experience, and are bitter about it. Miami is home to the mansion of Gianni Versace, St. Bernard de Clairvaux Churh….there’s actually and art-deco place literally called the art-deco district…..What you’re describing is NYC…especially with the depression and drugs part, you see that more in NYC. Not every state in America is or has to be like NYC. Just because Miami doesn’t have a subway or bridges….even thigh there are a few bridges, that doesn’t mean it’s boring. You definitely haven’t seen all of the restaurants and clubs down there….because it gets poppin all the time in Miami.
