Johnny Depp is my husband's age, so we have followed his career from his Elmstreet role to 21 Jumpstreet and every movie he has done after. I always notice how centered Johnny has remained, with all the fame he has always remained that boy from Kentucky, humble and self avacing. Still wanting to just play his guitar. Off the pirate movies have made him rich. But his generosity to his close friends is unrivaled. Unlike many of the actors of his age, he has not gone under a surgeons knife to try to keep his looks. Which is something unusual in this day and age. He is aging gracefully and natural. Something that can not be said of many actors who became famous at the same time as him. He is still just Johnny, and that's why he will always remain more handsome than his peers.

Johhny is one of the few people, that with all his success has endeared himself to anyone who has seen him, met him and worked with him. He's generous with his fans, humble and so down to earth. He treats his fans with a kind spirit. He and Keanu are the two nicest men that have come out of the film industry. Neither one of them are the least bit hedonistic. ❤them both!

Wow, I had the exact experience with my horse who for some reason wanted to run like crazy before I was ready. I wound up under his belly looking at his muscular legs and hooves and had to make the same decision to either let go or try to ride it out. My head was hitting the paved road (bonk bonk) as he ran so I decided to just let go and hope for the best, so that’s what I did. I was banged up and lost a lot of my hair on one side as my head scraped on the pavement over and over. Glad you were ok in the end, Johnny. I was too. Whew.

Letterman's affection for Johnny is clear in all of his interviews, and he doesn't even attempt to be in his trademark mode. Looks like it is a reflection of Depp's extremely humble and un-star-like attitude, something like Paul Newman used to be.

i hear johnny depp's voice and go right to "fear and loathing in las vegas". in this interview you can notice that he is an attentive conversationalist. down to earth and humble with a good sense of humor. a good listerner. just my take.
