  • Dear friends, thank you for watching! Some of you expressed concern that this video may be used maliciously by thieves. - I personally have had my car broken into twice. Never had the thieves bothered to carefully unlock my car. They simply busted out my driver window and quickly took whatever was inside. This video is intended to help people unlock their cars without breaking anything (including the law or the bank ;) The window in the first car is down while I'm trying to unlock it because the glass is tinted and you can't see anything through it (I apologize for the lack of realism :)

    • Nothing new here for car thieves, but then this only gets you into a car, it won't start it for u. Best technique for getting into a more modern car that isn't yours is using an RFID scanner to collect the remote opening code when someone parks. Set the code to a blank key fob and just open the car like you owned it. Still won't start the car, but seriously this wouldn't be teaching a real thief anything new(not even the ten year old ones).

  • i just locked my keys in the car a few mintues ago and the shoe string (and butterknife lol) method worked great! it took me some time, maybe like 10ish minutes. at first it felt like the butterknife wasnt enough for the weather layer but i kept pushing downward until the shoe string finally squeezed in. the knot was kinda tricky, it kept loosening up on me, but after having to do it a few times in the process made me a pro at slip knots lol. the twisting the knot around tip worked for me 👍 which then proceeded with me finally unlocking my car. now i shall carry shoe string and a butterknife with me everywhere 😂. i am so grateful of you, you saved me money from not having to call a locksmith! thank you so much!!!

  • I ran into this video tonight because of an emergency and the first option truly works! Left a car running to warm up with driver door closed, but after a couple of minutes the locks randomly kicked in and I was screwed. A traditional flat shoe lace is what will only work. Follow the instructions with lots of patience with a really tight knot and you should hopefully pull it off too. It saved me lots money instead of calling a locksmith and I've also learned a new trick. So thank you so much!

I had to improvise by tying a piece of thin wire onto the middle of the shoestring because the slipknot kept closing as I slid it in, however I made a little loop out of wire and secured it into the middle of the string, then slipped it through, did a very small amount of fishing and I had the knob pulled up!! • This video is really good. One note, always unlock from the passenger side. There is a lot less wires and mechanisms on that side. Another great trick is to take one of your wiper blades off and see if there is a small strip of metal in it. If there is, take the metal out and you can slip in to the door lock at 6 oclock as if looking at a watch. It is easier as well as use it to slip under the lock and sweep left or right and catch the mechanism. The wiper blade or your antennae is cheaper than calling someone to come out to unlock your car. Both are cheap to replace. Another thing you can try is each window. Gently take your hand , palm down and gently drag down on the glass with medium pressure. Sometimes there is enough slack to get a tool or hanger from the top.

  • A handy tool is metal wire from a fence. It is more rigid than coat hanger. It is much longer, you can even attempt to reach the door in the other side. There is fences like that everywhere. The only difficulty is starting to remove one wire without tool. And not get caught if the owner of that fence is around. The zigzag shape often helps to position the metal piece.

  • Those are great tips and I have three vehicles and they have three different ways to unlock the vehicles too. I was stuck in New Mexico once while driving to California at a rest stop and forgot to take my keys out after parking and had to get help from another driver to get into my car. After that I made sure my keys was in my pocket before locking my vehicle.

  • Thanks for the video . I am a retired professional Locksmith ,but I still carry my tools around ,to help people once in awhile . But sometimes even I get locked out of my vehicle and my locksmith tools are locked in side and can't get to them . You have shown me a way that even I didn't know how to get into my vehicle so easy . Thanks , cause lately in the last six months or so I have locked myself out of my vehicle at least four or five times and people come up to see if I need them to call a Locksmith and I have to tell them that I am a Locksmith and that is pretty embracing . And have to tell them that my keys and Locksmith tools are locked in the vehicle and I will get in side shortly . I have an older vehicle that doesn't have those electronic systems or buttons or clickers . So thanks . You showed me a way to get into my vehicle that I didn't learn in locksmith school .

  • Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for uploading this video. I lock my car keys in the car last night and only found out this morning. I had a wire hanger ready, but a quick search on you-tube I came across your video and decided to try out your first method where you used a shoe lace. I used a piece of string instead. After a few failed attempt when I was pulling the string too fast and the loop would pop out as the string twisted on the pull, I was finally successful on the fifth attempt. I think it took me less than 15 mins and no damage to the car door or the seal. So just wanted to say Thank You 🙏
