One of the features you’d think GoodNotes would have is the ability to give different covers to folders.
Thisss
You can edit the folder covers. Go to the top of the page that shows all folders and documents, then hit the settings symbol. After hit notebook templates, choose either the paper or cover (whichever you choose to add too). Then scroll to the end and hit the plus button to upload the files of paper (for default paper) or pictures for the cover photos. Hit save and next time you create a new folder you should be able to choose your recently uploaded picture or paper styles for use! Hope this helps!

Amazingly helpful. Changing the search language for a specific notebook helps so much as I am learning Russian so now I don’t have to scroll down page after page looking for one word or sentence. I’m also glad it can read my sometimes sloppy handwriting. благодарю! Thanks so much!
Great video! I didn't think the gesture would be that simple to add & delete spaces when writing. I might've missed this in the video, but do you know if there is a way to align text? Something similar to those guides in Powerpoint or Indesign that identify when you're exactly centered on the page or the distance in relation to other objects?

Omg, the color palette is great! Though, hopefully, we'll be able to create separate color palettes soon
To add: gesture for undo is tapping twice with two fingers!

Hi I was looking into your planners and I wonder if the PDF itself can be edited. I say that because I'm a PhD student and I would use most of the stuff in the academic planner except I don't have classes so I'd like to change a few specific words myself like "class schedule" -> "week schedule" or simply "schedule"

I also learned some useful new tricks! Thank you! One more I really find helpful is the options in the lasso menu! For example turning off elements/pictures! Then, when you lasso text it doesn't also grab the underlying picture. Since good notes does not have real layers, I use this for green screen as a green picture in the background and text on front that I can move... 😃

Just wondering. Do you only use your weekly dashboard. I notice it is different then the actual planner. I have purchased both, however I feel there is some overlapping.

The write -to-type feature doesn’t work either -I just manage to move the whole page around.

Hey, your videos are very helpful. I did tip 4 on my iPad at the same time as the video, unfortunately I can only write either with the pencil or using the keyboard. The combination you show in the video doesn't work for me. Could this be because I'm using Goodnotes 6 and/or have you changed any settings on your iPad or in Goodnotes? I would be very happy to receive an answer.

Great video overall but a few things to keep in mind if using the text tool the auto advance function does not work . Also no need to open the photos app separately like shown in video. Just click on the import photo function to activate then in document. Hold to edit , then pick crop which opens the freehand tool or rectangle. Took me a few tries to figure it out. This part of the video is the weakest part. Hope this helps .

Can you make list of favourite quotes with Goodnotes? When I read a book and come across a quote I like, I usually write in separate blank page in goodnotes so that I can recall that line or comment later. It will be good if there is a feature where you highlight something and it is saved… kinda like a Kindle. Let me know, thanks

Hey is there any feature to compress the page of any pdf to the highlighted text of page only ... Suppose i highlighted imp things in a pdf now i want only that highlighted portion to come out as separate pdf to make it easy to revise
Where do you get your templates from?

Can I ask you if you know how to use a downloaded font on the pages app on MacBook? I have a toon but it only shows me the 4%
To engage ‘the write to type’ (converting handwriting to text) you need to first go to your Apple Pencil settings and turn on the ‘scribble’ feature, then you are good to go.

love the video! i do have a question though: when you export a notebook to your files, but later continue writing and adding pages in said notebook, do you have to export it again every time or does it “update” itself automatically?

Hi, Flourish Planner: There is a "backup data" function in Goodnotes. But I am not sure where is the backup stored. Have you used it? How do you save your data in case the app crushes, and all the data are gone?
I believe there's an option to sync all your notes on icloud or google drive in the settings.

Yes. Just change the page template to blank after you've written it.

There was an ad about "paperlike" in case there's any artists or writers who want a paper quality experience (tablets) Also no fingerprints or scratches. I'm new here :)
@Flourish Planner I tried to use my Apple Pencil to draw diagonally over text but it just moves the whole text around the canvas instead of highlighting. I can’t draw a horizontal line either to add space. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
Go to your iPad settings, then to Apple Pencil and there is something called scribble. If it’s turned off then turn it on and it will hopefully work.
1:43 ‘rearranging pages’ doesn’t seem to work. according to screen-top, the user can shoes ‘date, name, type’ sorting options. I’m running v 5.9.51
