Obviously Gus has no issues with how the Dogs treated Trent Barrett.
Barret didn't provide results, two years in the row finished bottom two....with Ciro, is different, last season we had too many injuries which costed us games. We still have issues with the number 7 and some of our forwards aren't fast and strong.
@@RAM_845 they needed a team of 1st graders when barrett coached. Bulldogs have decided to buy a premiership instead of finding grassroots players

@@RAM_845club was in a mess when Barrett was in charge, takes a few years to create a solid roster. Bulldogs are still 3-4 years off being a top 8 team, they need a new forward pack and consistent halves.

I’ve always thought if you’re looking at footy now vs 30 years ago, the players should be playing better if anything. Men’s side, it’s kind of shameful that these lads are on 100k-1mil contracts a year but don’t want to rock up to training, take mini holidays during season, parties galore. Back a couple decades, the lads had to work 9-5 and then come let off some steam at the footy. It’s not even Bunnies at this stage, it’s a majority of the players that get put on that pedestal and it all goes to their head - with few exceptions. I’d love to see the entirety of the men’s side pick their game up whether it’s on the field or off the field representing.
Defence is not nrl standard, nor is attack, that's on the coach. JD will be gone in three weeks time
Sub par forward pack and no money to recruit. Buying wighton was their biggest mistake unless they move him to #6, but Cody is also a #6 and isn’t a game managing half so their kicking game will be abysmal. They should have bought 2 front rowers in the off season and moved Trell to the left edge.

@@madlad8629completely different, des is only 5 games in and annersley said himself that the titans were robbed of a penalty in extra time to win the game but thats besides the point. JD has had years and the signs have been there for the whole time
@Oscarbrrr Des was on a 10 game losing streak when he left Manly, its not that different. The same thing happened with Seibold at Brisbane, as soon as things go wrong the coach is the first 1 too cop criticism. They aren't the ones on the field, the problem is that coaches get sacked for poor performance on the field but everyone of them is obviously able to do the job or they wouldn't be employed. Look at Seibold now he has a team that wants too try, I'm not sure if Manly could win the comp but I guarantee on there day they could beat every team in the competition, the coach can only do so much. For Wayne Bennett arguably the greatest coach in the game too recommend JD as coach obviously he has some sort of skill, everyone was praising him last year when they sat on top of the ladder, he hasn't changed as a coach he's just got a few spoiled players that haven't helped him. He pulls them into line this whole story goes away.

NRL is lucky they’re a in-house Governed organisation because if they were anything like The English Premier League, Or any international Football federation where the clubs could be brought and personally owned these issue would never happen ever. If Russel Crowe was able to OWN Rabbitohs out-right & NRL allowed third party investments to come into clubs Crowe would literally fire the whole board and get new employees in there straight away lol and that goes for the rest of the clubs, If NRL wasn’t a in-house govern it would be such a better league but because NRL literally have a finger on anything to do with RUGBY LEAGUE it’ll never ever get to the standard everyone wants the league to be.
Russ used to own 75% of the rabbits until Packer and Brooks bought in, newcorp owns the broncos, Scott Penn owns Manly, 2 people own the titans, 3 people own the storm, etc. Most of the other clubs are owned by their leagues clubs. Third party investments are permitted provided they do not have a direct link to the club, they pay players, the roosters salary sombrero for example.

I'm still perplexed about JD sacking Lachlan Ilias while I was still recovering years after Souths let Adam Reynolds go. I've always thought that it's a coach's job to rectify faults or depleted performance in a player of Lachlan Ilias' quality, not just drop them.

All this started last year with Sam Burgess leaving earlier than expected. I think they should leave Sam out of the picture until he has proven himself in a lesser league, that he can handle the job. They need to shore up the club internally to allow a still rookie coach, to take over IMO.
It's been a horrific run since June last year, it's not new.

I’ll leave the commentary on Demetrius’s coaching ability to others but I’m sick to death of this “are they playing for the coach or not” business. They are meant to be professionals. They are paid like professionals. So it is irrelevant of whether they like the coach or not. They are contracted, paid, to put in their best efforts each and every week. So if they don’t put in their best efforts week in week out, then it’s on them as players.

Latrell = Jaryd Hayne, only wants to train and play when he could be bothered. Talk about a setting an example for others to follow and a way to lead a 1st Grade Side. Difficult for the incoming coach to deal with that ego and culture even after 2 years.
